PES 2010 vs PES 2011

No. No no no no no a million cowin times no. 2011 is another world better than 2010. Even a blindfolded, sleeping, stuck in the basement Stevie Wonder can see that.

For me PES2010 was terrible in every way, shooting around the box was so unresponsive and retarded it was ridiculous. The players moved like oil tankers in treacle, The menus were hopeless, through-balls were a disgrace. Totally unfinished game. PES2011 is better, but not by much. Both are PS2 games with better graphics.

Everyone seems to still be unhappy with 2011, and I don't get it. It feels near perfect to me.

Agreed though, 2010 was absolutely shite.

Most people are unhappy because PES11 is a bad video game. It really makes sense if you think about it, people would not be unhappy if PES11 was actually good.

Menus

For me the gameplay of 2011 is great, I like that you have more control and I do have a tendency to miss the mark, but that will come.

What kills the game for me is the new menu structure, I just cannot come to terms with it.

The real buzz kill and why I stopped playing 2011 altogether is the way you setup your team before a match its completely impossible to get a good overview of who is up and down, the way it is done is so completely stupid compared to all other PES games, I started with 3 on xbox and has been hooked ever since, on 360 from PES 6 till now, I cannot get around that way to setup your team. Perhaps someone has some good pointers, but really that is the killing point for me, if 2012 has that same system, Iam going to have too look at Fifa instead.

yeah

i have to agree, the menu structure is 99% of the game for me and if its not perfect, i wont be buying a football game ever again, its just soo gamebreaking, i mean, menus are an important part of football, you know when u watch champions league matches at TV and you think.. darn.. i wish my football game had that kind of reali- menus!

but once that is fixed, i would like to see gameplay being improved.

And yes, Amateur is right, few people would be negative about this game if it actually wasnt bad.. tho it is at the right track atleast..

With foot planted well into:
UW's butt.

With a little modification, PES2009 was far better than any other PES in my opinion. You could get BAL to be quite good, even when your player became godlike. Dribbling was fun, because of the instant full-stop and quick turning. (Although not very realistic).

In PES2010 and 2011 there has been some scripting that has fucked everything up, once you're good enough, in BAL, ML and even in two player mode.

That being said, I love the way pes2011 looks and feels until the retarded AI and scripting gets the better of the game. If they could only get the AI to play as good football as possible, make player collision (and balance) more realistic and fix the keepers, then things should be pretty good soon. I am expecting baby steps, of course, as Konami rarely make huge leaps in any department.

liked 2010 better now too used to 2011 but still don't like it all that much.. Too many issues with defenses, player speeds, ball physics. I NEED 2012 to come out ASAP!!!

i love the way in 2011 you can actually defend agaist messi/ronaldo etc and its more based aroud a team game with real stratigy to break down defences rather than running the line for a cut back and tap in..

It isn't very realistic, or fun, that really slow defenders outrun speedsters like Lennon, Walcott and Martins though...

i am with sabatasso on this one.
it is a bit dumb, when you are clearly through on goal with a player whose dribbling speed is higher then the defenders top speed and the defender can still catch up on you ...

Defenders catching up is not realistic, but the overall defending system in 11 is miles ahead of 2010 where you could still dribble a whole pitch and your defenders would stand still and let them pass by, because by the time the game takes your command of a tackle, the striker would be long gone. IT WAS WAY MORE RETARDED IN PES 10 than in pes 11.

I don't really care to rate retardedness. Both games are somewhat retarded, that's all I care about.

I find it fucking annoying, though, because PES2011 could easily been quite good if Konami and the PES devs wasn't such "football illiterates".

That wasn't my point. My point was that in pes 10 it looked way worse because of how easy you could beat the defenders. AT LEAST PES 11 BROUGHT BACK BALANCE. Something that doesn't exist in pes 08, 09 and 10.

Yes, but by fixing one problem they created another... that was MY point.

Do you really think it's balance when you're unable to get one on one with the goalkeeper, even if you get half a pitch head start?

I'd call it unrealistic, and retarded... but that's just my opinion of course...

Ofcourse it's stupid. That's the worst thing in pes 11. It seriously is annoying. But as an overall game, pes 10 doesn't even come close.
