I finally got PES 2017 a good three weeks after release. I like it enough. I like it more than PES 2016. But I'm not sure 'enough' is, well, enough. I want to love it and I just don't. Once you've played a few games it starts to feel no different to last year really. The demo made a good fist of making you feel it's totally different, but then demos always do that.

Having said that, there are two things that happened to me when playing recently that would NEVER have happened in 2016. The first, in an offline game an AI assisted Jordan Ayew actually got booked, for diving, against me!!!! For DIVING!!!!!! How cool is that!

The other thing, again offline against the computer, the AI scored a quite magnificent back heel. They flung in a corner the ball bounced around and fell to their striker about ten yards out, on the floor with his back to goal and he HAMMERED it with his backheel and it flew past my GK at the near post. It was an AMAZING goal.

None of this would have happened last year, to my knowledge. So plus points for that!

It is happening again

I can confirm that this did happen to me a few times in PES 2016.

Same as Ali and even more. I've had bicycle kicks, heel kicks and a scorpion kicks scored against me by the AI. But those are rare occurrences, you're right.

I'm in my second season of ML and not had any injuries as yet.
Has anyone experienced the same?
I was hoping this would be different from PES 2016 :(

If you didn't have any so far, it is different. Injuries in PES2016 were quite common.

Nope. My pes2017 ML experience is different from yours.. Had a couple of injuries to my players each one around 4-5 weeks...and currently in in the middle of the second ML season.

Midway through my second season and I think I've had one injury each season. Last season it was for around 5 weeks but this season my guys is out for 11 weeks.

I wonder if how you play or difficulty level would impact this. If the cpu is tackling and pressing you harder I'd guess there would be more likelihood of injury.

Just Professional so that may be the reason

I this just referee error, or a game bug?

I just had, in the space of about three or four games, had two incidents whereby the computer AI opposition were storming into my penalty area and I totally took them out with a sliding tackle. After much deliberation the referee blew his whistle and.......pointed to a free kick outside the box!!! I was pretty shocked because even whilst playing I could see it was in the area, and this was only backed up when I went on to the replay and paused the action at the moment of impact - it was about a foot or so into the penalty area!!

I wasn't complaining of course, but twice in four games seems a crazy coincidence?? Maybe it's just a cool example of realistic refereeing errors?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Early & Late Goals.

I suspect these are 'scripted'. For quite a number of matches, the COM and I could score with the first attack (within 5 mins of either first or second half). Then around min 40-45 / 85-90 if you are controlling the game (attacking), just punt the ball towards the opponent goalmouth, or cross the ball left & right. If you don't get a goal by one of your players connecting with the long balls, you'll be presented with a loose ball for one of your players to blast it into the goal. Hair-pulling feeling if it's against you of course..

In few occasions, these scripts are so blatant that I need to stop playing the game to cool down. I had this experience once; It was ML. My team (club) was leading 1-0 in the 94th mins. Scoreboard indicated only 1 min of extra time..Ok, I understand even in real life referee could still go over the indicated extra time. I had just survived a series of late onslaughts by the opposition and my keeper was taking the goal kick. I was so relieved and thought it's 3 points in the bag. Press the O button to the max..and to my horror, I saw after my keeper kicked the ball, the ball bounced back to him, as if it had hit an invisible object on the ground in front of the keeper. The ball then bounced off the keeper knee, dropped to an opponent striker standing not far in front of the keeper. The striker kicked the ball into the empty net. 1-1.

I was so consumed with rage that I didn't save the replay. Well, I had to buy a new controller too, afterwards unfortunately. Anyway, these scripts don't stop me coming back; no other footie game can match the gameplay..yet.

So, above is my answer to tomassi's question on 'game bug'.

About injury, I had none in my 10 seasons of PES 2016 Master League. For PES 2017, I had 1 injury in each 3 seasons so far.

Has anyone won a penalty kick?

