the whole mode was rushed
i scored a hat trick in the first game but still started off with crap stats ??? why konami why please stop wasting time on yet another metal gear game and sort out BAL

I gotta agree that the gamemode seemed extremely rushed.
Or maybe not the gamemode per se, even though it is very, very lacking in terms of content but the fact that the AI is utter and complete shit makes it bad.
That said, I still play it like a madman but it just doesn't feel fair 90% of the time.

the whole AI from the team mates to the manager just garbage and i still play it more than any other mode but the fact that i can make a heavy (weight) player and his body balance still comes out as 66 is just wrong

I'm sure BAL will be different However it wouldn't be realistic, in ly opinion, if they just gave you 80's-stats in everything just because you have score 3 goals as 17 year old. In that age its normal to struggle to play first team football.. I'm sure you would find it boring if you just got crazy stats after 1 good match. Cheers

Personally, I prefer it when I start out with pretty shitty stats.
The first year is suppose to suck. And it's suppose to suck hard. There's been a few 17 year olds who've made an impact but most of the players in real life won't show their true potential until they're in their early twenties.

If you start using special control button to recieve passes, and do a few (double back taps and a forward tap) and some of those simple tricks with the ball before passing it along to a team mate you will get much higher stats than if you just bulldoze ahead.
The starting stats reflects what type of player you are based on the scout match, 10 shots at goal, misses or not will give you more shot power, technique and accuracy than 3 goals in 3 shots etc.
I've played really long scout matches where I did not make a single mistake, got 8.0 match rating but scored no goals as a striker.
I had 16 attempts at goal (mostly long shots), no goals, loads of passes and one assist.
I got starting abilities in the 70's in many areas like, technique (77), Shot accuracy (71), Shot Power (76), Stamina (78), Mentality (84), Attack (78), Agility (83), Top Speed (80) and accelration (77)
I thought that was a pretty good reflection on the players actions on the field, except my passing stats was rather low despite i had near 100% pass completion and did not pass conservatively.
I'm not saying match ratings and starter stats isn't flawed, but they aren't terrible either.
