I hope Ivory Coast can pull off a win, but I predict a draw of some sort.

Tizie
Eboue - K. Toure - Meite - Boka
Dindane - Y. Toure - Zokora - Akale
Keita - Drogba

Van der Sar
Heitinga - Ooijer - Mathijsen - Van Bronckhorst
Van Bommel - Cocu - Sneijder
Van Persie - Van Nistelrooy - Robben

Should be a really good match.

I think Holland will win by a narrow 1-0 or 2-1. I like Holland and would like to see them improve because Argentina look alot stronger.

Yeah, pretty much the same sort of game I can expect from the Argentina Ivory Coast game. It will be interesting to see who wins the battle in the midfield. Top midfields on display. On the other hand, I think Holland will win this only by a goal though, Ivory Coast are a tough cookie to break. 0-0 for 60 minutes, Holland scores in the second half. 1-0 final score. Something like that.

Waiting....
If Ivory Coast play like they did against Argentina, they should beat Holland, but it's gonna be very close.

50!

115 and Counting...
I think its going to be a draw. Ivory Coast are superb going forward and Holland's defence isn't that great both sides will probably score so 1-1.

Ivory Coast are finding their feet, finally, but they had to conceed 2 goals first.

Drogba will miss the Serbia game, but it was an undeserved yellow.

2-1! Win win!Yay!

To the next round! We played defensively 2nd half, but I like the new effectivity which we score the chances we get.

Holland seemed to defend for their lives most of that second half, and I feel very sorry for Ivory Coast, they deserved a lot more, and being the best African side in the competition, it would have been nice to see them go far.

Still, I'm happy for the Dutchies, congratulations.

Ivory Coast were quite unlucky again. But i've said it once, and i'll say it again, the goalkeeper is an absolute liability. Van Persie struck his shot well, but the ball was right above Tizie's head. An International class goalkeeper would have been able to palm it over, or parry it, but no, he again bottles it, and crumbles. There's no chance the Ivorians defence can be confident with that clown behind them.

It's a shame Ivory Coast are out. I think they would have progressed from any other group.

Also, if Ashley Cole leaves Arsenal, forget Gael Clichy or Mathieu Flamini, we have a ready made replacement in Robin van Persie.

Well... can't say we deserved that win, but phewww... we're through to the next round :)

Ivory Coast showed some great spirit, kept their heads cool after the 2-0 blow, scored a stunner to make it 2-1, and the whole 2nd half was a thriller, with our backs against the wall. Very frightening.
Holland played foolishly at times, losing the ball way too quick, sloppy in passing, etc etc.

Heitinga didnt have a very good game, a bit sloppy, and the rest of the team was mediocre at best. the subs were very good though, and Van Persie man of the match, not just the goal but his whole attitude during the game, defending well, saving a ball from the line, etc etc. Great player.

Phew... that was a hard group, but we're through. I gotta say... I didnt have all that much fate that we would make it...

Now let's get ready to get our ass kicked by Argentina :D

I would have loved to see them through as well, in any other group(maybe minus the Italy/Czech one) they would have gone through.

EDIT: Reyes nailed it before me ;) Now the Argies match will lose it's value though, I can't imagine us going full on for that. Well, as long as we don't play Jan Vennegoor of blabla.

I still think Holland must be missing Jaap Stam at that central defensive position, I mean they just don't seem to have as much confidence and stability at the back than they used to? Saying that, I can't see too many players beating Van Der Sar, unless it's special - as Ivory Coast's goal was today.

Ah well, their strike force is looking very strong though, with the likes of Robben, Van Persie, then being able to bring on players like Van Der Vaart.

It'll be interesting to see how they get on in future games.

Closest thing we've got is Boulahrouz, just as tough although not as terrifying as Stam. I think he secured a start in the next game, he kept us alive for most part.

I agree though that we cannot sit back and defend, like Argentina. Sure we have a worldclass attack force, who can almost score at will, but we cannot simply play defensively.

Ivory Coast deserved a draw atleast, they put Holland under a lot of pressure. I thought Mathijsen had a good game for Holland but VP was man of the match
