AS I always said, Fifa is for people who has never played real football.. IT s an arcade game..
Only superior side of Fifa comparing to PEs is licences of teams..
according to realism, gameplay, grafix ( the pitch, faces, ball they are all better in PES series) Pes is always better than Fifa.. I never buy Fifa..
I even played the demo of PEs for 3 days, 6-7 hours at least per day...

Jesus christ. That FIFA poll is for the PC game. It is completely different to the next-gen console version... which, assuming the PES demo is a representation of the final game, shits all over PES this year.

yeah everybody knows EA doesn't put in any effort with their pc games. I bought FIFA09 yesterday, and I'm really enjoying it a lot! The pace is just right, and if you don't like the pace you can adjust it. The AI is very smart, creates good chances and it defends superbly. It is a very very good football game, and it shows in its reviews, it mainly gets more or less 9/10 everywhere.

The custom team tactis is really good, and it runs at 60fps, which makes everything a lot smoother and playable. Now don't get me wrong, I've played PES since it was called iss pro evolution on PS1, and I'm a huge PES fan, but Konami just doesn't put in the effort needed to stay on top, I hope PES09 is brilliant, but the last couple of years Konami just didn't do enough in new features, licenses etc. And the gameplay is now back to PES05, not a good sign for any developer if you need to go backwards. Konami better pull out all the stops with their ML next year, EA is promising a complete revamp of their manager mode.

your an idiot. PES is an arcade game! play the PS3 version of FIFA 09 it's fantastic. I have to take my hat off to EA this year they have done very well. FIFA has been changed alot from 08, the pace is fantastic some of the neat little tricks are amazing (without using the right stick) I scored a fantastic goal with rooney where he back heeled it into the goal. The passing is fluid and looks very realistic. PES has got a very big challange this year and i think if you generaly like football you are going to have to get both games.

I'm planning on getting both games, but I really don't know what Konami are going to have to do to come out on top this year! The animations, fluidness, atmosphere of Fifa really makes it an awesome game.

Yeah that's what happens when EA add all the little things that are in PES and base their game on PES 3 gameplay.:p Seriously though, every year with Fifa brand new chipped through ball a few fifas back, low cross before that, now it's Custom Team Tactics.... wait.... haven't we been able to edit everything about our squad in PES for years;)

PES FIFA PES FIFA PES FIFA

blah blah blah blah..

Any of u fanboys stop and CLOCK that that forum was FIFA09 for the PC?

NOT THE CONSOLE VERSION.......

IT WAS OLD GEN PC VERSION....

Both FIFA (Consoles) and PES this year are solid well polished excellent games. Which one u are going to prefer is down to personal preference. FIFA has the realism and by far the most superior depth of gameplay but PES is undeniably more exciting and plays much nicer in the goalmouth action department.

Problem with PES though is that it is essentially just a polished up sparkly version of the same old game that we have been playing for nearly ten years......with the same old agonising flaws persisting in the gameplay.

If I had a (360, PS3), I would be playing FIFA09 this year....but as it stands...I will be getting PES2009 for PC:

I've been a Pro Evo man for the last 6 years and bought FIFA on the PS3 to tide me over until PES comes out.

FIFA is the same every year! It is just so boring. I don't know about you, but my idea of football isn't the ball rebounding from player to player in midfield as every tackle is successful. And then finally when the ball is somehow controlled by a player, it takes a simple through ball to get behind the defense and then it's a simple 1 on 1 with the keeper (7/10 FIFA goals are scored this way). And I'm not saying this because I'm bad at the game. I've only lost 3 games because I use this simple tactic.

Pes 5 was the best simulation. So going backwards is a good sign. If they improve on it, it will be great.

Yeah i know, but still, now that they are trying to go back to the PES5 days, it's a engine they already own, so what did they do in the other 11 months, they lost licenses, created 5 extra stadiums, and...uhm...a minor graphic update and...uhm...got the edit mode back to where it was 2 years ago without further enhancements. That's not enough sorry, did you guys know fifa has 46 stadiums this year? I'm not a fanboy of fifa, neither of PES, but facts is facts...Fifa has put in a whole lot more effort this part year compared to PES.

Friday when fifa was released...David Rutter, the executive producer of Fifa was on the fifa forums to listen to peoples opinions, flaws they can write a patch for etc. i have never in the last 10+ years saw Konami did something like this, if Konami keeps on ignoring their fans, and Fifa continues getting and listening to customer feedback, fifa will prevail as the winner eventually.

I makes me sad that PES is now the one that has to prove itself after last years dismal effort, I always was one of those people slating fifa and no matter what my beloved PES was the best. But Fifa is catching up, quickly. This is also the first year that you feel the difference between players, not nearly enough though, but there is a difference between Michael Johnson and Lionel Messi in Fifa.

I really hope PES09 is good, Konami simply cannot afford another bad outing.

I seriously cannot understand this HYPE thats all of a sudden surrounding FIFA.....that game SUCKS man! are ppl stupid? wow

I found the game to offer a aspect to it that not natural to the game.
1. Curving the ball with the thumbstick. IE: a straight kick of the ball can bend 90 degrees using the thumbstick.
2. AI defensive skills seem to be the same regardless of difficulty. This make them very predictable. So when you crank the difficulty up it's "more of the same".

I am sure there are a few others.
