I am done with PES 2017!

Same thing with P E S 2016, now with P E S 2017; after just one month, I am completely dissatisfied, unhappy and cannot find any enjoyment with this game for the second year in a row.

I find Top Player not challenging enough, so therefore I have to play on Superstar. But my dilemma is, I cannot score; tired of 1-0 and 0-0 scorelines constantly and sick / fed-up for the scripting, cheating A.I. and being constantly chopped down, slide tackled losing in cheesy manner.

I'm not sure if because people I watch on YouTube in the ML careers, use the top teams like Real Madrid or Barcelona etc. So they have the best players, just spam through balls and crosses and can score consistently on Superstar?

The highest rated team I've tried using is Liverpool. Usually I'll use teams to the likes of Leicester, Milan or Southampton. Yes I prefer possession football and breaking down teams, but I'm versatile; so I can play quick passing / movement, counter attacking, long ball, crossing and physical defending. But nothing is working!

I create chance after chance after chance, can't score and when I do, it feels like luck with some rebound goal or something. No matter how much great football I play, everything gets blocked, shut down, picked off by A.I. or saved or some random bullshit with my attacking player fumbling.

I use fast runners like Mane etc. get passed a defender, in full sprint and A.I. still catches you like nothing and chops you down with a slide tackle.

From PES 16 right into now 17, still have yet to win one penalty decision or earn a PK:erm: No matter how many times I get squashed by 2 or 3 defenders, or hit in the face, pushed down in the box, no penalty.

A.I. can have 9 players behind the ball, clear the ball up field directly to their one striker magically and somehow, bomb 5 and 6 players forward to get into the box for crosses and still out-sprint you back on defense to defend counters:shocking: Everything goes to them! Their flick on headers are ridiculous, their long balls, diagonal crosses and one long pass to pick out one attacker; they can shield off 3 defenders while dribbling? Out sprint you on the touch line, win the most bullshit headers from no position; get rebounds constantly and every ball deflects to them somehow.

I don't know what else to say or do. I'm playing my ass off, outplaying the A.I. and still no reward!

So I might as well stop complaining and just sell this damn game, because I cannot find any enjoyment in it.

I am in the same boat as you.

But I'm not that good of a player so I play on regular, but still all those things happens. I even uninstall the game last week, but yesterday I install it back again and promised myselft not to shout on my players and get so frustrated as it is just a game.

I play ML with deafult sguad (arcas, castledine etc). on regular and I my players are just weak even I have 3star team now compared to 1,5star teams in serie B liga (italian 2nd division.)

I was using the fluid formation with 4-2-1-3 rormation, couter attack, short pass and it worked for a h¨while. Now, I changed back to static formation 4-2-2-2, swithced to long ball and also to advanced shooting (didn!t used it before as I thought it is that manual thing, and I had preety nice games yesterday.

But as you say, I get smashed in the opposition box, their legs are everywhere and no penalty given even it is clearly a foul.

At least I get some free kinck, in 2016 I almost had no free kicks.

i was editing over the Portuguese teams so mine is really messed up. they said when game came out that updates wouldnt affect edit data.

Hahaha. So fucking recognizable. Also the shouting ectc. Cursing and throwing controller through the room which I did not have for a freaking long (decennia) time.

I end my matches on prof level (so still 2 Under highest) with average about 60% possession, more shots, more shots on goal, better passing percentage. And still loosing 4-1 or 3-0 and stamina drawn fully as I HAVE to sprint to keep up with the AI Mongols.

And exactly as you say...they defend with 8 behind the ball. I hardly can get a shot from round the box or a leg is in between. I do manage to outplay them and get crosses in but I also like to have a shot at goal or a dribble goal. Not happens a lot of times...

And when they get the ball...they play it from just outside their box to almost my box, get the ball a lot of times (even if u try to head it away) and shoot or dribble and ...goal. Just ridiculous.

Fucking frustrating.

Only reason I keep playing is that it is different in My Club. I can win some stuff there. And it goes reasonably well. Only Master League is dramatic. Its not frustrating if you are outplayed in every subject. But that is not the way it goes. I outplay them. But they are so freaking fast, tough and have major endurance. Which is just not realistic.

Ok. Have to get back on my words a little. Still at 11th position in the league with Ajax. Team spirit is about 72-75. But I tweaked my strategy a little. Not 1 dm and 2 cm/am. But now 2 cm (more dm-like players) and a am. And my backs and wingers placed more to the sideline.

And I drew against feyenoord (arch rival) and won home against benfica with 2-0. But the most important thing...I changed level from average to prof and played better with lot less frustrations during the game.

Hopefully it keeps like this but at least it's hopeful again.
Really really happy with my CL win and draw against f'noord and the way I playedm.

So. The win against Benfica was the 2nd game of December 2016 in ML. Results after my strategy changes...

Ajax - Groningen 0-0
Ajax - benfica 2-0
Heracles - Ajax 0-1
Vitesse - Ajax 0-2
Ajax - twente 3-0

All with above 55% possession and most of times above 80% passing completion.

