pes 2010 online is it awful for everyone?

ive had pes 2010 since it came out but I only played it online once, on the day it came out, and it was a laggy mess, but I put it down to it being so busy on the opening day.

So yesterday, I thought I'd play some people online and I just can't believe how bad it is. It's worse than last year, so many games get called off because of the transmission, everyone is barcelona or real madrid and is probably the most unenjoyable and frustrating bit of xbox I've played.

Also, I tried to join a tournament, but it seems that every competition is fully booked all the time.

Is this as bad for me as it is for everyone else?

It's bad, but not as much as pes 2009 I guess. Pes needs to sort this. But overall it's not 100% bad. As for the barca or real players. That's not pes' fault. Those people are stupid and wants to win without enjoying the game.

The US version works almost perfectly online. But you do get the occasional button lag issues but not that much. From these posts it seems that the Euro version suffers much more online issues.

200% agree... The problem is not the ONLINE package, the real problem is the STATS of crack players and BIG teams... that with stupid people that only play with Barza or Madrid...

oddly enough, when more people are online the connections seem to get more stable.

Then again, I'm in Japan and the internet here is pretty good. Also, the Japanese "Winning Eleven" edition seems to be the best one according to most people's opinions, but I don't know if it carries over to online though.

on a typical weeknight, there are around 800 people playing online quick-match. I don't don't if that is a lot, or very few, compared to Europe or the US.

Ah but of course!

It's not Konami's (SIEG HEIL) crappy netcode that is too blame, its our crappy internet connections. GOD SAVE THE SEABASS!

You are unbelievable beyond belief. Admit it, you are paid to come on here with this forced and unrealistic 'positivism'.

I think there is some truth to what he's s saying. Im in the US, when I play others in the US the game is mostly flawless. When I encounter people from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica the game is mostly slower and I encounter butto lag more often. Im sure for Euro also, when you play people from your same country the connection is probably much smoother.

You are at XBOX-PC or PS3??

I am "curulero" from XBOX (Chile) and it is 100% true...when i play people in Chile or Argentina (Next country), even Brazil, the game is flawless ( Have a 6 MB connection with 516 kbit Upload)...but when i play with guys from Mexico or USA...there are LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG...its is almost unplayable.

Im on PS3. Yup, maybe its got something to do with the distance between players? Im in LA so when I play people in California, its like offline, fast and flawless. I play my brother in law in Argentina and its slow and laggy. I bet this is the same for the people in Europe. England players playing against others in England will be fine, when they play people n the CechRep, Italy, Greece, France etc they will have issues.

The tool has posted once again

I have a japanese online game which is Metal Gear Online and in every room all japanese players have full ping = a damn good connection plus ther ISP are state ov the art and Lag is rare, but when i join in from the Uk i lag because of the distance but yet Japanese players can join Eu games and have full ping because ther ISP's are that damn good that distance does not effect them

Now in the EU we have 100's ov ISP's and a number ov different countrys which all offer different connection speeds but also depending on where you live or which ISP you use your connection could be utter shit

Why is it that i know Uk players who have virgin fiber optic 20meg broadband but yet can barely get a 1meg speed at 7pm?

I know all about konami's servers, ther online has improved this year for me and i can play with a mate and we both have about same speeds and thers just a little bit of button lag but its not game hindering for me but if i play him at 8pm when my ISP is a bit busy and my speed is lower then i lag more, even if the servers were perfect if i dont have a decent speed or line quality then ther will be lag due to a delay in the packets being sent

Are you a fifa rep?

my question is this, this lag issue that is seemingly cause because of the distance between the players, does it happen with other online games such as Modern Warfare2, NBA2k10, Socom, Madden etc etc? Or is it an isolated issue with PES? I don't know because PES is the only game that I play without borders, all the others I play seem to be with people in the USA.

It depends, on MGO i play over all ov EU and then KSA which lag really badly tbh but overall its the ISP/distance and ping quality and whoever the host is which determines how much lag is about

I have KZ2 but lag isnt too noticable its sonys servers but thers no way to find out if ppl are lagging as such really since its quite fast paced and the kill cam is crap

On fifa 10 lag is noticable when playing ppl from other countrys

I think it can be to do with that the game is 1v1 so lag is more noticable but if your playing with a lot ov ppl then it can be filtered around to all players so its less noticable and mabye only noticed as a .5second delay etc

It's strange. When I play online, heads up, it's sucks shit. The connection I mean. But when I play Community, the connection is better.

I have the US version, or should I say, Mexican and Brazilian version, since that's where the vast majority of online players are from if you're playing this in the US. Therefore, the connection is usually poor, so I don't know why you think the US version works "almost perfectly" online.

I managed a way to make online much better. When I first got the game, I was excited and showed no discrimination for the opponents I chose, often using Quick Match to play against anyone possible. The result was a steaming bucket of liquid crap when it came to the quality of matches and connections, so I was forced to play against mainly run run run players who only pass to Messi on the wing for the entire 90 minutes.

Now I only use Match Room and take a good look at their details, noting the last 5 teams they've chosen. If it's 5xBarca, it is an automatic removal from the room and the result is a much more enjoyable online experience. :)

so is it the connection that is the issue or the people you play? If the latter then yes I agree, there are a bunch of runners that dont know what the hell they're doing. But is it the lag your complaining about or the dumb people ? LOL
