PC Troubleshooting Thread (PES 2009 FULL GAME ONLY)

I've tried to follow your tip earlier about lowering the resolution down to 1280 X 800 (8:5), however the crashing problem still occur.. do you know why? I tick the LB option (what does LB mean anyway?), the 16:9 option, full screen option, and also choose the use frame skipping option & wait for vsync. Was the setting correct? because during the game, the graphic didn't seem change much.

LB is letterbox mode - it will allow a black strip at the top and bottom of the image if not using a 4:3 or 16:9 resolution.

If I haven't already asked you to do so, switch down to 1024x768 and medium quality to see if you get the error. If you don't, change the quality up and see what happens. If I've already asked you to do that previously, sorry.

I have 16:9 and Full Screen selected at 1280x800 but not frame skipping.

Finally.. For the first time ever.. I was able to play for two matches - full-time - twice (@5min in 1024 x 768 with medium quality).. unfortunately that was the only progress I've ever had..

After testing the game twice, I noticed the crash seems to occur during data-saving in-between matches.. (that was the first time I saw the prompt saying 'Saving Data' in-between matches! Unbelievable!) Or there is one time the crash took place during loading the match.. (FYI, I choose a non auto-save option)

Should I lower the resolution again or should I turn off some options in the settings?(e.g. Wait for VSync) However during the game I couldn't see the downgrade of the graphic quality even though I've lowered the resolution twice.. The graphic didn't degrade at all as far as I could see..

My only further suggestion would be to continue tweaking (800x600 medium or 1024x768 high) to see if you can make the crashes more or less frequent in order to work out whether its the resolution causing the issue or the quality setting. Forget the Vsync, frame skipping etc. options, they are only to improve the framerate but it isn't a framerate issue you're having.

Well, i have the same problem of most ppl...and it seems it haven't been resolved.

My configs: AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core 2.4ghz
2GB RAM DDR2 400mhz
POWERCOLOR ATI RADEON HD 3870 512MB DDR3 (pci-e)

I got other PC with lower configs :
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 2.0ghz
1.5GB RAM DDR 333mhz
SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600 XT 256MB DDR2 (agp)

PES 2009 works in both PCs, and crashes in both too. I thought the problem could be with my PCs but I play so many other games and never crashes.

The game crashes in any mode of pes2009 when the ball goes out of play or when the game is preparing to begin (the little stars screen). When the game is loaded it never crashes when ball is in game, it crashes when i have a throw in, or a corner, or a foul, or when i go to 2nd half.

I have all latest drivers in both pc, i tried with patches 1.1 and 1.2 and keep crashing. I tried a resolution fix and even install the konami patch every time before open pes2009 and it doesnt work too. i tried to reinstall directx, change directx dlls and i already formated my pc (not because the game) and nothing resolves....

I got the same problems (identical) with pes2008 too. I played pes3,4,5,6 and never got this problems.

Someone knows if pes2009 have problems with some kind of hardware? ATI, AMD maybe?? And if someone knows any kind of solution even if so bizarelly pls let me know, i just cant play one match without crash, even trainning.

I have the exact same problem. In my case, I can play maybe one exhibition match and if I try to start another one, the game crashes.

BAL & ML modes simply crash randomly sometime in the middle of the first half of the game (and if it managed to go by smoothly, it will crash when I'd want to start the second half).

Could you please write here you computer specs and settings?

Thats due to Konami creating a new render. Medium and High both use pixel shader 3, which your card cant do as it doesnt have the hardware for it. If you force it the game will fail to load.

For you people playing BAL, you can tell if your game is going to corrupt if your not patched. Watch the stick man in the BAL menu. The ani for it will go ultra high speed, indicating a crash/corruption is on the way.

looks like this is the cause of my master league game crashing..i have to play in low settings???seriously it looks horrible!currently using a HD 4850 and do i have to play low all the time??aren't there any other solutions??

the resolution part?i did that with my BAL game last time and it still crashed..not sure if it will work for master league thou..it crashes either when i try to save or when starting a match..even the saved game file will be a blank white without my teams logo on it..loading it wouyld cause the game to crash also..so i can play high settings with 1280 X 800 or lower?im using a 22" screen,does it change anything?

I've got a HD4870 and play on high at 1280x800 with no issues. If you turn auto-save off and rotate save game files, it should help even if yes it remains annoying that you're having a stupid crash which can wreck your previous match.

The HD4850 is as capable as the 4870 but has fewer hardware components with which to achieve its results. It has pixel shader 3 so the quality of graphics should not cause you an issue.

oh yea and before i forget..theres this weird problem where after a few matches i play..the controls get weird..my players would automatically kick the ball away..im not sure what key it is but it has a strength gauge to control how hard u want to kick the ball..and if left uncontrolled,the players will kick a low ball backwards..ill have to restart my pc to get things back to normal every time..is this a common problem?

ok ive tried with both 1280 X 800 and 1280 X 720 and both still crashes my game when i select 'next match'..

i usually know the game will crash when i save my game..after the 'saved successfully' message comes out..if i try to enter the saving slots again,i will see that the slot where i save my game would be there but the logo is just a blank white box..

tab, I click the download button, I get a message that there is an update available
that adds the 4 spanish sides etc. When I click to download, it shows the progress
bar, nothing happens and after about a minute,I get a message that the downloaded
file is broken. I have tried several times, same thing each time.
Any thoughts.

I've tryed to reinstall the Visual C++ Runtime Library, many versions, and nothing... Reinstalled the Dx9, and nothing... Reinstalled the game, and nothing! kkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Hmm, I cant download version 1.00.03, it downloads 6% and then tells me that the download file is broken? Even worse, now my game has got really jumpy. Is 1.00.03 broken, or is it my comp?

I am having exactly the same problem. I cant update ingame, it keeps failing saying the file is borken, this is really annoying me koz I cant play online with anyone because of this.

Download errors: No idea I'm afraid. Try to install the update manually?

Runtime errors: Try anything - reduce graphics detail, turning sound off. See if anything changes the nature of the error.

Fast Gameplay Too Frustrating

I have a very irritating problem about pes 2009. My game runs 1.5 faster than normal. I even changed my graphic card from ati hd 4850 to nvidia gtx 260. Pes 2009 still runs faster and I am about to go mad. Can anyone help me about nvidia settings?
please help.

My current settings:
pes settings: frame skipping checked, vsync checked, LB unchecked
nvidia settings: default settings, no profile for pes 2009
vsync: application controlled.
resolution 1920x1080, 60 hz
