You must have never played PES 2017, 2016 and 2015.

I did.

And all three of those games, including 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011 were all garbage compared to PES 2018.

Can't wait for Master league on PC.

Can't wait to see what they do for 2019 & 2020, too.

This game kicks a--- compared to FIFA and Football Manager. Which would make this game the best football sim in the world. FIFA clearly spends all their money on licensing. Because their game looks and plays like crap.

Love the overhaul in gameplay. The animations, the physical contact, the ball physics, the keepers. All good.

Hope they never get rid of 'coach mode'. I noticed that they buried it in the new menu system, making it harder to access.

Only thing I've noticed (thanks to TheTrueBrits mentioning it) is the frequency of outside of the foot passing - and the absence of fouling / freekicks.

Aside from that, it's a good (ahem) evolution, of PES17 which was a perfectly fine game in most respects. The major area EA beat Konami in terms of aesthetics is the amazing presentation and commentary in FIFA18.

I've been playing the demo for 2 days now (PC Version)

- The graphics are outstanding
- The stadiums are really well done, great atmosphere and sense of size
- The grass looks good upclose but the pitch in the default view is a bit too bright and homogeneous for my taste
- The goalkeepers are remarkably good
- The AI as a whole is much better
- Opposition AI is much more difficult (compared to PES2016). I can win most games in Top Player, but lose/draw with goals 90% of the games in Superstar. Defending vs Liverpool and Dortmund is extremely hard. Dortmund is way too hard even, their direct game to Aubameyang is almost impossible to counter
- Animations are the best I've ever seen
- Game speed 0 is way too fast. I play in -1
- Dribbling is very good. Players like Coutinho and Pavón can work wonders in this game
- Set pieces are much better

Overall, this is the best PES ever made, by far. And as a consequence, this is the best football game ever made, by far. Good times, I'll probably buy it when the price drops.

There's new Legend difficulty which unlock after you beat Superstar 5 times.

I agree but GK are unrealistically good. A 74 OVR GK can make incredible saves.

Last year game had flaws but I really enjoyed it, could win easily on superstar. This year superstar is much more difficult, which I don't mind. The issue is the CPU way of playing feels unrealistic and scripted and that's why many people enjoy the game only against human players..this is so far ruining master league for me. You could have the best players in the world and yet can't hold the ball against some 2nd division team

I tried it last night and it's honestly the most I've enjoyed a PES demo in years. Really like how the game plays. Actually felt like I had to earn an attacking opportunity to get a shot off and just the way attacks develop just look real to me, if that makes sense.

Liked the AI too. When defending, if I took a defender out of position to try and close the ball down, the computer would likely punish me instead of being clueless what to do. Saw one instance of dodgy Goalkeeping but they definitely seem improved and not too over the top.

As long as there's no BS over updates etc. I think I'll pick this up.

Ah forgot to mention the most impressive aspect of the gameplay. The physicality of the game. The holding of the ball. The importance of the Strength on the Ball stat. Gonzalo Castro is a great example. They way you can go around a defender holding him off while dribbling, holding back a centre back while waiting for a pass, the AI getting a striker to fight for the space inside the box... it's honestly beautiful.

You're right in something Bish, attacking is more rewarding in the sense that you really have to work for it. It's a difficult game that has to be played calmly and attentively.

It's better than it used to be, less scripted it feels, but in Superstar the AI is perfect. Every shot they have is inch perfect, just flying by the post. Passes are never misplaced. It just seems they never make a mistake. Top Player in more realistic in that regard.

tried the demo aswell today, i have to say this game technically speaking, graphics and animation wise, is far ahead of fifa 18, but the gameplay aspect, to me nothing changed, its basically an updated 2017 not even updated, its the same game as 2017, same types of attacks, goals etc, i can;t understand people saying that this is a different game, the shooting even is the same, there is no feeling to it, i have no satisfaction when scoring a goal, its the shooting mechanism that is letting this game down...
