Guys,
Latency is killing me. See my post regards.
I've tried everything to resolve, including spending alot of money and time - I'm a network designer (optical layer) for one of the UK's main ISP's so I think I'm pretty clued up
However, a chance encounter with another technical guy online on PES 2010, (he apparently knows someone close to Konami) has now lead me to the belief that I now know what is the main problem here. Bearing in mind I've tried: -
Changing my modem
Checking my UBR
Cabled direct to the modem
Optimising the TCP/IP settings
Changing my PS3
Changing from TV to monitor (to reduce any input lag)
Changing TV settings to reduce processing time
Using a network optimiser
Pretty much everything you could imagine - and I'm privy to the technical guys in my ISP too.
So the chance meeting yesterday I had with a certain player - has now lead me to the conclusion that much of the above is now irrevant - in fact inconsequenial.
What he told me is that if you install the game after the 1.01/1.02 patches with a clean install or you remove game data after the 1.01/1.02 becoming available (1.03 onwards) - you will be missing key configuration data which in effect will not be replaced and give you potential configuration issues with missing linking data - which in effect is making the game more "laggy" on line.
Apparently Konami - "also know about this", but do not want to create an uproar with it's clients so prefer to keep the matter low key.
The problem is that people like myself have done a clean install or removed patches and re-installed when they think there is a problem with lag so tried to rectify - so actually possibly making the game even worse online!
To me this is a serious issue if TRUE - which Konami have to deal with ASAP - Konami are already losing players hand over fist due to the bad performance online of PES 2008/9/10.
Anyway, have you had problems too since deleting game data or re-installing after 1.02 - let me know?
