Patch 1.2 first impressions

Is it just me or have the AI opponent's attacking abilities completely diminished since the 1.02 patch?

Before the patch, if I play Milan or a similar big club their attacking capabilities would tear me to shreds if I don't play proper football. Now after the patch against the same teams they only get 3 shots on goal etc.

I'm probably selling PES2012 this week.
Man I was so excited after the demo's...but it's just gone backwards ever since, including going backwards after each patch IMHO.

Not one of the two patches is worth it. The only reason i download them is because there is no option file with the Championship and EPL that is compatible with V1.00

v1.00 is the best. I just love it.

Patch your ass. Patch ! Seriously u think u can get away with this? All that is changed is a weighted ball is all. Nothing more. Absolutely nothing.

I have played PES since the beginning of time and I can't have a straight go at the opposition's defense in this game. The COM puts 8 men behind the ball all the time. If you just look at the radar when COM attacks, u'd see there is only 2,3 players going forward and the rest sits behind. All teams no exception. ACTIVE AI MY ASS !

I BEG of anyone...ANYONE who says he enjoys the game and can BUILD UP, ATTACK and SCORE, DEFEND PROPERLY....PLEASE upload a YOUTUBE VIDEO so us so called "haters" can watch and learn.

Hahaha i didnt know you were turkish bro that means "fick off" right? I really liked the game when it first came off with the original patch but they kind of screwed it up later on... I know how you feel

I don't notice much difference so far. Cpu still score on every free kick no matter angle, distance and team. Cpu don't pressure at all. They just walk around when i'm building up play, no matter if i run or don't. They ONLY wait for counter no matter who the opponent is. Think it's sad - i actually prefered the game before the patches.

Hi, i´m from Mexico and my PES has not been updated (1.02) so i can not play online, i have more friends with the same problem, does any one know if the patch has not been released in america, or what is going on?

6) CPU winning vast majority of headers, although I put this down to cheat mode Top Player

If you play the PC version, try to press and hold L2 and use the ARROW KEYS to make your defender antecipate to the ball, right after the AI-controlled player cross to your penalty area.

I do this, and 90% of time my selected player either wins the header or at least disturbs the movement of the forwards.
In 60 games I've made against the CPU, I've only conceed 3 goals from headers.


PS: I play on SUPERSTAR level... so it is indeed effective.

PS2: timing is extremely important... don't make your defender jump too early for the header, otherwise you'll most certainly lose the battle against the forward. Let the ball drop a bit.

I think the keeper improvements are online only as the keeper in my ml is still shocking, could that be possible?

I completely agree. For the first time in years, I watched my CPU opponent make beautiful, well thought and very lifelike plays. The kind I could not get angry for taking a goal, just admire. But they just did the CPU plain again with the 1.02, and I don't see anyone complaining about this (except you)! Oh well.

1.02 is the best improvement to PES ever, honestly. The people who can't see the defensive line and defensive pressure improvement alone is blind. Even on the glorious 1.00 the defensive pressure was lacking - and on top of that the dribbling from every single player who was attacking your net, could out run you - it just wasn't fun.

1.02 saved the game, made it go well over FIFA 12 - and is by far the closest thing you will ever see in this era to PES 4, PES 5 and PES 6. Incredible.

Agreed! Strange how it seems people hate losing in a game. I love it when I lose...it means I have to figure it out and work for my wins.

Ah well, sold my PES12 anyways and I'm enjoying FIFA12 at the moment. Not perfect, but the AI was one thing PES12 had over FIFA12, but since the patch both games AI are equally unthreatening so I might just as well go for the smoother better looking experience.

The 1.02 even increases the AI capability of ball retention and dribbling. In the 1.01 patch I found it disappointingly easy to disarm the AI players, even on SUPERSTAR level.

1.02 is a great patch. Period.

sth I noticed immediately but I never read in this thread is the number of times you hit the post after the patch, which kind of infuriates me (I have games where I hit the post six times)

I love the game but that is sth that is kind of annoying...

It got PES back to the playability world.
