Can you make lobs?
I can make lob. Here is my technique: When you are alone with 15-25 meters, and when the gk comes on you ( in the medium of the penalty area ), press the shoot button ( square ), then press ( when the power shooting is on its end, 3/4 filled ) the R1 button.
Normally, the player shoots when he is running; the shoot must make a pretty curve. If the shoot is flying ( like an up-and-under in rugby football ), it does'nt work.
Finally, if you want to succeed, you will need much try (and much of failures). But after you will make very beautiful lobs.

P.S.: sorry for my bad english :p , but i'm a french fan of pes2

there's the chip shot you can do when you change the button configuration so that the chip-shot is executed when you double-tap shoot.

i've scored only 1 goal like this, it looks kinda cool but a little bit unrealistic

I'd say the Shoot then R1 is easiest.
Followed by L1 then Shoot.
Then the double tap shoot.

And in the R1 one, you can fake out of it with X.

i find the double tap method easiest. i have scored loads of goals using this. its easy when u are through one on one with an advancing goalkeeper to score using a double tap, if u get the power right it should nearly always go in.

Whats the double tap method. Yes its a newbie question but I have never used it and just wondered when it's best to use it and why you would.

Thanks.

You need to assign the double-tap method in the Button Configuration. It's an option at the bottom of the screen.

Normally, the dinked shots (double-tap) are best used when the keeper is just at your feet, but they can work well from a bit further out if the goalkeeper is just running out towards you.

For the power of the double-taps, it's not literally a double-tap in all cases. It's a tap-tap and hold method, where you tap square instantly followed by a lengthy press of square - the longer you hold it the more powerful the dinked shot will be.

I keep meaning to try the double tap method but I play on 5 stars and can only think to beat the keeper in the best way possible so can't. Will have to try it on a lower level match or against a human.

L1 lobs are easy to over-power, making them go too high and over the goal.

R1 lobs can be used to chip the keeper if he is close to goal and also on the edge of the area and it can usually go into the goal.

Is it poss to do Owen's TM goal? Where he curls into the top right round the keeper as a kind of lob-cum-shot thing? And also do people play with the over the shoulder view? How is that for passing and scoring, etc? Can't see that you could use it past hard?

I think that view is great is mainly for taking free kicks as it helps you judge curl. I read somewhere that you should change the camera just for free kicks.
But then you'd have to change it back quick if you miss!
Worth trying in training though.

Not sure about the owen shot. Scored a few using normal shoot and one kinda like that with R1 lob.

I have scored a few lobs in my time

Mainly L1 lobs though cause i find R1 lobs quite difficult.

I have found that it is generally easier to score with R1 lobs when using 2 CFs and L1 lobs for 3 CFs.

L1

Best way to score in the game is the L1 lob :D
If u are playin a mate, then they just look plain stupid, R1 lobs are for the neat and tidy finishers (Viduka, Nistleroy etc...) that just like to lift it nicely, but L1s take a lot more judgement and precision I find!!

I think L1 chips are more likely to miss the goal than the R1 method. Both look cool and make the keeper look foolish.
