To everyone disliking the game at the moment (PC), I had the same problem when 1.01 patch came out and here is what I did....

INSTALLED JENKEY'S PATCH....

On 1.01 the games had become lifeless, stale, and it was just one me attack, they defend mess ALL THE TIME.

Many people said that patch 1.02 changed all this, but I couldn't see it. The goalies may have been tweaked slightly, and shooting ever so slightly, but to me it wasn't a great deal, there was no back and forth battle and the games panned out pretty much like 1.01, with the CPU teams parking the bus, no midfield showdowns, with the added irritations that the CPU had become more aggressive with regards to pressuring you, more responsive in terms of tackling your strikers and more psychic in terms of blocking near enough all shots. Many people said the AI came alive again, which I think is just complete bollocks, players were as static as ever.

I was ready to pack in the game again, it seemed like Top Player was just like cheat mode, and even the balanced Superstar mode previously had gone cheat crazy. On top of that players I felt were now becoming sluggish with each patch that KONAMI introduced....in short I was frustrated at the game (even though I was top of the league, the game just felt shit), becoming bored at how the matches were panning out, and ready to give PES a wide break...

UNTIL

JENKEY'S PATCH 3.0...

THIS ONCE AGAIN HAS MADE THIS GAME INTO SOMETHING BRILLIANT FROM THE SHIT FEST THAT IT WAS BECOMING -

People may think I'm some kind of Jenkey bum chum; the fact is he has now released two tweak tools to grossly change the gameplay of the game and to give huge amounts of life into it.

On top of the usual me being able to change the ball weight and shot power to finally keep the fkin ball from zooming off into orbit, he has a gameplay tweak and CPU removal cheat tweak (I'm not sure how he does it, but they work brilliantly). Player responsiveness is nothing short of f'in stunning, the players feel free and the rails element has gone. Passing is crisp, dribbling looks realistic as he has tweaked the dribbling accuracy also. You can also take away the irritating replays, tweak gamespeed (I usually use 95, 100 being the default) but tweaking the gamespeed doesn't break the game as it would by changing it in game, with all responsiveness of the players lost when you decrease the game. Players are actually moving about, but the best part is is that the games also play very sim like. I usually play 15 or 17 min matches, the shots ratios are very realistic, and the possession is very realistic (on Superstar mode anyway)

So, here it is, the reason I'm enjoying it once again -

PES 2012 (patch 1.02)
PESEDIT (latest compatible version with 1.02)
Jenkey's Patch 3.0 (again compatible with 1.02)
- ball weight maxed, shot power 40/45, gamespeed 95, replays off, new curve, new net physic, goaly improvements, added player movement, more responsiveness

If you haven't tried it, at least give it a go!

**taken from another thread in different forum by me**

PES 1.02 my friend!!

Peeps, just had the most wonderful game, a 2-1 home loss v Arsenal. Man I'm back LOVING PES AGAIN!!!

Here's the bare bones

Liverpool v Arsenal (Premier League match)
Goals 1-2
Shots (on target) 10-12 (8)(5)
Fouls (offside) 8-3 (1) (1)
Corners 2-3
Interceptions 31-30
Possession 52-48

This game was on Superstar, 17mins, PES 2012 1.02, with Jenkey's 3.0 gameplay tool!!

Brilliant game. Lovely fluidity from start to finish, I scored first an early Enrique header from a Downing inswinging corner (Arsenal can't defend headers, no change there then lol).

Then then hit back with an Arshavin strike which I miscontrolled on the edge of the box, giving the little Russian time to strike a low blow bottom left to an ailing Doni.

Then disaster, a lovely move saw the ball break to Wilshere who hit a slide rule pass to the right wing, an early low cross took everyone by surprise for Chamakh to hit home, near post and hard, 2-1 to the Arsenal.

Then last twenty, I threw everything at them, brought on Bellamy, Henderson as Lucas was getting tired and took a tired Coates off for Jamie, a lovely move in the centre of the park and a lovely lofted through ball which saw Bellamy outstrip the Arsenal high back line, one on one...oh no, wonderful one on one save by the keeper, chance gone.

With literally seconds remaining the ball breaks deep inside my half, I just put my foot through it and it caught the back four out again, this time Kuyt clean through, control, set myself, hit it with defenders bearing down on me....oh no disaster, it beats the keeper but hits the top of the bar....game over, 2-1 to the Arsenal, should have been 2-2, but that's football.

A brilliant game...nothing brilliant in itself, no wonder strikes, just as realistic in my mind as a game comes. There was a period late in the first half where I just couldn't get the ball off them, but last 13 minutes it was all Liverpool. Mixed in with that, we had defenders winning the majority of headers, scrappy midfield play, lovely passing moves from both. Them giving the ball away cheap, me giving the ball away cheap....everything.

THIS IS THE POTENTIAL THAT PES HAS....but I simply cannot play it solely as patch 1.02, it just doesn't play like this....Jenkey, you're a fkin legend!!!!

I preferred version 1.00 to version 1.01, but very happy overall with the new patch, i think this patch offers a good balance between version 1.00 and 1.01.

- Long passing has a bit more variation, I feel long passing was better on pes 2011 but thankfully the patch has improved this area for me, I notice more error and variation at 0 pass assist. Manual long passing with LT is not as free as last year though.

- Keepers more consistent, last night De Gea made some outstanding saves and held onto shots he would have parried in version 1.00, I am one of the rare people who like the individuality in pes's keepers despite some horrendous errors from time to time

- Shooting has more zip and slightly weightier.

