Wow, a genuinely great video. I really liked the commentary and explanations too, a nice breakdown of not just Allen's play, but the Celtic's too.

Thanks man, I'd rep you but I've apparently done it too much.

He's so right too. Lost count of how many times I've seen him hit a 3 to inspire a comeback from the Celtics, or to kill a teams hopes. Absolute money.

It's such a pretty jumper as well. Dare I say the best-looking one on any player ever.

Seriously, how good is this game? I've spent so much time in the My Player mode, in my 2nd season (with the Timberwolves) playing 10-real life minutes per quarter. Difficult first season but I'm 16 games into my sophomore season and averaging a triple-double as a PG (23p, 11a,11r).....and also 6 turnovers :hmm: . I'll probably kick up the difficulty setting if I keep this up. Truth is I really have to work for those numbers though, nothing comes easy.

End of the first season I could pick from a few teams to go to:

Celtics (Rondo still there)
Lakers (no real PG after Fisher retired, but with Kobe and the triangle I figured there wouldn't be much in the way of ball-handling)
Bucks (Might as well stay then)
Portland (Miller has retired)

Decided to stay with Minnesota, they traded Wesley Johnson for David Lee and with Kevin Love already there.....lots of rebounds, little defense. OJ Mayo and Michael Beasley as SG and SF. I still get moved to SG in-game for a few minutes sometimes because of a PG rookie, pisses me right off.

I do well in the key games but I got burnt for 40 points by Rodney Stuckey in one game and even managed to set the season record in both turnovers and offensive rebounds. Haven't dunked once, despite a 6-3 frame and a pretty decent elevation. I went mental when I managed to throw some good alley-oop passes, but I overdid it and just looked like a tit with a teammate jumping in thin air while the ball bobbles out of bounds

I know I can call my own plays but it's too convoluted for me at this point, usually I just try to find the open man because if I run the set plays it's usually a Michael Beasley or Kevin Love isolation.

13-4 record in my association mode with my LA Clippers team under pro difficulty so definitely considering moving it up to the next difficulty. Traded Wesley Matthews (part of my greg oden swap) for JR Smith as I just love his dunking ability.

Greg Oden has been off the hook, huge blocker. Kind of regret not doing 10/12 minute quaters now at a 29/52 game season, I'm doing 5 minutes at 82 games.

Does anyone know if you can change the amount of games you can choose at the end of the season?

I really regret taking my players talents to south beach in my second season. I don't know why I moved because I already mastered the triangle offense with the Lakers and they were a team I could've moved to. I guess I got hot by the same hype bug as Lebron in real life being the current MVP, Rookie of the Year, Finals MVP

Right now my team are unbeaten at 15-0, I turned the difficulty a long time ago but it's just way too easy. At least with the Lakers, Fisher was no longer there and the their chemistry rating was at 0% so that wouldve been a great challenge. I won't ask for a trade, I'll simply wait for the management to do something about all of us. When I say us, I mean PG, there are 6 PGs on our roster. That being said, ive been asked to play all positions apart from Center. I take the challenge on board guarding guys physically stronger than me, I'm already 6'7 so height isn't an issue when guarding them.

After last season, winning the Championship with Detroit (rated 28th in the league), I had to set high goals. This season I aim to:

Become the first player to average a triple double since Oscar Robertson.
Lead the league in scoring, assists, steals and rebounding.
Be named to the All First-NBA and All Defensive teams.
Win the Defensive Player of the Year award.
Become a back to back MVP
Lead Miami Heat to beat MJ and the Bulls' 72-10 season record.
Win another championship.

Then jump ship at the first opportunity...

I'm also playing My Player and I am a Center who is averaging 16 points, 15 boards and 1 block. The Rockets drafted me and well I am only waiting for Yao to get traded so I can finally take hold of the starting position. Its so realistic and I love every ounce of the game.

I don't mind joining you guys for a pick-up game if you are into it. As usual my ID is nikos24 (PS3) and I play every Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

2k Servers are down atm so i can't create a 'crew'. I see Hunter's got his game though. I dunno how it works though but I'm guessing that we each need to pick a position and create a my player there so then we're not all PG's or SG's. I'm Happy to start my bloke again and play PF.

