Quite sad that some random guy can fix all these bugs yet a whole company can't. Really does my head in when not only Konami, but gaming companies in general can't see glaring problems with their games.

Surely people testing PES2012 must of responded back being peeved off about AI dribblers all being Messi, scoring free kicks all time, 5'6 guys winning headers over your 6ft+ defenders etc.

As stated earlier, people need to get a grip, its a CPU - what else can it do - it gets more and more refined each year, but it is limited by the programming. I mean come on, there are only so many things that can be programmed! Things like scripting are there for our own benifit, or at least those that do not expect to win every match they play. It adds excitment, frusrtation, joy... all of which are the reasons we play it.

Edit: I'm going to be releasing an OF entitled "never lose a game ever again". I got a feeling it's gonna be popular as hell :)

You bozo's just slinging shit to the whiners, did it ever occur to you that there is a difference between AI, scripting and blatant cheating?

We're not discussing normal losses and incidents here, we're talking about unreal shit that happens way too often, and more specifically always in important matches like Champions League, World Cup finals etc.

In a normal world team A meets team B in the champions league, and the squads reflects each teams strength. In PES, more specifically ML, team A (you) meet team B (on steroids if the match is important), and that is not due to normal AI, but blatant cheating as a result of lazy coding by Konami.

Jenkey1002 made it perfectly clear last year, when he removed loads of cheat scripts from the AI and refined the regular gameplay AI to become quite challenging. The result was a funnier game, where most losses didn't cause cardiac arrest, because you lost on your own accord. You either got outplayed or you wasted too many opportunities, either way it felt deserved. And losses happened more frequently than with regular KONAMI AI. Commonly referred to as "good losses". So it's not about winning every game, but to get a better game.

LOL, I've more or less had it with this game now. Tonight has just driven me to the brink. I've posted a dozen or so times about my findings but nothing is changing. Tonight had a game v Wolves, battered them scored in the 77th minute, guess what they score in the 79th with one of their only moves of the game.

Then very next game v Arsenal, game was closer but I took the lead in the 85th minute. Guess what?!?

I replayed it a dozen or so times from various angles and it the scripts definitely, definitely kicked in. Arsenal guy has it in the middle of the park, he hits a raking ball to the right wing, my left full back. When the ball leaves the Arsenal guys foot the left back starts shadowing the right wing, then just deviates towards the centre, totally leaving him free. Then in another final humourous twist, he crosses the ball where Carragher is three yards in front of Persie, but Carragher decides to stop play some sort of offside trap in the 6 yard box and by the time Persie is left totally free without a CB in sight, Carragher is like 6-7 yards behind him.

LOL.

I'm sorry, but that was the last straw in what has been a culmination of the last four days of my continually playing PES.

I see it's beauty. But I also see all the hideous things in the game.

FIFA may not be as engaging, but right now I think it's the only way forward. What I'll have to forgive in terms of a bit of gameplay, I'll no doubt make up for in just a little bit more solidity all round.

This pains me, as I'm borderline in love with this PES, but there's too many niggles now, too many scripts kicking in left right and centre to ignore.

yes, well Messi got quite nice and close control when sprinting, so does ronaldo and anyone with 95ish Dribbling. But Lennon at 83 got really long touches at full speed. Almost too much tbh, but it's better than the original. Lennon is an extreme case though, as he's lightning fast, but his dribbling is relatively low compared to the speed.

I was going to get this for the PS3 but I may as well buy it for my laptop (fairly decent spec) and get Jenkey's patch. Shame the PS3 game cannot be cracked the same as the PC version really. I agree with Sabatasso - that may be a first for me - I'm not opposed to losing but I do object to the game mechanics of the AI. I'm not calling it cheating either, Konami have created code that seeks to challenge the player but I've never played a game that demands so much concentration because of it. I've literally burnt PES into my retina's and brain trying to concentate at such a level to compensate for the inexorable AI.

if i'm very angry and i fully 100% deserved that win, i quit without saving and i let the coach take in charge until i win. i know you think i'm cheating but it doesn't matter as the ai cheats so it balances it out if you know what i mean

Haha, why? why even play the game?

Don't get me wrong, the game is awesome, that's why you're playing it, but obviously in real life a team can fully deserve a win, and end up with just a point or even losing. Why play if you refuse to let that happen to you? Why don't you just close your eyes and imagine that you're controlling a team who wins the champions league in the 4th season, or whatever season you think you deserve to win it.

True I just tried, dribbling vs defence and all feels quite good now, maybe your right and its a bit too much but just a tiny bit.

But the thing is that it does make AI a "bit" less good in dribbling but not much at all compared to you, so for p1 vs p2 its good but AI still has perfect reaction time and execution mostly on that Burst Speed thing and if you don't double up he bursts past you with ease no matter with whom. I wonder if jenkey can even fix such an issue..

It's not "better" AI... it's cheating AI. Nearly unstoppable tbh.

I don't know which post you responded to, but cheating AI is not a new phenomena in PES. And if it was my post you responded to, we were discussing an AI modification that changes certain aspects of the game.

Jenkey1002 released a demo of his tool. I'm smiling already, powerful shots, lighter ball, AI weaker at dribbling, dribbling harder over all... It's all good baby!

i was planning to give that a try but he mentioned a bug about the passing system when AI cheating option is disabled, have you faced anything similar?

i'm curious because it's the one and only option i'm interested in using ;)

So don't use it till a newer version comes out and you can, whats the problem?

Just leave out that option, it still fixes dribbling, physics, and gives you a somewhat smarter friendly AI. It's a tool that lets you tick and untick which options you want, and sliders to decide how much of what.

Last year it was the same thing, the removal of certain scripts resulted in a passing bug, but it got fixed rather quickly. I have faith that Jenkey1002 makes it perfect this year too.

I am usually against any sort of gameplay patches especially from memory hacks. Yet I could not stand current annoying problems and decided to try jenkey's patch. I was really skeptical, but I need to say it is pretty impressive so far. I tested the gameplay all evening with a weak team from ML and a strong team (Barcelona). I was also switching back and forth from the patch to dafault game to compare the gameplay exactly between same teams and same conditions.

I think a little lighter ball and stronger shot is more realistic and adds to immersion a lot. Secondly I think AI improvements balance the gameplay really well. The patch tones down super human CPU abilities in defense to dispossess a human player, but preserves Cpu aggression in attack. Before I could not build almost anything in attack with a weak team, but after the patch the cpu is not as wild as before (I play on professional). Just dropping a level to regular with default gameplay is not the same because cpus attacks become too bad and it becomes too easy to win.

In my testing I was playing same matches again and again trying to see how cpu and me myself is competitive. And the good thing I had both wins and loses when playing the same match over and over again. This was not the case with default setup. With default setup I would almost always win or draw with Barcelona and invariably lose with weak ML team. It was a better test with a weak team. With the patch it was clearly noticeable that I started to get scoring chances and that was realistic. Needless to say that enjoyment is outstanding when you really compete and it is not always win or defeat.

The game is also more fluid with the patch and overall feel of immersion is great. I play with -1 speed setting. I would be totally happy if I knew which variables in memory this patch changes though. If jenkey could give us more info that would be really cool.
