Some improvements that I would like implemented into PES 2014:
1. Stadium and merchandise upgrades - buy new stands, new superstore, statue, buy merchandise like replica shirts and footballs. Also design your kit for each season to make each season more fresh and get feedback on whether it is a good or bad kit from your fans. You could have an unveiling (like the amazing press conferences you get when you sign someone).
2. Ability to change teams, also add individual team managers in so you know when someone gets sacked or retires and you can get an offer or you can apply for the job.
3. Bring back a better Club boss mode - make it like Football Manager.
4. Make signings easier for big teams - you can sign Messi if you're the best team in the world!
5. More player slots - I always run out of slots. We should be able to have up to 46 players so that youth players can start in the game and more youth players can come through.
6. Ability to swap players.
7. Ability to promote youth players at will (not just at the transfer window)
8. Bring back news feeds - if a player misses a penalty then the news gives them stick and if they score a hat-trick then they get praised. When you go into the news then their interest/price goes up/down.
9. Build an academy in a specific country to find 11-16 year old talent to sign for your youth team. If you're in England then you can get mainly English talent.
10. Hire a youth team coach that manages them and plays youth matches with the team and gives them experience. Youth team rankings can tell you which teams have the best youth teams so you know where to go for the best players. e.g. West Ham, Man Utd, Barcelona should top the rankings to start the game.
11. Players get experience when on loan (if they play lots and play well) and ability to send more players on loan. Also you can pay to recall players from a loan if they are doing badly or if you run low on players.
Also you should be able to sign youths, loans and free agents during the free markets not just during the transfer window.
12. Set the budget for items like food and match day programmes so that you can sell more, make your fans happier (with better quality) and get prizes like in real life for best match day programme or best superstore.
13. Add more competitions like Community Shield or the League Cup (one for top tier, one for D2 Leagues).
14. Pre-match cut-scenes showing goals, matches or pictures from previous matches or your cup run history (especially in derby matches).
15. Ability to add your own intro/credits to competitions like the Europa league and Champions League intros but for FA Cup or La Liga. Additionally you should have the ability tochoose to play it before each match in that competition (while it loads) so it feels like you're tuning into the game on TV.
16. Ability to change the theme for each competition, like the Champions league is blue stars, europa is red with yellow ribbons but have it for premier league (blue with the eagle).
17. More leagues e.g. add a russian league or League 1. They don't have to be licensed, just fake teams.
18. International management - manage your favorite country. Also get to see U21 matches and find new youth heroes.
19. Add history of game in - find who won the league in 2017 or who was top scorer in 2019 and add their stats in. Also find out how much your team have developed in the game.
20. Ability to see a mock match programme before the match with their players and tactics and see what your players have to say before the match.
21. Ability to change ticket prices so you can get better attendance and better support and give special offers away e.g. buy 2 get 1 free.
22. Crowd support - the crowd chant player's names and they support you well when you are good or unlucky or when you win but 'boo' you after a boring match or a poor performance.
23. Ability to have multiple league systems all on-going e.g. La Liga to Adalente, Ligue 1 to Ligue 2, Premier league to League 1 all go on during the same master league.
24. Players retain form - if a player does well, then they keep a red arrow for a long time to show that they are on form.
25. When you rest a player they keep their form/stamina for a week or so.
26. Add an interesting transfer deadline day with a longer day, surprise offers from teams desperate to sign or replace someone (with more money).
27. You should be able to choose 3 sponsors from a list of 10 each season and they become visible on your kit or on your advertising boards. Also you can allow players to be sponsored and sell naming rights to your stadium for money!
28. Interact with fans - set up open days, press conferences, open training and trial days and see if they liked it in the news.
29. Get summoned to board meetings every 2 months to check progress and tell the board how you'll improve the team.
30. Finally a hall of fame - have an interactive area where you can add your heroes from fa cup winners to club captains, and you can view their legendary stats and status from 100 appearances to 50 goals and their international stats. e.g. world cup winner!
Hopefully someone at konami could look at this and add these into the game. I just hope at least ten make it into PES 2014. I know the edit mode will be better with more leagues but simple things like changing clubs and more player slots can make PES a much better game.
