i dont think fifa fails completely ive had some really good games online i just think its trying too hard? i think pes got a shock to the system by how improved fifa has got and now it too is trying too hard and is now making mistakes like fifa if you get what i mean

The game is a lot better then last years version and the online is sorted. An option file will sort you out. The only thing that annoys me is Mark Lawersons commentary its awful. But apart from that def a better than pes than last years.

I have to say that i agree with ARSENALRULE this is possibly the worst PES game ive ever played!!!

Ive been a PRO man for many years, ever since ISS on the SNES and i was really hoping for a vast improvement on last years atrocity, but im afraid that they havnt really taken the game to the next level.

I dont really care about licenses or the fact that my teams "Kit" is on the game for me it was always how the game plays, and i was so disappointed in last years effort that i was so damn sure this year would be better, but once again Konami have failed to deliver a decent next gen football game and i cant see them getting any better. I reckon that the PS2 version of Pro will be better than the PS3 version, like last years was....

For me FIFA is now the King of football games, 2008 was good, 2009 is very good, it has taken them about 10 years to get it right, plays smooth looks good and is actually fun to play.

this years pro evo is fuckin shit

1. the way the players run, i'm putting this down to ther oversized 1930's shorts, they run like they have a patty in ther knickers

2. the shooting is a direct copy of fifa 08, which was crap, but which they have made perfect in fifa 09

3. the online play, its so limited compared to what fifa has to offer, the be a legend online is just pointless and boring cos the A.I plays such a boring game and insists on hoofing the ball out of play, also it plays at a slower pace online and the players feel so unresponsive. ther also seems to be a bug in wher you tackle someone or get tackled and your man just stands ther :realmad:

4. the graphics, ther is not one hi def texture in the game, its like playin a polished ps2 game, the grass is straight from the old delta force games, the crowd.....well lol what can you say.

5. the menus and the infuriating background music....wtf

6. keepers just dont want to save the ball at all or hold onto it or get up quick to get a team on the counter attack. also why are they wearing mickey mouse gloves? :fplm:

7.the commentary and crowd noise/atmosphere,no words can describe how pathetic it is, pre-recorded shite lawro's spoke down the phone to konami

8. team rosters, now i know they've always been hit and miss but ther seems to be some kind of timewarp at the konami offices, tottenhams squad is a joke

i know fifas not perfect, its still a tad slow and hard to dribble past someone, but it plays a good game, if you lose its your fault, the online modes an options are a joy, the game updates automatically :lol:

like i said fifas not perfect, but pro evo is worse this year, to say lots of players feel the same :mellow:, they do on pro evo, and also at least on fifa they feel solid and are lol, countless time have i turned someone an ''ghosted'' through the defender.
less freedom when defending?, you've lost me ther, i want a tight back four, not a back four that cant handle the simplest of through balls.
also getting games is more difficult, to presses of x and your in a game, on pro you'd still be fuckin around with yer konami ID :fplm:

my view

it is near impossible to top my Pro Ev credentials (though im sure plenty can match) as i played ISS deluxe on the snes and bought ISS Pro and all the other Ps1 titles. Had a couple on the N64. Bought every Ps2 one and played 2008 on the PS3. I haven't bought FIFA (except a second hand fifa 07 for the gamecube long after it came out) for 12 years. Fifa 97 in fact and it was probably the worst football game ever created i turned to pro and never looked back. until now.

now i wouldn't say i have been biased to pro over the years because it justifiably was better than fifa year in year out. until now. i don't want to hear any of this rubbish people are coming out with now like "even a baby could play fifa" or "enjoy your shiny little badges". Now i've done my fair share of Fifa bashing but Pro Ev players used to take pride in being the ones playing a true football game, the beautiful game etc, not just exercising blind loyalty regardless of the facts. I used to think Pro Ev players wer intelligent and knew their football and i'm not generalising but i imagine this forum to have a large population of school kids who are looking to further their playground squabbles online.

and can everyone stop pretending konami are like some indie game company? they're out to make money just like EA and the main difference between the two for me is not about who's got the most money; it's who cares the most about the football game they're making. Konami just aren't bothered and its appalling that they haven't rewarded their gamers over the last decade or so with a true next generation football game. EA would have buried Pro years ago if it wasn't for the shear loyalty of it's fanbase and the fact that FIFA was shit. it's like EA have been waiting for this generation of consoles to finally make the game they've been trying to make for years.

i still bought pro ev 2009 the day it came out (force of habit i guess) and imagine i'll still have a few good games with me mates on it but i'm tired of the stupidity on here and i can't even be bothered listing pro ev's flaws because they are there for all to see.

there's got to be a few people on here who agree with all or most of that? i should mention i'm an everton fan as well and as such football is in my blood

Why is the online version so bad for PES2009? I can't believe that I took 10 minutes to find a stupid match room to play a damn game. In PES 2008, all I had to do is find a random player and just play. But not anymore. In PES 2009 you have to look for every damn match room to see if it is full or not.

Registration:

It took me over 30 minutes to figure out how to damn register on your crappy Konami site. Wtf is wrong with you? For one password you accept only letters and for another one you only accept letters and numbers? What about the KonamiID and GameID? WTF? How the fuck am I going to remember all those fucking names and passwords? You think I live and die for konami all day long?

Online Play:

Why do you make me waste my time in finding a stupid game to play? All I want to do is get online and just randomly play against another guy since the AI is too easy to beat (even in Top Player level).

Why does it keep lagging? Why can't you fix this crap?

Why do my players keep running on a direction when the other guy runs with the ball towards my goalkeeper?

Why do my players stop completely (bug) when they lose the ball? Why can't they rush to go get the ball back?

Why doesn't the AI pressure work properly? When I press square it seems that all of them are going somewhere but not towards the opponent with the ball.

Goalkeeper:

Have you noticed that it is much easier to just shoot towards the goalkeeper and score rather than trying to put it in the angle? All I have to do is run on the sides and just shoot towards the goalkeeper. I can assure you that it's a 100% goal if you do that. Pathetic.

Shooting:

Ok, maybe you wanted to make it harder or something. But can you tell me how to angle my shots? How come each time I try to angle the ball (even with R2) it either ends up out or centered to the goalkeeper?

General:

How come these players are so shit?

Ibrahimovic, C. Ronaldo, Henry, Etoò and Messi? I have easier time dribbling and surpassing everyone with Augero than with Messi. C. Ronaldo is so shit that I can't even dribble properly.

Why don't you release a patch to put the latest transferred players in the correct teams? I want to see Quaresma and Muntari in Inter.

Yes, there is something called downloading stuff from the internet and shit, but I want something official from Konami so everyone has it.

LMfao at this game , how can konami seriousley warrant bringing this game out, in all honesty this game is so shit, its eitheryour a really good team and jsutwin 5-0 or get raped by a good team, supposed to be a passing game , rather than a running game. I think if they mixed th3e two up for next year or a complete new engine. if they dont do either i think they will be fucked. Im not going to buy next years game , i will rent then deiceide to buy. i thought i could protect pes's name to all my mates , i thought i owe konami something, no,no. This year game has put a dought in my mind. last year i could play th game for hours on end against the computer, now every game against the computer is shit , an online is slow and shit. The only time this game is good is when im playin with my mates on local gameplay.


most importantly i had more fun in edit mode , colouring in pixels than champions league mode. When i giot it i thought it as shit , but i thought id give it a chance, but it was still shit. Fuck the the shitty update ofkits, change the fucking data of the game to the last game. One positive note the passing it times is spectacular, which doesnt really make much of diffrence though especially when the heading accuracy is total shit
