Think I'll get this near release date as well.

Surprised there's no mention of Michael Jordan.

I'll be getting this, but I'm more excited about the possibility of NBA Jam coming to the Xbox.

Best sports game ever!

Having said that (and putting my subjective views aside), last year's game wasn't a MAJOR upgrade over 2K9 eh? What y'all think?

I am still playing 2K10 with updated rosters and its still the only thing that keeps me glued but it was more of a 2K9.5.

Anything new on 2K10? Major announcement apparently in a few hours from 2K

Wow this has gotten me really excited! I grew up setting my alarm to 2am in the mornings to watch Jordan and the Bulls win their championships! It's going to be amazing playing with all the classic Bulls teams!

Anyone who played basketball games back in the 90's know how frustrating it was as a Bulls fan to play with a Bulls team without Jordan...I simply cannot wait for this game anymore!

[NBA 2K11] will have a mode called the "Jordan Challenge." The mode allows fans to play with 10 different versions of Jordan that are authentic to that moment. [...]

The games that fans can play with different versions of Jordan include all of the following:

-April 20, 1986 (Game 2 of the 1st round of the playoffs against the Celtics when Jordan scored 63)

-March 28, 1990 (regular season game against the Cavs when Jordan scored 69)

-June 3, 1992 (Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs versus the Trail Blazers when Jordan scored 35 in the first half)

- March 28, 1995 (Jordan returns to the game and scores 55 against the Knicks)

-June 11, 1997 (the famous Jordan "flu game")

- June 14, 1998 (the day of his last game in a Bulls uniform as his last second shot gives the Bulls its sixth title under his reign).

This is going to be fucking awesome. The amount of times ive seen those games on DVD is countless so I should know how each game played out. The Celtics 63 point game will be my favourite to copy.

Yeah, I just wonder if I have to end up losing though.

Whilst Kobe's 81 was very good it wasnt exactly breathtaking, he was on a really bad Lakers team who couldnt play for shit. His 61 vs Dallas over 3 quarters is more impressive.

NBA 2K11 Preview
Basketball has never looked so good.

Last year's NBA 2K game was solid. There's no doubting that. It featured the same good looking gameplay that we're used to with an insane amount of fidelity in terms of the animations the series has always possessed. Yet, when I sat down with NBA 2K10, I found myself staring at a bunch of cool-looking basketball moves with the feeling of total control being a bit muted. But man, they sure did look great. While I'm happy to report that this year's NBA 2K still looks wonderfully polished even in the early build I just played, gone are all of those canned animations that constrained some of the action to looking more like a movie than a user-controlled basketball game. ....

What if Portland drafted Michael Jordan instead of Sam Bowie? It's the question that has been keeping Blazer fans up at night for decades, but "NBA 2K11" is finally going to let you see what life is like with His Airness in the City of Roses. In fact, any NBA fan who ever dreamed of Being Like Mike, or at least having Air Jordan leading their franchise to a title is sure to be intrigued by the game's new MJ: Creating a Legend mode.

"This is a brand new experience that we're delivering to our users this year, and it's a mode that's not immediately available when you purchase the game," explains "NBA 2K11" producer Erick Boenisch.

Gamers will first need to complete all ten of the classic match-ups in "2K11's" Jordan Challenge by recreating moments like the night MJ dropped 69 on the Cavs or reliving his rivalry against the Bad Boys of Detroit.

Then once The Jordan Challenge is beat in its entirety, the single-player, offline-only Creating a Legend mode unlocks.

"The idea behind MJ: Creating a Legend is that you're going to step into today's NBA with a rookie Michael Jordan," says Boenisch. "He is rated a 79 overall, which gives you plenty of room to improve, but he has all of the physical tools of Michael as a rookie -- the fast speed, the high jumping, the quickness -- but he lacks a lot of the shooting skills and the offensive and defensive awareness. So you're playing with a raw prospect who can do just about anything, but can't deliver in the clutch just yet.

"And the cool thing about this mode is that you're player-locked to Michael Jordan, so you're kind of re-creating the career and the legend of Michael Jordan."

He should have called it quits forever after that championship winning shot. What better way to end a career? Anyway I hope they don't make this too easy, otherwise it'll get boring really soon. Well stoked for this game though!

'The Shrug' sounds quite difficult. Having to stop a great scorer like Drexler and then scoring 35 in the first half? Shooting 6 3's in the first half? Sounds like a killer to me.
