[LEAGUE/FANTASY] League of the Americas

After piggybacking awhile on Millerson Fantasy Kits and Logos thread, I've decided to make my own post featuring my fantasy League of the Americas.

In this thread, I will be posting a series of fantasy leagues built from scratch (including logos / uniforms / team names etc.) on the premise that soccer in the Americas (North / Central / Caribbean) had the same rich history as on the other side of the ocean. For players, I am attempting to start each team with only homegrown players.

For example, the North American league has players assigned to their birth state e.g. Christian Pulisic of Hershey, PA would play for Bethlehem Steel. I also include non-US dual-nationals Guisseppi Rossi (New Jersey Blues) Neven Subotic (Reno Rovers) assigned to team closest to birth cities - even players born in America with no national team ties like Gotoku Sakai (New York City SC).

The same goes for Liga Centroamericana where Mexican players are split into teams based on birth city e.g Carlos Vela born in Cancun stars for Club Cancun. There are also essentially national teams e.g. Costa Rica FC / CD Honduras / Club Canal (Panama).

For the Caribbean League, I had to get more creative. Using some of ggdaris national team files as well as importing basically every possible dual national, (e.g. half of Netherlands is eligible for Suriname / France for Martinique or Guadeloupe) I was able to get some pretty competitive teams featuring players with real-life ties to the fake clubs.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible option files already out there and full credit to Nicoultras, Voltes5 (MLS file) for helping provide the bones that make this option file fully playable and realistic for me. For now I'm focused on the teams, logos, and kits, but eventually I could upload .ted files for the full league assuming I'm able to gather permissions from the necessary parties.

This is a great idea! I've been following that kits thread, so many great ideas. Nice to see this project it's coming to life.

I was thinking of creating a few caribbean teams myself (I love the "exotic" football), but real teams, like Montego Bay, Centro Dominguito, Cibao FC, Parham, Central FC. But that would be later, I still have other things to do first ;)

Liga Centroamericana

Liga Centroamericana

Claro Liga Centroamericana fantasy league features 18 total teams including 13 teams from various Mexican cities and 5 teams featuring players from other Central American nations including Club Canal (Panama), Costa Rica Futbol Club (Costa Rica), FC Nicaragua (El Salvador/ Nicaragua), and Verdes Belix (Belize / Guatemala).

The 13 Mexican city / state teams feature players from (Erzo77) Liga MX option file as well as players playing abroad in Bundesliga (Cristiano92), EPL (Nicoultras), etc. They have been assigned to their "hometown" team. Due to the sheer number of players born in Jalisco and Mexico City, those locations have two teams. Where possible, I tried to assign players to the team that made the most sense. I am going off transfermarket and wikipedia for birthplace (not much firsthand knowledge of players) so I'm quite certain some players may be in incorrect locations but I did my best to use locations that created balanced teams.

Most of the option files are ready to be uploaded but if anyone has a line on an option file for the Nicaragua, El Salvador, Belize, and Guatemala national teams it would be a huge help in completing the rosters. Also, I'm still determining whether to include foreign players who received green cards while playing in Liga MX in order to avoid counting against roster limitations. For now, I have only included longtime LigaMX foreigners who were mentioned as potential eventual El Tri callups.

America One

Dodge America One

America One.zip
Dodge America One is the top-tier of my fantasy American soccer league featuring twenty teams located across the country. Players are sorted to teams based on their hometown or homegrown status (where they were living during formative years -- e.g. while Alejandro Bedoya was born in New Jersey he played in Weston, Florida during his high school years).

Dual national German-Americans play for the Milwaukee Bavarians (unless specific information about visiting family in US cities was found). Non-American dual nationals (or players who lived in America during their youth e.g. Ibisevic) play for the team closest to where they lived.

I am wrapping creation of the tier-two teams (which also features a few US players as well as current and former MLS players) at which time I'll upload the .bin files which include a huge number of US players (including young prospects as well as other players not available in other option files).

TEAMS:
Alabama Hammers
FC Alaska
Albuquerque Athletics
Bethlehem Steel
Boise SC
Chicago SC
Dallas SC
Fall River FC
Great Lakes United
AC Louisiana
AC Los Angeles
SC Miami
Milwaukee Bavarians
New Jersey Blues
New York City SC
Ohio Valley SC
Port Baltimore
Reno Rovers SC
Saint Louis SC
San Diego SC

New / Redesigned Logos

Despite getting slowed down by life, I have still been steadily working away on this North American fantasy league option file concept and it is finally nearly ready to release in full. 44 total teams featuring fantasy teams from throughout the United States and Canada. Built on the bones of other option files but with a huge number of original MLS players, foreign based players with US ties, and US prospects.

I anticipate being ready to release individual team .ted files early next week and will compile them into a single download once they are all finished.

In the meantime, here are some new and slightly tweaked team logos for your enjoyment.

How's this project coming along? Looking forward to playing this.

Sorry for the delay. I've been recovering from an unexpected surgery on my knee (ACL reconstruction) and been out of commission. I had all the finishing touches on teams but when I booted up recently after the newest update I didn't have right boxes checked and now players are scattered everywhere on wrong teams. I've slowly getting them all migrated back to the right teams (luckily they are still all in free agents). I also wanted to overwrite the squads on top of English teams so the banners are in the right language, but I'm hoping to start getting a few posted at a time -- especially since interest has been expressed.
