The Knicks are good team this year. They have in my opinion, the best fans in America. Very knowledgeable in the sport but have been deprived of a good team to be proud of. MSG in the game, is great, the game has all the arena sounds to mimic MSG in real life.
I love how a lot more of you are giving the game attention because its the best sports game ive ever played in terms of realism and gameplay.
Yeah, I seen a lot of Knicks stickers, hats, jerseys and whatnot when I was in New York. They seem to be a very proud collective, which is so respectable. I was talking to a Knicks fan (hot dog vendor) and he was telling me his history, and the stories he had of the Knicks, it was quite nice. He gave me 10 cents off as well since I was English and had a photo took with him.
I have to give 2K credit again, and I will say it's one of the best sports games I've ever played hands down. Not only is the gameplay solid as hell, but everything I've witnessed about the game so far, even down to little details such as after game 'Pressbooks' etc, it's truly brilliant.
I've just had another game there, but thought I'd try the Hornets now against the Celtics. I lost by 7 points in the end. As with the Knicks, I started off very strong and took a double digit lead but by the start of the third the Celtics well and truly had momentum which I just couldn't counter. I just had to utilise Jack and Paul mainly and hit the 3 pointers where I could, what with Shaq Diesel posted up in defence and Garnett too at times. I wanted to play a statistically better team mind, since you of course learn more by playing tougher opposition. Needless to say Allen taught me how to play though, he performed a beautiful spin into a 3 point fadeaway in the 3rd, it was majestic.
What I love about the game minus the obvious, is it's complexity, it isn't particularly a pick up and play game. It's almost an art in itself being able to master it, and that is where the challenge is, and a good challenge at that. It produces some truly "wow" moments and you really feel a part of it. When I hit the winner on the buzzer with Stoudemire to give the Knicks the win, I leapt up and fist pumped - along with all of the crowd and Stoudemire himself. I have not honestly fist pumped with great emotion from a sports game for years. It feels great.