- Games feel more considered than 1.00, I play at -2 speed feels great to me.

- AI can sit a bit too deep at times but not as frustrating to play as version 1.01 which almost felt like playing fifa 11 AI(not a complement btw). Games have more variation.

- Crossing still too automated but pace has more variation and overall feels more satisfying, however the game needs manual cross back.

These are my initial impressions after 8 matches, superstar difficulty -2 speed 0 pass assist.

I really advise people try the 3.0 jenkey patch, the amount of improvement it makes is incredible.

I would rate pes 6.5 out of 10 before and 8.5/10 after.

have played a few more games on 1.02, I think the COM is not as unbeatable as before, it seems that it is now easier to get the ball off the COM, and I won't get some crap player dribbling through my whole team. I'm on star player level and I can now put together a couple of winning streaks.

but I'm still very bad against online players. always get Messi and Ronaldo running through my whole defense... I always play with Liverpool

Yea, PES has always been very very hard defending against Messi and ronaldo and this year is no exception

Yes, indeed - v 1.02 together with Jenkey's latest patch makes the game a whole lotta more fun than before! :)

seabass has never played football. 25-1

To all the PC players:

I'm jealous that as a PS3 user, I can't fix the utter shit that konami continues to put out year after year.

But I have a question:

You've seen this abomination for 4 years now. Why not just fix PES 2008(hahaha), '09, '10 or '11 and not buy this piss?

In other words, why keep buying a game that is worse than what you can do/have?

From what I understand, the patchmakers have fixed the last 3 (and this makes 4) iterations for the better. Why keep buying this joke if you already have quality?

Maybe that's why konami will never put out a half-decent game. Because everyone will stop buying it. I'm sure their system works for them; put out slightly different iterations of the same broken game for 4 years and hope nobody will notice.

But that can't be the case, because they're getting their asses handed to them at an increasing rate, year by year. But I guess any revenue over ZERO expenses (other than the monkeys' salary) is positive for konami.

I'm sure FIFA/UEFA/CONMEBOL/CAF/CONCACAF/AFC are dying to license this game!:laugh::laugh::lol:

My guess is konami have already admitted defeat and we're just the last to know. They'll keep leaking this shit until it's no longer profitable (Which it shouldn't have been since '08).

Since only two companies make the world's greatest game, I guess they don't have a problem finishing third in a two horse race.

I can't wait until a third company comes in and makes konami obsolete (hopefully FIFA as well). But four years is long enough.

It really looks like seabass programmed the game 12 years ago just by watching videos and without considering context.

The only reason this game is still alive is because nobody else wants to take on EA. It's living on past glories and riding on fumes. I could make a Super Mario Soccer game that has more consideration than was given to this game.

Consider it 26-0
:bravo: konami.

we buy the game because there are only 2 football games out there. FIFA is worse than PES, hence PES is for now the way to go

In fact, I'm probably one of the few. I own PES2012, but I've decided to still play PES2011 until year 2012. 2011 at my current settings & patch has a great gameplay and good player stats.
I decided to wait until year 2012, to see what mod makers & Konami push out before beginning my ML in 2012.

I don't have as much time to play as some, so I don't want to start Master Leagues over and over again, if some patches for instance change player stats etc. (those don't apply to an already begun ML, and I haven't yet found a patch with good enough nPower Championship quality imo). Or if a patch has a flaw which makes ML crash after a few seasons etc.. I did that mistake with PES2011 :D

:bravo: konami.

I think we buy the products year on year for two reasons;

1) We think there are enough differences (albeit subtle) to change up a version. I played PES2011 on the PS3 so this is my first foray into PC editing, and I'll wondering what I've been missing
2) Our love for PES in general

For example, I smashed PES2011, played it non stop warts an' all, but with the kits added together with stadiums the game indisputably played different, more sluggish etc. The best PES 2011 for me, was out of the box, where the players felt much more controllable. I feel that PES 2012 offers that little bit more in terms of player manoeuvrability.

I've happy with my PC setup, I was waiting for the Tyson Fury fight last night and had half an hour to kill, and as I was in the living room, chucked on the PS3. I had a soulless, dull 1-0 victory v Norwich, Superstar mode, 20 minutes, -1 gamespeed. I had about 65% possession. I figure the ONLY way to play it on PS3 is to keep the ball for astronomical amounts of time. Even when Norwich were 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go, they seemed afraid to attack me, until I lost the ball and they countered. The game was monotonous. At least this modified Jenkey version enables the CPU to attack you (but in a fair way) so that the game becomes balanced and you can counter them.

completely agree have only ever played pes on PS2 & 3 and this year has annoyed me more than most. The FACT IS PES 2012 has the potential to be sooooo amazing. just play the demos they are the fantastic if konami release the game with the same game play as the demos then wow they could of raped EA completely.

I still don't completely understand what made them change it so much.??

Demo 2...enjoyed!
Patch 1.02...feels a completely different game!

KONAMI have created MORE issues than they actually fixed i think!
Player selection...not able to select the player i want!
AI...useless!
Passing...ruined...
Shooting...still mince...
Keepers...again, have they ACTUALLY been PROPERLY fixed or they done another con job fix!?

the game just feels totality restrictive now!
Don't feel i have the freedom to play a game of FUN footy!

For example...
AI...broken!
When you control you LB and pass to the LM...on a counter attack!
Why does the LB not continue his run!?!?
Instead he stops...or some times, runs back into defence!?
And no amount of fiddling fixes this!

In saying that, that's been broken since PES2008!
