Started the game on hard with free aim but decided to drop it down to normal when i got too about chapter three, I was dying quite a bit:hmm:
The part when you're in the football stands after taking out the sniper was really difficult . Anyone else struggle on that part on hard and free aim?
After i finally got past that part after dying about 5 times i sucked it up and dropped the difficulty

Any tips on how to handle guys when they're just rushing you while in cover?
The part that i mentioned in the spoiler tags was annoying because you get in cover but the motherfuckers have got a death wish and just rush ya'.

Now i've dropped the difficulty i'm dying less but it's still hard on normal.

Graphics are beautiful on the pc version and shock and horror the game has been running buttery smooth. Very un-rockstar like.

PS ..... Very nice to be using a 360 pad again for shooters|D

I think you just have to anticipate when the guys are going to rush you, shooting them in the face first time obviously helps too....

I think the thing you're doing wrong maka is playing it like a traditional cover shooter. Things go much better and easier even on hard when you are shoot dodging or running with bullet time on.

The AI is pretty good on hard so that cover shooting just doesnt really work.

Yeah it was pretty difficult, I found when I could find good cover and slowly edge away from it revealing as little enemies as possible I got good results. Pick them off as you see them and try be aware of who is going to rush you. The more you die on a level the more you know about the enemies, just keep their movements in mind, more often than not they repeat similar movements.

Bullet time and diving are also invaluable.

I'm playing on hard with free-aim on and am really struggling on a bit in Chapter V.

Bit just after you find the empty room with the camera then you clear out a room and jump down from a ledge to be faced with a horde of enemies. Chucking grenades at you every ten seconds and as if that wasn't bad enough I get blown up every now and then by the gas canisters getting blown up from gunfire. I try to shoot them myself but it's hard to get them all while taking bullets from all sides. The bastard enemies just rush you all the time too. I tried staying on the ledge and drawing them in which enabled me to kill three of them before a grenade somehow managed to land next to me despite no windows and no-one in that little area. Pissed me right off.

I don't want to put it down a difficulty so I'll give it another go on another day. Any tips would be appreciated.

Yeah, i've read something along those lines Jonno about you shouldn't play this like a conventional third person shooter. I think i suffered quite a bit early on in the game because i was trying to play it like Gears Of War etc.... I think it might just be poor timing of me using the slow mo because once it's gone it doesn't fill back up and when you start getting swarmed it gets tough. I don't think i'd have any problem eventually completing it on hard but it just annoys me dying like 4 or 5 times on each chapter. For me it takes away the enjoyment . The only game i try to complete while dying a whole lot is COD.

Took me a good few times even on normal. Just had to stay on the move diving into cover a lot. If you stay stationary, you're going to have a bad time:D

I got through it in the end after a few tries earlier on. I'm just at the beginning of the next chapter now which is just as chaotic. Will take me a while to get round to completing this which I don't really mind.

I swear we've got no aiming choice on PC - free-aim or free-aim. I started this yesterday, just reached the start of Chapter XII. Excellent game.

You do if you're using a 360 pad:point:

Not actually used auto aim but the options for soft and full lock are there.

I'm not a fool, I use keyboard and mouse. The whole point of playing it on PC (aside from better graphics) is that I don't have to use a sodding controller.

A good way through Chapter XIII now, will finish the game later today but for now, sleep.

Sweey you being a man and playing on hard mode?

Of course. Spent an hour on one fight in an office on Chapter 12/13 last night. I hate those fights which end in a 1v1 against a fully-armoured soldier with a powerful machine gun who never stops closing you down. Lucky headshot or death. Mostly death.

Well done you :bravo:.
I prefer to connect it to a big screen and sit back and relax while playing games rather than hunched over a typing device. Personal preference eh..

Personal preference yes but who says keyboard and mouse is hunched over? Can play it on my 40" TV if I want to as the graphics card is connected to both that and my 27" monitor.

I sit back all relaxed and then get killed ten times over.

Finished - excellent experience.

I think I know the office part your referring too, if you've played the multi-player they use the very room that part is played in. The guy is hiding in the press and you have to clear the room. The place you start in is a nightmare, I specifically remember the closest guy too you on the right has a shotgun and would do major damage if left there, that and there was steel between you and him from the position you start so he could shoot you somehow but you couldn't shoot him. Took me awhile to get that one, slow motion dives to the right and hid behind a large steel locker which offered some protection. The guy in the press got shot afew times aswell when I dived past

There's two incidents of the protected guy, the second being much the harder experience... well that was until I used the super sport shotgun against him. That quietened him fairly fast.

Congrats!!!!

Also did anyone else notice that they give you more painkillers once you've died enough of times, it was a welcome bonus.

Yep I did notice this - a very welcome bonus indeed. Certainly needed it for the last section of the docks.

I've got the itch to return to the first two games now even though each of them has an absolutely horrid fight I loathe.

One thing you should check out is "New York Minute" using the character "Classic Payne". ;)
