Guys I thought I'd pop in here and say Konami have nailed PES 2012.

Preview code has hit some place, mine is around a week away, and trusted sources are telling me the games has come on another level. We're talking shooting, keepers, more added animations (don't take it as FIFA level, its not) etc, the game is loads better.

Also, there's some huge announcements coming at Gamescom. So huge, that I can't describe how happy I am. We're talking modes and licenses. When you hear, you will cry with joy.

But I've been sworn to secrecy, so much so I can't even hint. But it's better this way, Gamescom will be incredibly epic. PES is back, in a way not many are expecting.''

This sounds promising?

BELIEVE
Adam from WENB is known to overhype the upcoming PES release, no matter how good or poor it is - because that's pretty much his job.

I wouldn't take his word as gospel, but I am intrigued in his line "PES is back, in a way not many are expecting." We know what to sort of expect from the gameplay, it's these apparent 'surprises' that have caught my attention though.

Thanks for the thread though.

Or that this year's PES is actually an FPS. :hmm:

That'll throw a spanner into the works!

come on, the news has got to be very big judging from the way he said it so it can't be the stupid nets or this guy's on crack.
EPL license or something like that.
what else could make a hardcore fan cry with joy?

If this game finally got the EPL license I think I'd be willing to fly to Konami Europe and Tokyo and shake their bloody hands. Don't expect it's that though, unless The PL have realised more exposure and more money is better than exclusivity.

The FA Premier League would actually lose money by accepting to sign with Konami also. EA Sports you see pay astronomical figures to ensure they have the licenses "exclusively", and if it's not going to be exclusive then EA won't obviously bother paying that much money considering Konami won't either (as they just don't have much money themselves). So ultimately, The FA gain far greater money by signing on exclusively with EA than if they were to do a deal with both EA and Konami.

Unfortunately.

Yeah they can''t get the epl and ea have bundesliga rights till 2015 so it might be that the copa bridgetone sudamerica will be licensed or new and better commentators. Or no more fake or duplicate players or the turkish superlig or a classic XL
Or i could just go on and on

Whats amazing is that EA must be doubling the license fees or EPL and Bundesliga would simply be refusing to go exclusive when they could get more money. I wish I knew how much that was.

It's probably something shit like the J-League/K-League or MLS. I mean, sure... that's great for the Japanese/Koreans/Americans..... but nobody will pick the teams online will they?

In my opinion, gameplay is all I care about because for kits we have edit mode that makes the league and kits look alike. In all honesty, WHY DO PEOPLE CARE ABOUT FA PREMIERSHIP when the league is there and all you gotta do is download an option file or a patch or make them yourself? Not that hard to do.

Ofcourse, better ML is also what I care about because ML is good.

i really dont get why people care about licenses so much, unless u play exclusively online, i hate licenses because i cant edit my team into new kits which i do every year of my ML, imo it add realism

More atmosphere (stadium, crowd, etc) gameplay ofcourse and online options. I would prefer they dont waste their time on buying expensive licenses. Just create ALL leagues of the World with fake names.. But create reall online competitions where you play against other players. MLO was the biggest improvement the last year but need much more improvements. So i hope they have skip the complete offline modus and full concentrate on online features :)

I love licenses because I want to play with real players in real kits not those created in my or someone's head. I don't play ML because I want to play MU, Liverpool, Lazio with their current roster. I want Tevez to be Tevez, not Taver or something like that. Of course the rescue is the option file editing and bless the folks who share their countless hours of work with us. But it surely would be nice to plug and play and to have more frequent roster updates from Konami.

I would agree with you but the option files are actually much better than anything fifa or pes can do originally. I mean option files are even out by the time you get the game, i prefer the customization.

I never even open pes till i have an option file, or i just play with other teams.

I would actually prefer if the whole game was open to editing then we could really make it great.