I played over 200 games of PES 2016 and never one a single penalty -_-

I just got PES 2017 two weeks ago; about to enter my second season of ML playing the BPL with Leicester City and I have yet to win or even take a penalty kick; despite being shoved down viciously or chopped down by the A.I. in the box.

I had few penalties, not much, but they are there. Probably depends from the style you play, I usually play through wings and try to get into the box as often as I can.

I have one issue with PES 17. I didnt want to create new thread, so maybe it will fit in here, because its a thread about mixed feelings. The problem I have is actually not about gameplay, but about the graphics aspect. I dont know if its my tv, if its my ps4, hdmi cable, or if its part of PES graphics, design (like the blur during replays).

I have bought new tv, samsung h6400, all other games like fallout, hitman look great, but I have problem with most of the sports games and especially with PES. I always get lots of blur, especially during Champions League intro, while camera zooms through players, I also get various lines on players beards or goalkeeper back when he is about to kick the ball and various kind of low texture things during replays. Here are few photos:

Pixelated Hazard beard:

During replays I always get this view (players kind of low texture, pixelated and blury)

Is this a common thing or this is clearly because of my tv?

So, no one else sees these lines and pixels? If so, then there is something wrong with my tv or hdmi cable.

Hi I have the same problem on my Samsung 46F6740s. I got PES at release and was really impressed with the graphics. I haven't played since, due to my brother liking Fifa more, and waiting on these DP. Last night I updated DP1 & DP2. And put an OF. Went to play on the new Liverpool stadium and got really rubbish graphics. Then I went to check faces and look at Hazard. It can't be my TV as Fifa looks perfect. Also it was fine before. I played about with the HDMI cable, settings on TV and still nothing.
I tweeted @officialpes but still no answer.
Any suggestions?

Hmmm, interesting, maybe it has to do with most of samsung tv`s? I remember Sony Bravia had some problems with ps4, but then they released some kind of update for this tv and everything was fixed. The thing is, as you`ve mentioned, all other games seem to run pretty smooth and they look really nice, apart from PES 17. I was eager to know if this was a common thing, maybe thats how it is supposed to look, but since only you responded (another samsung tv user), I start to think it has something to do with these tv`s and PES 17 specificaly. I think I have the latest updates on my tv and there is nothing much that can be done.

HDMI cable is good, tv-ps4 settings do match. Thats pretty much it, nothing else I can do.

The thing is that it was working/looking fine when I got Pes. But after the update it started looking like this. I also added that OF so I don't know if it has something to do with that. I've also deleted my PES settings from the PS4 menu to start fresh when installing the patch so I don't if any of these have something to do with it. I've order myself the Samsung KS7000 so if it still looks like this there is definitely a problem with PES. I've tweeted @officialpes two days ago but haven't had a response. I've played about with the TV settings to get it to look better buy underneath I can still see pixels on the hair or beard. It's happening for Hazard Costa Giroud David Luiz

Let me know how it looks on your new Samsung KS7000.

Hi. In the menu is the same. Hazard's beard is badly pixelated. Maybe someone else can post a picture of how it looks in the edit menu?

In the game is better and on the KS7000 it looks nice. I'm thinking maybe this has always been the case but I have not noticed it :shocking:
Reason why I'm saying this: I've deleted the game, config and OF files. Reinstalled the game, launched it without the patch, still the same, updated it to 1.0.3 still the same.

So it's not the patch, it's not the OF file. It's not the game or TV.
I'm not willing to reset my PS4 for PES, I'd rather sell it and be done with it.
I'm planing on getting a PS4 Pro and might test it then, if I don't sell the game before.
I still feel that when I first got the PES it looked better but maybe it's just me being silly and thinking PES graphics should be better.

I only found one more person saying that PES doesn't look Full HD after the patch, but no responses. I just need to know if it's the same for everyone.
@officialpes still haven't given me an answer so I'll probably just sell it and play Fifa :). Such a shame.
