Kinda of that happened to me-only I transfered Wemerica option file 3.0 to memory card and it corrupted it-I could only load that Option file, lost all the other saves (which by the way I didn`t care for :) ), but I couldn`t save anything within WE9 (couldn`t try any other games cause I gave them all up for PES and WE). In the Browser meny of my PS2 said:Memory card,3,256 Mb free, No files.
Funny. What I did next, I Formatted it with Max Drive software, and it worked again. Maybe you should try formatting it more times-that`s what I did to be sure and it worked. Good luck.

hi i just got my ps2 max drive, when i load the cd it just says "disc reading" and then nothing happens(the max drive being in the usb slot). pls help me in this regard. it works perfectly on the pc. my ps2 is pal and it is modded.

If your PS2 doesn't want to read the disk, maybe try changing the position of the PS2. Or clean the laser. There's a guide to cleaning the ps2 in the General Gaming section I think.

tried the disc in both the positions, it reads all other dvd games though, y not this one. but any ways will clean the lens and try it again.

nope its a silver fat ps2, code no is scph 50004 and pal. i fiund quite a few scratches on the disc should i write on a new cd and check.or is there some other way ???

Zygalski, is it also possible to format MaxDrive itself, in the browser screen of the MaxDrive software on the PS? The one where you choose MC or MD? I managed to format MemoryCard, but if I press square (for formating) with MD selected-nothing happens. And also the same question like many other-can I use other USB pendrive (I have already tried with one, but I think that it`s broken-gives me problems with normal PC files also-corrupts it all the time, and MaxDrive software can`t read it).Should I try other one, cause 16Mb is not enough...

no use, after wipin the cd its detecting the cd and when i press X on it(max drive in the usb slot), it just goes blank and then the screen with 2 mem cards comes. what should i do know, is there any other cd for the ps2 or the max drive comes with only one cd.

Max Drive should come with 2 disks. One for installing the program on your PC and one that must be in your PS2 for the transfer to work.

superandrea, you should be able to plug the max drive into the pc usb port and delete everything. Not sure about formatting it. never tried it.

Just an update if anyone cares but my mem card is workin again. only been using it for the only game that counts (pro evo!) and its workin, but strangely it wont recognise a save game file for true crimes that ive put on it from my MD. though i havent yet double checked that i defs uncrushed it so it might be my bad. anyway its workin for pro evo and givin ive already lost GTA im happy enough!

Thanx mate, but I was just thinking like `formatting` it with PS2, cause, if you remember FloppyDiscs for PC, before use, they had to be formatted to fit PC files because of the compatibility. I was just wondering, cause I have 128Mb pen drive, which would be more usefull than just 16Mb MaxDrive, but my PS2 doesn`t recognize it. Otherwise, everything works fine...

I couldn't find an x port problem thread (and I did search), so may I ask my question here. When I put my X port CD into the PS2 and all I get is a clicking sound. I laid the PS2 on the side and tried again no clicking, just a Disc Read Error. I have opened the PS2 up and cleaned inside, tried different positions and there are no visible scratches. I am seriously annoyed because I bought my X port due to having the same problem with the Max drive.

Anyone know any solutions?

I would think it's safe to assume that you have a problem with your PS2 unless both disks have some problem with them (possibly scratched or something?). Try both disks in another PS2 to see if they work.

USB Drive

You guys seem to be most knowledgeable on all issues relating to Option files. Could you please help out with the below query.

I have an AR MAX and a USB Drive (but not a Datel one). I have downloaded option files to my PC and transferred to the USB Drive, when I view the USB Drive on my PC the files are present.

When I load the AR MAX CD on PS2 the Memory Manager shows no files on my USB Drive.

I spoke to the guys in my local Game store and they think I need a bit of software for my USB Drive. Is this so? Where can I get it and if not can I just burn the same option file to a CDR and then use AR MAX to copy to my Memory Card.

Any help greatly appreciated, regards.
