Holding players off?

Hello,

An infuriating aspect of PES '15 is that my players are easily brushed off the ball but I can't seem to apply the same type of pressure to the AI players, I either HAVE to block tackle or slide, which often results in a free-kick.

Any ideas how to shield the ball when in possession? I've tried RT but they still just steam in and rip the ball away, it's incredibly frustrating.

Thanks.

I know that feeling and since they removed the right stick function from last year there isn`t much you can do. Try to turn away from the defender, change your speed and direction in the last moment before they tackle. Use RT if the defender is in front of you, if he comes closer you can use R1/RB x2 to make a speed burst.

It is happening again
It's one of the most frustrating things in this game. Especially because it doesn't actually let you do anything (pass etc)!

You mean during dribbling, when two players wrestle each other and the one with the ball can't turn, pass, shoot etc? If yes, I can do that to the AI as well. And there is an easy way to prevent this from happening: keep the ball circulating, passing is the key.

There is also another thing (my first thought after reading the title) that happens after a tackle: the AI player falls, grabs your player, you lose the chance to attck/defend, and no fault is given. I have a video somewhere where this happened (here).

Thanks for the responses.

I think quick passing, RT and changing direction quickly could be the way forward.

Rebelinho (great pic of Keano btw, he looks like a psychopath!) How do you grapple when running with the ball? It's frustrating as hell not being able to build up any momentum because my players get thrown to the floor all the time.

Thanks, I like that photo, suits me quite often.

As for the moments when you receive the ball and AI players take it from you before you can do everything there isn't much to do really. Avoid risky passes, and if possible press R1 (sprint button) twice to burst forward (you need free space ahead of you). It is pretty much the only way.

I prefer strong players for this reason. Forster-Caskey, for example, has a very low OVR but has over 85 in Balance. He's decently fast, but as he is quite stronger than average he can withstand more abuse and it's more difficult to lose the ball.

I've been playing a bit more today and haven't been getting caught in possession, funny you mention Forster-Caskey, I played Brighton in the cup (as MUFC) and they were pinging it around like Pep's Barca, all teams appear to play the same way and be equally adept regardless of player stats, the game's a bit of a mess really. :realmad:
