how to get good rating?

Hi all,

its great to find this forum :)
I'm currently playing BAL as Wolfsburg player CF/SS, and in my 1st season.

I find it a bit difficult to get a good rating; e.g. I'm scoring a hattrick, but I "only" got 7.0; my partner striker got 7.5 even though he contributed only 1 assisst.
The thing is that sometimes I'm also having difficulty to completely follow the instructions given by the trainer; e.g. he wanted us to get the best out of a midfielder, and that we have to give the service he needs; how should I do this as a striker? If I got the ball from him, should I always give it back to him and let him bring the ball to the final 3rd? What if I am currently in a good position to attack?

Would be nice to get some tipps from you all regarding following the instructions!

I have the same problem... and i've been looking for guides or tips and tricks and so on this mode with no luck.

First i dont know how rating, and coach performance work... it seems quite random to me (i got all possible combinations, i am a CF and i scored a hattrick and coach pushed my comaprative rating down and got a 6.0 rating on the match... or sometimes i did almos nothing but and assist and got a nice increase in coach rating and an 8.0 rating).

So i am wondering how all this works and how can i get better rating. I am no1 goal scorer on the league, but is hard for me to get ratings over 6 :S

Aside from that... are there any guides on this mode of the game?

No, it is not random. You have to remember that rating is about your complete performance. Not only assistance and goals you make. Also how many times you miss the ball and the times you were offside and the times you miss a pass.

Dont miss the ball, dont miss passes, no offsides, no faults, recover the ball when you can. If you make all this you will have 7 - 7.5 rating even if you dont make any assitance or goal. Of course your rating will depend of your position (role) in the team and what is expected for you to make in the match.

One last thing: assitance > goal. It's logic if you think about the value of teamwork . It's better if you play for the team and not for yourselve. Dont be selfish, egocentric. It doesnt matter if dificulty is legenday or regular. It doesnt matter if its single player or online legends match. Try and you will see your new rating.

Wow, that was a good tip indeed :) Actually i was starting to wonder something like this and now i know why i get so bad scores (i miss many passes and do some offsides as well because im just 66 and my teammates serve the ball too late most of the time). I will follow your tips and see what comes out of it, i will have to improve passin skill or i wont get good rating! And ty for the tip about assist!

PPS: And you know how to get good coach comments and rating? I really dont get the messages and what to do when its long ball or possession and so... I try to follow what he says... but looks like i dont do the key things right even if i stick to the hightlighted field area the coach says or i try to serve the target player... Thank you again!

I never follow the instructions down to every detail. If the team plays long balls and there's a certain target player, the other players plays long balls like mad men towards him, but my player is 18 now, so obviously he has lousy passing stats - and i don't want to follow the tactics yet the pass doesn't reach him, and i get a bad rating. So in the first season i try to pass the ball around as much as possible. I always play for a weak team since that's the easiest way to get some time on the pitch.

First season - RKC Waalwijk. 24 games 12 goals as AMF. I got 7,5 as mi highest rating despite of the above mentioned. Now it's my second season and i play for PSV as AMF. Have played 5 games, and before the matches i get messages like: "Our attacking play is build around you this match" or Our attacking play depends on you etc" Enjoying it a lot, all though to be fair it's quite unrealistic that a 18 year old player with 68 overall has this responsibility :)
