It just takes all emotional attachment out of the game. In Fifa now it's just all about contain - exploiting what the AI can do for you - and scripting. Completely pointless to play. Its contain could make a 2 year old look like a master at defending. You play someone at your own level -- especially your own level -- & then it all just boils down to who gets the better scripted chances etc.

There's no emotion in Fifa anymore.

Don't go like EA.

I hope you haven't already because I haven't played PES in years....

Edit: Will be buying PES 14

Scripting in Fifa is so bad that you know you're going to score or concede if you get or concede a corner in the 90th.

Yep, the game even resorts to manipulating your input.

I don't care about offline against CPU but just keep scripting out of all human vs human modes

let me take a wild guess here.....you suck at Fifa.

Cmon dude...if you claim that a 2 year old can play the game like a master.....you surely should be able to do so also.

Its the easiest and clearly the most enjoyable football game on the planet.

Maybe you should try the starting at the new skill games ...they help to lay the basics out for newbies.

peace.

You see, thats why I dislike FIFA fans. They think that FIFA is 100% purest game. But its not. Is it better than PES? hell yea! But it still has some flaws which you fail to admit.

Scripting is in FIFA. You watch all the commentators on youtube like CalFreezy and AirJapes, all admit, whatever the CPU wants to do, they will do it.

And btw, on World Class difficulty, there are ways to score goals against the CPU the same way over and over again. E.g. Through ball over the top? All day everyday. There are various ways, and you are right. Its Soooo easy. UNLESS you play full manual, which I am trying to practice.

Ok....I did not say that Fifa is 100% purest game and would be stupid not to admit that the game also has faults....which video game today does not?

On the point of "scripting" i probably wont go there. I work within the technology field and our definitions seem to collide with gamers. For example...l

if a player loses the ball to a cpu player or is beaten by a overhead through ball ...they will regard this as scripting or the game cheating.

However, whenever they score, make a pass, through ball or any great tackles ...they pat themselves on the back. The truth is.....those plays made by the human player are also "scripts" written into the game.

Great gameplay comes from great programmers who are able to link scripts or coding to make the game balanced. This must be done on both sides....cpu and human.

There are a lot of you guys who come here and claim that Fifa is too easy ...when in truth you are all having a hard time adapting. Fifa is easy to some point. Once you go up a level or compete online, you will meet stiff competition from experienced players.

PS. Over the head througballs can be defended against....just stop pulling your defense all over the field chasing everyball......we see players like that online daily and burn their asses for the stupidity.

peace

I'd rather they go back down the road of 2011 for online gameplay reasons, where you actually have to be good to beat good players rather than the mess the last couple of years

After the awful, awful experience of MLO this year I needed a bit of a change. I quite enjoyed the Fifa 13 demo so I picked it up cheap off ebay.

Seems to me they've done the same thing as the last few yrs - the full game feels no where near as good as they demo. Best thing I've taken from fifa this year is that manual vs assisted is a lot more even and competitive.

I played it online for 2 days. Whether I'm good at the game or not, it matched me up with equally skilled players. The most exciting games I had where dull at best unfortunately.

I was quite excited about the new fifa career mode. There's some great things they've done there, but unfortunately again, I just got so bored playing the games:( Played it for a week all in all, and haven't touched it since. It's actually made me go back to PES (6 + 13 lol)

One thing I've taken from fifa is how much I love PES's player individuality (and AI). Little things like learning how to play with certain players + how they actually use their 'preferred' foot lol. It might be a more clunky frustrating mess, but for me it's undeniably more fun to play.
I put Fifa 13 back on ebay. I still have my fifa12 if I ever need a change of scene in the future.

I have my fingers crossed for PES 14, but because of Konami's past I have low expectations atm :(
After both games this yr and last, I've never had more of an urge to get myself an old PS2 + pick up PES 5+6.

Hey, I get it! Not everyone will love Fifa....and i am perfectly fine with that.

However, i am struggling to see where anyone could find "player individuality" in any of the recent PES games.

The AI is completely broken in such that all the defenders just either run away from a through pass or just a retarded run against opponents staring at the ball and not making a tackle until after the shot is taken.

..or maybe how the ball seems to weirdly roll back onto the feet of player while dribbling (rubber banding).

Patches everywhere, complaints everywhere ....i am sure i am not the only one who thinks that PES is utter garbage again this year.

Again...to each his own.

If they do not change the game engine this year .....i do not see any room for improvements.

For me I can feel the difference between players like Wilshere and Ramsey or Belhanda and Ozil in PES. I like learning how they act differently when on the ball and take up different positions sometimes off it. I enjoy the fact that they'll use their preferred foot over their weak one in most situations.
In fifa, for me anyway, most players feel the same to control. Some are just faster than others.

I find fifa just as retarded with ai. CB's sprinting out of the d-line into midfield, cm's don't track back, players just leaving their man and wondering aimlessly upfield when the ball gets in the final 3rd, after shots on goal ypur attackers are rooted to the spot starring at the loose ball etc.
PES is just as messed up but in different ways imo. My new pet hate is how sidebacks just run away from their winger because the ai would rather the cm/dmf track across to the touch line and jockey inbetween the 2.

If your talking about weirdly rolling back to a players feet I have to bring up fifa tackling (the best way not to get the ball back). A little test for fifa 12 +13. Play 2player with a mate and have him put the controller down. Try and tackle his players with the ball. You'll be there all day trying to get possession back lol

I'm not getting my hopes up for PES14. If this new engine is just for animations and graphics, then unfortunately we'll still be playing the same gameplay engine underneath. I hope it's a complete overhaul