NBA 2K11 arrived today. :nath:

Straight in the gym I go.

EDIT: Was going to head up to Newcastle tonight to meet friends and chill and whatever but a few seem quite busy so I'm content with staying in today/tonight and having the ultimate chilled day. I'm on Lost season 6, with 5 episodes left, so they'll be watched in pleasure. I've also headed to the shop to make some purchases for my NBA 2K11 gaming too - big bottle of Sprite (Slam Cam bitch), some Doritos and large Zig Zags (for tomorrow night). Got the day ahead, like every geeks dream.

EDIT 2: Just realised I also bought a £1 mix up. :nath:

Come at me bro.

You have it way too easy man

I won't ask for a trade either, mostly it's shit teams that are interested and the board just asked me for trade recommendations. It's strange, I'm averaging Big O numbers and still the commentators seem surprised when I drill a long-range jumper over someone (I call those Luol Dengs or Kobes). It's always derogatory....show me some love man!

If you can make it in Minnesota, you can make it anywhere. What's the most difficult opponent you faced in terms of match-up? There was one game where I held Deron Williams scoreless for 3 quarters when he was averaging around 26 a game :smug:

Good stuff, I get in a game now and then but I'd rather just take the time and get in a flow......time isn't on my side.

I'll need time on my side since I currently suck at the game. I'm in the gym right now practicing, trying to get some moves down. It's all about practice, of course. I've already learnt a lot since just yesterday. I'm aiming to get a lot of the moves under my belt and stored in my head, and then move onto the plays in which I can integrate the moves and whatnot. It'll take time and practice, but I'm in no rush. Hopefully by the time 2K12 rolls around I'll be genuinely good at the game, and not just 'good for a relative beginner'.

I'm rated 49 now in My Player, think I started at 42. Now starting to become a rebounding beast :D Averaging 15 points, 11 rebounds now!

I'm not going to lie, I've basically played my first season on 'My Player' on rookie level...

Got 61pts in a 20 minute game against the Rockets.

BELIEVE
I'm just playing on Pro right now since I've not actually played the game before properly.

I won my first game with the Knicks against the Bobcats in a quick game. Only 5 minute quarters, still took about 40 minutes what with all the adverts and NBA Today at the "HP" Halftime Report . It's all a bit much but it adds a nice authenticity to the game really. I really enjoyed my first game though. Momentum really shifted several times during the course, with myself and the Knicks really dominating in the 1st, especially thanks to Felton and Turiaf. It was then quite neck and neck the following quarters and the Bobcats kept creeping in front, real back and forth. It went down to the wire in a low scoring game full of incomplete percentages, but it was a Stoudemire who came up right on the buzzer with the winning shot from 20 feet, and the ball bounced off the backboard and bobbled around the rim to finally sink in.

Bobcats 40-41 Knicks

:nath:

So much damn fun.

I don't really want to dive into the career modes just yet while I suck so much, I really want to try and get some basic skills and knowledge down. I'm really quite poor with the shot stick at the moment, but I'll get there. I feel somewhat of an affiliation with the Knicks, what with experiencing how special New York is (I still miss the damn city), and of course experiencing Madison Square Garden. Not saying I support the Knicks to be honest, but if I was to feel any emotion toward a team, it'd probably be the Knicks or the Raptors (I love Toronto too, awesome place, awesome people).

The Knicks are good team this year. They have in my opinion, the best fans in America. Very knowledgeable in the sport but have been deprived of a good team to be proud of. MSG in the game, is great, the game has all the arena sounds to mimic MSG in real life.

I love how a lot more of you are giving the game attention because its the best sports game ive ever played in terms of realism and gameplay.

For anyone really trying to improve the ratings of their player the fast way, from what Ive done, the best attributes to improve when starting up are:

Offensive and Defensive Awareness
Hands
Shoot in Traffic
Ball Security

And then of course any attributes that suit your players position.
