Hi All

Not sure if anyone else thinks the same, but... is the whole Editing side of PES Dying?
I remember a couple of years back, October through to April was awash with excited members looking for Option Files, Kits, Teams and Face Builds.
Now it seems a whole day can go by before anyone posts anything on this forum. I mean, for me, this is where it all started and I will continue to do so.

Is it because there are too many Konami Player Updates? (I believe there has been 6x already) And as we all know, these updates can screw up our Team Rostas.

Antony for me the editing scene has changed due to a couple of important facts, one
being editors become tired of posting work on sites like this only to find it turn up on
e-bay slightly tweeked at £3.99 a go also Konami are just plain stupid in not using what is regarded as a weakness in lack of licences to their benefit, by this i mean totally open up the editing bring back the stadium creator, allow importing of
chants, create more fake leagues these along with other editing options would make the game more personal ie tailored to ones needs

I can think of many reasons.

1st - Konami and Sony restrictions on editing, always hiding, locking or removing features game after game, instead of adding new ones. For example, Konami kit limit, removing teams from other european that were so useful for editing, removing stadium editor, etc... Also I think the chants can't be added because of Sony restrictions. As I am tired of saying, PES has the potential to become the best football game ever, much better than FIFA, with a much smaller budget. Forget about licenses, there's no point at all on paying thousands and thousands of dollars to get Borussia Dortmund license if they can't get Bundesliga, same for At. Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal - Why paying thousands of dollars to get those if they can't get license for Premier League/La Liga? They're making the wrong moves. Save money on that stuff and invest it in other ways to improve their game, such as paying for more employees to make more 'fake' leagues, so we can add the ones we want to play with.

2nd - PES 2018 was a deception for many people. Some didn't enjoy the gameplay, others say it's no different from PES 2017, and they won't buy the same game again (at least, those are smarter than most FIFA players, who keep buying the same game year after year...). The hype is gone.

3rd - Most people play always the same leagues - Bundesliga, MLS/Liga MX, and CSL/J-League. And all of these were already done, so there's no need to do anything else. Then, they play Master League until they are bored and leave the game forever. They only care about filling up the fake team slots, and never think on all the possibilities that they have if they invest some time on the editing menus. That's it. This isn't my case, I love playing with new and different teams and leagues.

4th - The focus on MyClub and online modes. I already tried MyClub, and I must say, for me, it looks like a cheap copy of FIFA's Ultimate Team. Ok, some people like to play it, there's no problem, just because I don't like it that doesn't mean other people don't enjoy it. But MyClub is taking the spotlight and leaving ML/BAL behind. And MyClub is all about those big players that are already in game, so, there's no need at all for editing to play MyClub.

5th - People that steal option files. Like rogers150862 mentioned above, OF makers feel very bad when they see their hard work that they shared for free being sell by other people online. Or even if they aren't selling it, sometimes, they share it and put adlinks, making money from other people's work. That already happened with me: I once found some of my kits on pes-patch website with an adlink. I complained and the uploader added a direct link for it. And I must say, admins here don't seem to care (sorry :(). There was a guy here (@ashrafyoussef) that posted a lot of other people OF's with adlinks. The account wasn't banned and his posts are still up. I can't see how a community is supposed to work like this.

In my opinion, what we really need now, besides more attention from Konami, is some editors that bring us new and different stuff, so we can get back the fun that PES once had, basically, someone that give this game a second life. On PES 2017, for example, I made some contribution to the "All National Team" OF. That was a really unique project, something that I have never seen in PES before: All the national teams of the world, recreated with great accuracy, on PES 2017 for PS4, all made by a small team of passionate players - it took 9 months to do, and hopefully it will still receive some updates and new teams. Same for Ratmundo's classic option file, or the other people that did lots of classic club teams. They attracted (and still attract) lots of people. Things like this should be an example for Konami, how they would get more customers. It would be good for both sides - for the players and for their pockets.

I am still and editor, I will keep customizing the game to my liking, no matter what. Even if I had to edit all by myself, I'd do it, I am not afraid of hard work. The only thing that keep me from editing more is lack of time due to other things in my life.

In addition to what the two fellows above said, I think some editors are angry at the blatant favouritism Konami gave to some groups (Pesuniverse, Pesworld) by giving them 'early access' copies. Nothing against them, as they make great work, but when they get a head start in editing and release all the stuff within days of release, it takes away the motivation, especially if you were making the same league. Option File making shouldn't be a business or competition, but that's what it all seems like this year.

This thread should be on the feedback section. There would be a small (tiny, to be accurate) chance that Konami would listen to us.

I couldn't agree more to all of the above.
This game could be so much more. Let us add pre-set faces (from a list like PES on the PS2 used to do). Let us add more leagues, bring back the stadium editor. Seriously, PES could be the greatest football game on the planet!

As for this guy... (@ashrafyoussef) he should be banned and his IP Address blocked!

I think there has been a number of factors this year that has slowed down the editing community but I feel the main things were the factions created with the switch from offline focus to online resulting in many feeling they are being left behind by Konami and the change from .ted to .bin resulting in many editors feeling let down with the need to create everything again.
I won't even go into the obvious things that could be done to improve the editing side (mini faces, more hairstyles, stadium editor, chants import) many of which have been available before. I once asked Adam about Stadium editor & he just gave his usual condescending reply that only a few people want it whilst hundreds of thousands want the Westafallon, Anfield etc so that's where they have to put the resources. My argument would be put the development into an editor & the community would create every stadium in the Bundesliga & Premier League satisfying both sides. Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish....

It's such a shame as I too feel PES has the potential to be the greatest football game of all time, mainly because of the lack of licensing giving us free reign to create absolutely anything.

Of course none of this is helped by Konami releasing a turkey of an offline game.

p.s. I agree with Anthony the likes of (@ashrafyoussef) should be banned & blocked as they are the parasites that will kill any free giving community

Couldn't agree more with all of you guys. Editing is very limited. Letters and numbers format is outdated, no create stadium option, hidden players and team present still. ML presentation doesn't exist. Four brand balls and 100 red boots - really? I read article where Adam B. said that PES 19 will be diffirent and he is moving to Japan to assist KONAMI in making right steps to create a beautiful game. Lord help us all!!! P.S. Pipp nice classic kits!!! Philips I hope next year KONAMI adds another fake Euro league so you can finish your Segunda Liga project!!!

Thanks Tema. Lets hope we all get what we want in PES2019 because despite all the bitching i do want the game to be a success

Fingers crossed Pipp. I normaly lose my interest fast playing FIFA career mode, PES ML is much better option for me however it needs some new colors:contefix::contefix:

Fellas I honestly think that PES is dying due to the team currently at Konami. They seem to be going in the wrong direction i.e. my club online crap. When PES has always been famed for its Master League. I think it could be make or break for PES 19, they need to come up with something really special to get the fans back
