This is a copy 'n' paste of a post from the forum will a little detail on this years ML

'INTRODUCTION

Initially, Master League looks the same as last year. Choosing real life players or fake players is now a simple option, as Konami have removed the PES Shop. More on this element at a later date. After you choose the look and nationality of your persona, you enter the press conference where you are presented to the media.

Sat at your desk, you are introduced to your secretary, and she talks you through everything in ML, similar to last year. You are briefly introduced to the new boots acquisition and shop within ML, but nothing in-depth.

The start of change

As you enter your first match, you’ll realize all your players are wearing plain black boots. Not only that, the opposition players are also wearing plain boots. After the match, I was awarded a pair of Nike boots.

In ML, you unlock boots to assign to players, and this will give them a stat boost. The boots you acquire though can only be assigned to one player. I unlocked around 4 boots in my first season. They have different abilities, so by unlocking the Adidas F50 it will give the player I assign it to a boost in pace.

It’s important to remember that the opposition are going through the same process. I played Barcelona in the CL, and players like Messi and Iniesta were wearing fake boots. Not one of the opposition player was wearing a boot they would in real life, but they had on different boots with different abilities.

Micro-boosting

In ML you have a new menu called Items, which consists of ‘Shop, Item List and Equipment’. The shop has access to 18 different stat boosting abilities, from strength training with dumbbells, to a cycling machine that helps stamina. These items cost points, which you gain from playing the game in general. So, Konami have removed PES Shop of old, and implemented it into ML.

What’s key to remember is that each element purchased can only be assigned to one player. Also, some elements last for a set amount of time, like a season.

Each player in ML now has an Item menu, which allows 3 slots, plus a boot slot. So you can give them 3 different stat boosts, and then boots to compliment that.

As an example, you could give a player like Andy Carroll stat boosts in dribbling and pace, and Adidas F50 boots.

Here's a screen as an example, showing Abbiati with dribbling cones on one item slot, attacking stat boost on another, and Nike Tiempo boots: Please note, I purchased Götze in the first transfer window

Overall

To sum up, ML has become a mode that looks to move away from a traditional approach over the years, and incorporates a less authentic approach but heavy game elements in a bid to keep you playing for longer.'

LOL in that case I would not take hours editing boots. I hate when players wear this fake WE boots, I just go around changing for real ones. I like that we can upgrade stuff, that makes us get more involved on the team rather on only playing games and transfer windows. Since changing teams is not available, I would love 2 things they are gone: To offer players + cash for a transfer request and the league table just before the match is starting. That reminds me how important is that match.

The boots micro stat boosts is a pathetic idea though.... luckily I don't particularly like ML so I won't be bothered much by any daft changes...

I thought Classic players was a terrible idea anyhow, glad to see it gone to be honest.

never really liked it either it was only good for the hidden German players (I dont know why Konami just doesn't make the entire German league hidden and with fake names). This new boot system sounds "interesting" not in a good way but I cant hate on it till I actually try it out tbh.

How can anyone see this as a good idea? I was hoping for more realism from the Master League this however borders into rpg territory and dare I say more Japanese type of gameplay,...its like Pokemon for God's sake, its ridiculous!

What shocks me most though or perhaps its more that I just can't fathom that Konami who have said for the past few years now that they are heeding, listening and taking on board what we the fans want by reading through our forums/sites then introduce this boot system thing? This has not been asked for by any fans so instead of introducing things that have been wished for this long time like changing clubs they introduce this...something nobody wants? (save mainly a Japanese market which I have felt this long time is the most important thing to Konami anyway)

I also think Konami have been quite smart (you could also say 'sneaky') that they haven't released info on this yet, I think they knew ML fans here may not be thrilled with this (or at least it was a risk that they may not be happy) and so all the build up was focused very much on the 'gameplay' that had improved. Maybe thats an understandable marketing strategy but it still boils my blood that they did it

The Structure is the same milenec.

As for the boots news, I've been reading a lot of Adam on WENB to try to understand exactly this new addition.

It seems you can bust up some stats depending on the shoes you buy.

I don't find these so bad (unrealistic though) but what I hate is that EVERYONE starts with FAKE boots. That makes no sense to me, that makes the realism and the beauty of having the boots YOU want for every single player gone. Even though I hope konami can try to fix this in any mather just right the release day. There's more than 90% of the fans that are really mad about this.

P.D: I'm so jealous about FIFA been able to coach club and national team at the same time!!!!!

Just a notice. You don't buy the boots. They will be unlocked throughout the game:no:

So the boots you assign to a player increases certain stats depending on the boot......there's realism gone straight out the window!!!!

Why isnt anyone looking at it this way- remove the whole boots nonsense- If as a coach you could focus on certain stats to improve on a player would you complain? This has the potential to offer some nice micro management of your team.

I mean this happens in real life all the time- Stehpane Mbia was crafted into a beastly centreback by Deschamps and he was just a run of the mill midfielder when he originally came to OM. This isn't as far fetched as people are making it out to be.

Just wish they can give an option to edit cups. We'd be able to create a replica of the EPL cup and FA Cup so that the presentation can be brought back after the Final game (not just the CL cup presentation)

Stringer has a point.. the only thing I dunno like about all this is that EVERYONE will have black boots, that sucks in every single way.. The other features are awesome and I do hope are full implemented.

Looking at the pictures upload from ML, it seems on southamerica there are 2 more editable leagues apart from the brazilian, this means we have 2 more editable leagues? The copa libertadores it seems to be licensed all the way on ML.
