Regen Ribery has recently flourished for me so I thought I would record each game and see if performance while flourishing had anything to do with the amount of time it lasted for.
It was going well until the CPU decided to fuck me over and injure him in training :realmad:

7.5 match rating - 1 goal

8.0 match rating - 2 goals

Game 7
8.5 match rating - 2 goals 1 assist
Game 8
Injured in training - Out for 2 weeks
Game 9 & 10 - Injured
*while he was injured a small number of his stats still increased after each game.
Game 11
Returned from injury but flourish had ended.
Overall Rating increased (+4) in this time.

Finish 93 OR
I'm sure if he hadn't got injured in training he could have increased +5 OR, maybe even +6 with missing out on 2 extra games.
It looks like that performance does affect the length of the flourish then, with consistently high match ratings and MoM performances extending the time of the flashing arrow...
...or knowing Konami, its all just random
