It's a game that suddenly feels full of soul and encourages players to be more creative in their play - looking for the top corner, passing to Ronaldo who can dart through the box with ease, and flicking the ball over the last man after a long cross before slotting it home.
The slower pace, combined with the great PES FC additions, makes for a more tactical, skilful game, which not only shakes off last year's image as 'the arcade footy title' but, according to some FIFA-loving journos on our trip, might seriously be enough to see them switch allegiance this year.

Us? We were very impressed. Our upcoming FIFA 13 hands-on session suddenly has a lot to live up to...

this is going to be interesting

If it offers what I lacked in PES 2012, better passing, better shooting and no more undependable through balls it's a definite. It sounds so promising this year, let's hope for another 2 demos!

is it just be who absolutely LOVES pes 2012? I used to be all pes until fifa 08 i felt pes SUCKED but now with this one its the number 1 again for me

But a bit positive for review this early. Noone trust reviewers, but its the beginning of June which is more of an early build of the game.
I've seen a few negative comments of PES 2013 such as players like CR7 impossible to defend and having an arcadish feel

The graphics in PES 2012 weren't bad the just need to be sharper so one screenshot isn't enough, a vid will be better ;)

Seabass isnt gone. Hes working on pes next gen. Probebly pes2014, with a new engine.

You shouldn't probably skip PES 2013 until you try the demo as Player ID sounds exciting and great and animations will be brand new and fresh. I'd say wait for the demo and then think if you're going to skip it or not

1 year isn't enough time to implement the system in PES - they started using it at the start of this year and it would take 2 or 3 years to fit the engine in and customize it etc.

Oh i wouldnt skip on 2013. Its not gonne be a graphics upgrade. But it looks like game play changed a lot. Heck with some luck 2013 migth be the best pes next gen.
And yes fox engine is looking amazing. Pes2014 will probebly be the first pes on the next next gen and already two years in production by then. Its good to see konami doesnt make the same mistake twice.
