I am very surprised there isnt a thread on how poor online play is!

Its laggy as hell!

I am playing on PS3 and me and my friend have fibre optic broadband. 50mb plus! so its not our connection.

Its unplayable online and really frustrating! so many bugs, you cant even kick off properly.

Look over here mate...hXXp://winningelevenblog.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=9
And search for online camera. because of the fact that those amateurs at Konami implemented only ONE camview online, which is wide angle, it's slow, laggy and unplayable. Every connection will be (when youre lucky) one bar or less! No man, great game offline, but online its a big mess. Konami once again fucked up a great game... They didn't even finished it. Save your money and skip pes 2014. I play online for 90%, 2vs 2, 1 vs 1, but its unplayable...also due to the laggy camsettings. What a joke, what a fucking joke Konami, you assholes.

I think I know one of the reason why European players with PS3 are complaining with online lags.

PS3 is waaaay more popular in Asia than 360. PES is also a staple of football game in Asia.
PES reg 2 Europe (for PS3) is already out in wild in the most part of Asia, and they sell like hot cakes.

So if a gazillion of enthusiastic Asian PES 2014 players go online and connect their PS3 - or may I say 'contaminate' - European server, naturally, both parties online matches will lag as a drag.

Blame Konami (and unofficial game distributors) for releasing PES two weeks ahead than Winning Eleven in Asia.

Grossly incorrect!

The Asian region has nothing to do with the lag in PES.

There is merely a couple hundred fans of PES in that region....not gazilions.

PES has always suffered from online lag ....it is in its DNA.

I am a bit surprised that fans are saying the game is unfinished......Konami has not completed code on any of the PES series since PES 06. Isn't this the reason why Jenkey's Patches are so popular year after year?

Maybe next year we will promote "The King is Back IV".

peace

Couple hundreds eh?

I live in Asia, I play PES since PSone, and you grossly underestimate the passion of PES Asian players. There are large PES communities in Asia spread all over the countries, especially in South East Asia. That my friend, equal large numbers of audience.

Here's only one example of one FB group of one single country of die hard PES fans:
www.facebook.com/groups/PES.ID/

Local players buy PES because:
1. It's released earlier than WE, local game distributors, obviously, sell whichever popular game that comes first.
2. PES has better OF
3. They have no idea that Konami online servers are region divided

Also, I stated that it's only one of possible reasons, among other things.

Btw, gazillion is only hyperbolic, but sure you get the idea.

http://www.vgchartz.com/game/70988/pro-evolution-soccer-2013/Japan/

Japan Annual Summary (Units)
Year Yearly Change Total
2012 390,466 N/A 390,466
2013 86,192 -77.9% 476,658

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro_Evolution_Soccer_2013#cite_note-14

Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 received fairly positive reviews, receiving an aggregated score of 81% from Metacritic.[13] It also received 8.5 out of 10 from IGN for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version, as well as 8/10 from GameSpot.

The game sold 399,000 copies in Japan in 2012.[14]

Based on the numbers reported ....."a couple hundred" would be an ideal description over "a gazillion"...especially in that area where there are a gazillion people living there. :w00t

Winning Eleven has two regions: Japan.and the rest of region 3 Asia.

WE Jap version is exclusive to Japan and they have their own server.

Back to the rest of Asia:
PES reg 2 Europe is already released earlier than WE in Asia.

Apparently only few here understand what 'hyperbolic' on 'gazillion' means, so OK, let's use the term 'thousands' instead.

Thousands of Asian PES players with region 2 copies are logging in on European servers. Thus the lags.
European Xbox 360 players do not report any problems in online lags, because 360 is not popular in Asia.

the overall package just seems rushed out then fixes certain areas with patches over time, for me this is not good enough especially online where you cant have a decent game without lag, button delay, cursor problems, players freezing, players running out of position i mean who wants to move right stick one way and left stick the other just to go left right whats the matter with the d pad.

oh another thing anybody know if konami are even doing anything about it because the pes guys on twitter dont seem to be saying its bad online or offline
they are saying were not giving it enough time (i know how can we when online is pathetic) if this is the final version they intended not just a few but a few thousand or even more will for the other footy sim

final thought with an action lol

if konami dont sort it in a week or two im trading mine in an getting F i F a.

peace
