National team desired number?

is it possible to choose desired number for national team?
i started with the number 23, then got number 19, had number 11 during the world cup, then back to 19 then 20 for the qualifiers now back to 19 again. the players using numbers 7, 9, 11, 10 in my team are all under 21, i think thats a bit unfair.

from my experience i only had the possibility to choose desired number on tournaments and qualifiers for tournaments (world cup & euro).
basiclly official matches, not in friendly matches...
