News about PES 14

Ali

It is happening again
But the new game engine has brought better graphics you n00b.
And the gameplay does not look the same. Seriously, it's so different to 13.

Well it looks the same to me. :folarm:

Obviously I'd need to play it to give proper judgement, so I'll wait for the demo.

I've been playing FIFA13 recently and honestly can not tell the difference with their upcoming game.

Were improved graphics high on anyone's agenda when it came to improvements needed in PES? The new engine should be delivering a lot more than just improved graphics.

No one can judge the gameplay from a video depicting an unfinished product but it doesn't look all that different to me either to be honest.

We all want PES 14 to be a success but getting excited about a few pics of players faces and a couple of video clips is jumping the gun a tad if you ask me.

Haven't we all been here many times before?

the old engine was to limiited ,now they can customise there game more because of fox based new engine .
customisable cameras ,contineous play ,smoother more fluid animations ,better ai ,more animated crowds,......
this year only for ps3 & xbox 360 ,so hardware limitations remain .
next year on ps4 & x box one ,you can judge pes/ fox engine.
pes 2014 superior to fifa 14 on current gen for sure, pes is back!!!!!!!!

animation wise, I see a big difference. Gone is the odd PES13 rapid legs, where they move their legs faster than need be. The PES2014 strides look much more real. Much more hip movement. But we all know it comes down to AI attacking and defending, something PES and EA still won't get down correctly.

and I see Konami won't give up on the flying in PES logo at the start of every replay. Feel a seizure coming on during a PES match with that logo business.

and doesn't the Konami gang's stage presence look more like they are previewing a school science project than a professional video game developer?

After watching PES14 gameplay video I clearly understand its not gonna change game. New animation - cool, but it wasn't a problem. PES was 2 heads higher than fifa in graphics last year. Main problem is gameplay realism and AI. And even on 6 min video of PES 14 a still was able to see "good old scripts" that made me crazy so many times in the past. Its something like meet your old friend)))

abu97 thanks.

The difference from PES13 is glaringly obvious, not to some it seems though;). The graphical improvements are huge, looks really nice. Especially after looking at them weird body physiques you get in FIFA when the players are coming out on the pitch.
The ball physics seem strange at times early on in the video but the gameplay improved and can see this being an enjoyable PES.
Shame that he fucking sucked at the game and didn't show us some good gameplay and not just pulling off them lame little tricks.

I don't know if he sucked or if he was afraid to show us some actual attacking play. No through balls, no shooting.

I was afraid I will have to change my PC specs to get this game working but it seems so little has changed.

I think he was trying to show off as many new features of the game as possible. He was trying to demonstrate the "True Ball Tech" and a few other new features.

I also have a PC. Im hoping not much changes in regards to the system requirements.

Quite a few people eagerly hopping on the old hype train again this year I see.

Every year it's the same old story on these pages yet the concept of cautious optimism seems lost on the wild eyed PES fundamentalists and the folks who cant even mention PES without slagging off FIFA in the same sentence.

Konami have a long, long way to go to regain my trust in PES. A couple of inconclusive videos and screenshots of improved player faces just doesn't cut it for me when there are so many deeper problems within the series at the moment that Konami have refused to address for years now.

You sure dont speak for me dude. I played FIFA this past season and it was enjoyable. But all in all, neither can capture the true essence of a football game. Im as objective as they come.

Can you please elaborate on those deeper problems? Point form will be enough for me :)

I didnt say you personally were not objective but I'm sure if you've spent any amount of time on this forum you'll have seen people who cant or wont hear a bad word about PES. It's maybe not as bad as it used to be but it's still there.

Elaborate on the deeper problems? Are you kidding me? Are you seriously completely unaware of them?

Have a quick glance through the "PES Rage" thread or just about any other thread you care to look at and you'll see plenty of detailed posts about the problems PES has had over this entire generation of tech. You dont have to look far to find examples of people's frustrations with PES. You certainly dont need me to repeat myself about them for the thousandth time.

You like the videos and the pretty pictures and based on that alone you think the game looks "great". That's fine. I was merely pointing out that we've all been here before and been let down in the end.

If you were truly objective you would understand that.

;)
