I havent had pes for years, but after downloading GTM 1.1 update I have started a master league season, I am loving the master league. Just hate the missions. Got one yellow card so failed a mission and then the chairman said the team are like animals or something. Bit OTT lol I too am struggling to score, but somehow get away with not conceding many either, on top player. Has flaws but I am enjoying PES so much more than this time last year I had fifa, so cant complain

PES 2012 has took me longer than any other pes game to get used to, playing superstar offline master league, the game has really started to click for me loving it.

I'm really getting the hang of the game now and I'm loving it!

Dare I say it but I think I may have cracked defending. I'll try and keep this brief but I find the best way of preventing the opposition from getting any sight on goal is just that! Keep goal side, guide them away as best as you can, and a lot of time this pressure alone gives you a chance to retain possession when they pass to a team-mate.

I always struggle for goals early on in ML and that's happening at the moment. I'm creating a good few chances but it's not quite happening yet.

I can understand some people's frustrations at the game, but it really is a case of sticking by it and once you do finally get that eureka moment it's bleddy brilliant.

I just wish the missus would have a few more early nights!!

I'm starting to get better results, playing offline master league, -2 speed superstar with no assists to anything. My standing tackles are getting better, I also find if I block the passing lanes this is much more effective than hounding the player in possession, i set pressure to 12 to give me some balance and allow me to pressure the ball manually using super cancel.

I also play less sloppy passes in the middle of the park, as in real life if you give the ball away in this area the AI will often punish you, being more considered in my approach has helped massively.

I am also making more use of the attack defense level, when you feel the AI building momentum dropping attack level down gets more players behind the ball and can make you difficult to break down. Love the challenge but some of the scripting in offline ML can cause severe pes rage.

Hay Chaps so here is my current take on this situation.

I have played pro evo for years and in the follow up to 2012 i was really skeptical after 2011. So i did my homework downloaded the pes 12 and Fifa 12 demos and played them both. Of course the pro evo demo was amazing and felt wow they have banged it on the head this year and another return of pes golden years like with the PS2.

So like many of you i got the game took a few hours to do the GTM option file etc. And wow looks sweet right start a master league with the saints and spend the next year building them up to a world class team. I have always wanted realism i know there not gonna win against prem side etc but i did think i was going to be beat every time. Like most of you i play on top player and have now dropped it down to professional.
On top player the my team AI didn't seem anywhere as reactive to moving forward and creating spaces like in the demo, and as you have all said the CPU has 11 men in defense but there ability to counter attack is not reflected in my teams AI. Also the usual other issues have now come back you can't catch the cpu player if you do they then can dribble though a brick wall it seems and all rebounding and defected balls end up at there feet and player reactions that a human can't physically react in time for. Player assistant (mine was semi) but will never go to the guy you want until the opposition have got possession of the ball.

Now i can see and tell with the new physics and engine that this game has it should whoop 2011 ass (as the demo does) but now it seems they are back tracking and this is worrying.
I am on the 1.02 patch and i don't know if anyone else with this patch has felt this??

There are a few suggestions i have seen the eg superstar mode and just using fully assisted setting with selecting and passing to players. But if anyone else can shed some light on this pls let me know. Shall post my thoughts after changes.

:)

You champions should try ML offline with a default squad to see how you would be erased on your superstar. I don't mind to playing even on amateur if it is challenging, but with pes2012 the gap between regular and pro levels is too wide. Regular is too easy and pro is too hard.

Well obviously if you play with the default team you're going to get your ass kicked. But i haven't tried it yet this year...too busy playing online and league games. Have you played superstar alot?

I do not play on superstar because it is too hard, but even on pro I am still struggling to get to D1 after 2 seasons in ML. It is uber hard for me in D2 even with players in 70s and some 80s. This caliber is still not high enough to compensate for AIs higher then actual stats. Their 60s are about on par with my 70s. I also played on regular and when I started to win 7:0 in D1 and won the serie A right after being promoted I just lost interest and went to pro again. I will switch to superstar when all my team is above 90 and I won champions league. :)

I play with the default team in my ml on SS, and it's so weird pre 1.02 i could hold my own lose by the odd goal, but the last two games I've been tonked and could do nothing about it

Professional seems more balanced than Superstar difficulty after the patch 1.02.
I'm not sure, but have konami found out superstar is balanced and added stupid cheated scripts to it.

If they have, i'll sell the game because for me it feels lightly scripted

Some were actually good play but a lot were defensive rebounds either from the keePer or an attempt to clear straight to the COM

I agree with this, Superstar patch 1.01 was the best mode on the game...now (patch 1.02) it's just like an increased cheat fested Top Player.

It's times like this I want to gun down the entire KONAMI crew, with an AK-47, chop their dead corpses up into manageable feeding pieces and throw the bits to the crocodiles....just to make sure...

I would even bomb their building down and make sure everything from pes has been wiped away so someone decent and actually watched football (not soccer) can make it again from scratch

I've found a setting that I love. I had been playing on SS -2 speed, long cam, I then changed to wide as that is what I play online. Well I just find it two slow and the COM had been killing me. So I changed to 0 and the game just seemed to come to life, I had space, but more inportantly more response from my players. I could attack and defend more effectively. The COM weirdly became more open and does not camp Out in their own box. The goals I conceded were acceptable. Not the shit I'd been seeing since the patch update.

So I'm on wide cam, no assist bars for pass, semi assist cursor, all assists off except hard tackle. Manual second man.

I think the added speed and agility of the players brings it alive. Im basically playing the same settings as I do online.

Since the game came out I'd been -2 and I was enjoying it but since I went online the speed just felt so poor and the game boring. Ill probably change next week lol

That makes absolutely no sense because football and soccer are one :erm:
