Just Terrible. Want to love PES again but:

Laughable game. Bring back Seabass!! Owned every PES since PS1 and this is frankly terrible. I am done with Konami forever now. To give you some idea me and my son could not complete the first head to head game and had to switch off the game and eject the disk in anger! I am sticking with PES 2014 PS2 played on a BC PS3. This is as good as it ever got. Shame. Konami have zero self awareness as a company and its over with consoles now, for good. I do not think we will see another PES game past 2017 now. Expect a shoddy half assed mobile experience from now on:realmad:

Was it something particular that has made you so angry about the game?

Yes, let me elaborate
-Fouls: Non existent, 20 games (against CPU) at 10 mins, zero free kicks!
-Goal Keepers: Repetitive animation every time.
-Shooting: Scripted, not in control of shots, zero thrill from scoring.
-Commentary: The very worst yet. No difference in intonation from PD and JB regarding the on-field action. Surely should have been a priority?
-Match atmosphere: Generic, horrible noise in Dolby Digital 5.1, does not correlate with on field action.
-Defending: No skill whatsoever in winning the ball from the attackers. Easy to steal just by holding a button!
-Online: No comment from PD about online progress, FIFA does this very well! Every Seasons game in FIFA feels like a an event, promotion winning games give me the biggest buzz in video gaming possible...
-Transfers: Konami could have paid a a student on work experience to do this task for day one?
-Passing: Still a delay when a player plays a pass, kills the game for me.
-I lay it on the line here I feel the demo is a different game than retail the version? Does the demo work better because it's stripped down so much, I do not know. No wonder they left the commentary out of the demo, it was to hide it!
If it was up to me Konami should of made "PES ONLINE" simple, concentrated and an HD re-spin of PES 2014 PS2

I hope you appreciate my view guys. Please give me your thoughts...

Totally agree with all the above, I've bought every version since ISSPRO on the PS1 & think its been losing the gameplay for years. I too had hope playing the demo that it had speeded up & was less clunky as I call it, les scripting also, then buy the game & its back to delayed passing!

I've also fallen victim to the old chipped through ball online countless times even with 80+ rated central defenders.

And to demonstrate how much Konami are bothered I got blocked by Adam Bhatti the PES Euro Community Manager on Twitter by speaking up to question whether Konami had a quality control team at all for PES. But hey I'm a loyal customer to the game & that's how they treat you!

Think I'm done for good myself now, they do they same thing year on year without really listening.

Moshstar - Bhatti loves blocking people on twitter, you're not the first to be blocked harshly, and you won't be the last. I mean, I understand if he blocks people for being abusive, but he just seems to do it whenever someone says something negative.

Simple. Ignore Bhatti. He's a paid off fan. Why do you think Jon Murphy quit? The writing was on the wall! Lets face it Konami are the type of company trying to out Hideo Kojima!

I dream of a soccer game not made by corporate arse holes. A community approach like Project Cars maybe the answer. Lets contact Sea Bass and crowd fund the genius!!! Anyone know what he is doing? This is the only way to get the PES we love back...:realmad:

Nah, give 2K Sports the license, they know how to make a good game!

I agree! Does anyone complain about NBA 2K Series or Top Spin? I do not hear them. They just play and enjoy the games. PES was the only game that I would still be playing on the eve of the trade in a year later!

I just want my PES back...

NBA 2k games are beautiful but there are lots of gameplay issues as well.

Me and my son played NBA 2k15 for a couple of months last year but stopped playing after realizing the stupid things going on the game. I particularly hate how a player can dribble in zig zag until the defense gives you space for an easy drive to the basket.

Hi there

I dont agree with you, although PES has many flaws and shortcomings, but its still a good and decent footie game, the game is surely far from being great. I can understand why you complain.

I started playing PES since PES 3, PES 6 is a legend for me, but those days are gone. PES 11, 13, 15 is quite nice, PES 16 is better than ever, these days I just played PES 16 like nonstop, really enjoy the game.

Looking at the bright side of the game, it definitely progresses forward. PES series is the only video game that I can play for more than 6 months, very durable, I get every penny worth for buying the game, unbelievable.

Judging the game right out the box is something that most PES players do. Give the game a chance to be patched and iron out all the flaws in it. I know Konami has always had shortcomings in their new PES installments, this years new one is no different. I'll judge it more come November/December.

I felt last years PES demo and retail versions were different. I agree with most things you have said aside from the keeper. I feel they are the best there has been. This game will continue to be my offline game but Fifa will be the game I play with friends as I feel they do this alot better than PES.

If you went 10 games without being fouled then you're doing something wrong. I draw half a dozen or so fouls per game. You have to draw the player in and get them to commit, otherwise they'll just take the ball off you. Which is what I suspect is happening.

I'm not sure what you mean by delay in passing. If you mean the player should pass as soon as you press the button, then this would be unnatural and arcadey. It's just added realism, by having the player be on the right footing before they can make the pass. No different to the shooting mechanics.

And if you keep falling foul to the chipped through ball pass, change your tactics instead of using the default. Sit deeper, man mark etc.

Have to agree here with the chipped through pass. If I'm playing with a team with really quick defenders, I'll have them push up, so that when I get the ball in the opponents half, I'll have them sat in their own half for large periods of the game, just like Bayern and Barca do. If you have players unable to keep up with the speed of the play, you need to made adjustments to the back line at all costs, or, you'll get punished every time.

My opinion...
i dont know what people are raging about,
i mean maybe its because i am not that bothered about graphics so my standards arent that high, but the game play is amazing

yes, considering this is a full price game i will admit there is very little change over last years besides for some animations, tweaks to gameplay, and new commentator

but gameplay is so much smoother

i love the new commentator they better keep him for next year

i have installed a new mod to make the pitch look nicer

there is no excuse though for the old roster, even if you overlook the graphics, the old team rosters are unacceptable
like why is raheem sterling still at liverpool
also there is no way to block a player on pc version unless you play in the tournament, finish the game and then block
ie if its a friendly match you cant block the person it sucks!

all in all i love it, but konami are very lazy with the things stated above, and their lack of regard for pc users, ie making it very hard to block people, their lazyness with roster updates, and the deceptive pictures of steam which are not from the pc they are from other consoles!

i bought it for a reduced 20 pounds so i am happy and it is definatly an improvement on last years, but i would never pay the full 40 pounds for what is just a small upgrade on pes 15!

Well said, the op clearly plays Fifa also per his comments and sounds quite bitter to me.

The funniest one is the delay in passing and you explained it perfectly.

Literally the only the thing I don't love about the gameplay is the awful keepers, other than that it is great and easily the best next gen football game

I have to say im surprised by what I've read here. I've been on Fifa for donkey number of years, due to the superior presentation, dribbling and other stuff, but I've picked PES 2016 this year, and its in no way an easy decision because ton of people will queue up on launch day just to get Fifa 16, most of which wouldn't have played the demo yet and are just blind faith to the franchise.

I tried PES 2016 demo and my was I surprised, its a whole engine overhaul, a ton of new animations makes the pitch livelier than Fifa 16 does. Which is why im puzzled by some of the comments here. Granted its not the same game anymore, but I'm liking and is giving thumbs up to the changes thus far, for a game with such a huge step forward in gameplay, i can put up with a few quirks here and there.

Have to say im relieve, im so done with Fifa and its FUT grabbing my money opening packs.