Team spirit now (before last game) maxes to 78. Think I will hit 80 soon. And it really is better now.

I'm getting pissed of this game! What makes konami thinks that a better AI is messing up with our players and make a stupid referee? Why do they let you get more than one special agent playing more than once a cup if after the first time it's unplayable?
C'mon, now I understand why FIFA got so famous! This game used to be the best ever until 2009 but I don't know what they are trying to do.

My team was flying yesterday when I won a cup, and after that, when I tried to start the second cup, it suddenly turned into the worst team ever! The players were very slow, passing the ball to nowhere and not able to steal any ball! And when I could create chances of goal I couldn't score because they gave me a terrible shot! So then I got one goal and what happened? Yes, they created a scripted goal against me as if my players were frozen! Not to mention the goals at 90 mins that looks like as easy as making a pass.

This is making me nervous and we can't have fun at all. Instead konami improve the players AI, they are making ours stupid. The referee doesn't blow the whistle for the com but give me a yellow card for not touching their players. That's not fair, thats not challenging. Shame on you konami.

Haha, all i need to tell you is just keep trying, and playing continue. All your problems i think come from yourself, i also play liverpool with superstar AI and win them easily 3-0, 4-0, even though i handicap them the conditions, i always play normal condition ( Yellow arrow), and superstar AI top conditions ( Up light blue arrow). The same situation when i play in ML, My possession in every game is more 60%, i think all you need to do is try keep your shape, hold your team in right position, Use R3 to manually defense in almost situation especially in crossing situation, Use 1-2 passing, to break the defense shield of Ai, it's very easy, dont hold sprint too much. Mane or some fast player like Walcot, even ronaldo can be catched up if you sprint from semi circle to their goal. Use speed in right time, if you have chance face to face with goalkeeper i think, the goal is simple, however, in 2016 and 2017 with stats 75-85 finishing, you can miss the goal even you face to face with goalkeeper, so try finish carefully with suitable power gauge, not too strong, not to lightly.

After playing FIFA 17 (and altering the slider settings) for over a month now, I feel that PES is out-dated and robotic. I know how to play the game, I've been playing PES off and on since PES 3.

Konami have hardly changed a thing over the past few years, they just tinker with how much/how the CPU rips off the (human) player in the Master League mode. I'm having great fun with FIFA 17, I honestly feel that it is the very best version in the series, my 2nd favourite is FIFA 14. Yeah, PES 5 is an all-time classic; PES 2013 was great but the game hasn't evolved in the ML mode since then. I'm talking about actual playability. Once you get over the nice player control animations, you're left with a sour taste in the mouth, due to the scripted nature of the game.

I think I cheered only once or twice when scoring, yet with FIFA 17, I'm cheering after almost every goal. I used to cheer when scoring in PES 5 (and quite a few times when playing PES 2013). I used to criticise FIFA a LOT in the PES 5 days, it was only fun to play against human opponents, the offline game was very poor indeed. Now it seems that the roles have reversed(?), I don't play online any more, but the ML is cheesy, stale, and scripted as poorly as an American soap opera.

Blaming the end-user doesn't wash any more, PES no longer deserves to be called 'Pro Evolution Soccer', it has turned into a money-grabbing operation, they ONLY care about taking people's money through MyClub etc.

The programmers need to have THEIR balls "blacked", and let them SPIN on the ground! <<< That's just a joke!

( As for FIFA 17, I still haven't updated it (I don't want the CPU teams to be over-powered and ultra "direct" like an attacking juggernaut), I'm running version 1.0 (PS4)).

I hate to "bad mouth" PES, but I'm sick of Konami's chicanery!

PES has lost its way in the eyes of many footie fans, however, the developers dont care a crap. As long as they can move a couple hundred thousand units every year.

Fifa opened my eyes when it was made clear that all players could execute tricks and more importantly.....juggle the ball. To date, no player in PES can juggle a ball. Now back then some saw this as rubbish but I felt I was important that the developers paid attention to details within the game to make it more realistic.

So today PES is a decade behind Fifa 17 ...and this is fact. They (PES) focus more on the graphics of the cut scenes in the game. As per EA the models on the field are all low grahic models for engine to run smoothly. So Fifa has the best passing, the best shooting, the best collision system, the AI and most of all remarkable animations...but cut scenes which include player faces are not the best.

Therefore, Fifa outsells PES every single year. There is a reason.

You can also go ahead and update the game ...Fifa is not PES ...everything will work the same or even better.

is anyone managed to get their defender to stay close with the COM striker? whenever they cleared the ball or long pass to their striker, my defender are always stayed far away from COM striker, letting them to take down the ball easily, even i put man marking on the striker.

Yes. So far man marking has worked really well for me in master league particularly for fullbacks with the defensive eplaying style and the man marking skill. I've used a 75 rated young full back to take care of Messi. As long as they got the defensive style and man marking skill, their low rating isn't a big problem.

CBs man marking also works very well, but gotta be careful because if he CF drifts out wide, then there will be a gap in the middle for the AM and midfielders to exploit.
