Well the demos tomorrow so the thread had to be created and for one, I cannot wait to play after a release of videos showcasing the different aspects of the game, including a video released today -

The latest video's good, but then again, Konami have had the art of video-making pretty much nailed for years, what's lacking is the final product what really matters the most - gameplay. And I hope it's much improved.

Looking forward to giving this demo a good go, tomorrow evening.

The impressions from the sites are pointing that the game IS good and a big improvement from the past years, but soon we'll get to know ourselves. Hopefully the demo's out by midnight GMT which is 8:00 pm on Brazil :D

There is no set time, Sony like to keep their customers waiting, it seems

Through past experience though, I've found that it usually gets updated around "tea time" so 18:00 hours.

However, if you're on before then, Sminky, it's worth using the search function and using terms such as "Pro Evolution Soccer 2013" to try and find the demo in the Store database. With last year's FIFA demo, I remember it turned out that the demo had been put on, there just was no advertising on the Store as you went onto it, notifiying everyone that it's now on, for a few hours or whatever it were.

Something to bear in mind if you're really keen to get your hands on the demo asap.

Being a PS+ subscriber, I may stick it on auto download so it's ready to play when I get in :D

Another forum had a user post that the Xbox 360 demo just came out.

I can't verify it as I am waiting for the ps3 demo but just thought I would let any Xbox users know it might be out there now.

Xbox demo is out! I'm nearly finished downloading! Looking forward to seeing what these manual controls are like.

Only played one game because I'm going bed, but the manual shooting seems pretty cool. I scored a cracker with rooney and the way rooney shoots really looks like him. Its not hard to be accurate with the manual shooting either, although I use Fifa with manual controls which actually seem harder in Fifa. Matches are only 5 mins, which sort of sucks, konami are teasing us like EA do with their demos. Seems to be a new camera called "blimp", you can see litterly half the pitch its that far back and wide, looks cool but is a bit far removed from the action and possibly just a novelty. I changed back to wide pretty quickly.

As I said I only played one game and thats not really anything for any real impression, but the manual shooting certainly stood out. Far better. The game seems a bit smoother than 2012, too. I certainly enjoyed it. Sorry for the impressions after one game, but I thought I post just before I hit the sack.

Tried the Xbox version. It's ok I suppose. Only played England Germany twice. I like 2012 and 13 feels like more of the same. In both matches I saw a few more animations but it plays just like 12 except the CPU tries to use the offside trap a lot more.

I hit the post several times and the top bar once. Several diving push saves from the German keeper that are new. One thing I did not like was the CPU offense was abysmal. 2012 they may have scored some cheap ones but they shot the ball more than what I have seen in 13. By that I mean Germany had 3 shots on me both matches combined. I don't like that.

Also there were several instances where I passed the ball and it went into space and everyone except who I was passing to ran about on their predetermined lines ignoring the ball while my player was sort of out of my control then control came back and I would run and fetch the pass. Weird. I know it's early and demo #1 but the pass logic was decent in 12 and you would think they would just go forward and fine tune it.

Manual shooting is ok so far. Still new to it but it does feel much better just in the fact the ball goes more to where you think it should, pretty much how it should have been always.

Need to play it some more.

The team select area shows a different player if you flip it back and forth. Meaning first hit it was Rooney, flicked it to the next team and back and it was gerrard, then cole and so forth.

The fake konami shoes now say pes on them in script and now the w logo.

Been downloading it this morning, finally done and just played two quick games, first with Portugal and then with Germany. Early impressions and points:

- Manual Shooting is unbelievably hard. Holding LT to see the arrow is a massive bonus and will be massive help in learning and mastering it. Of course being very hard to use is a great thing, it means time and work needs to go into it. I've had Ronaldo and co hitting some of the worst shots ever so far, I really need to practice my aiming that's for sure. When it comes off though, it's quite glorious, gives you a great feeling. I've probably had about 15 manual shots in those two games and only two of them have really come off so far, practice needed, liking it a lot.

- Players overall move much better in general, even off of the ball when the opposition has posession, quite a difference I've noticed.

- Substitute presentation is lovely. Not a big deal or anything, but I like the way it looks with it showing you the sub changes just underneath the score and time board.

- Goalkeepers can now use power to throw the ball out, fantastic.

- Way more animations (example, cross in and Ozil charges in and manages to get in front of the keeper to flick a header on to the backpost, where Gomez powers over the defender to nod into an empty net. Nine times out of ten the keeper snatches the ball out of the air in '12, massive improvement here...granted it's only happened once so far from one attempt, but it seems that's been tweaked)

- Long range passing looks even a step ahead of last year, which I thought was brilliant in itself to be honest. Master manual passing and you really could be in for some incredible passing.

- Players sing along to the national anthem...terribly :ha: had me in stiches at the time. Their mouths are all moving awfully. Early days so hopefully they get the feedback to slightly tweak that. Again, not a big deal, but yeah...maybe have a few players not singing along, as we get in real life, while some of the lip movement slightly improved if they can.

I'll likely add more later. Noticed Santos and Flum on the game, meaning we can play as Neymar and Ronaldinho, awesome! Going to get a few more games in soon and will also try it out without the manual shooting, just to see how the shooting really is without the manual stuff.

All I needed to hear and was expecting to hear! :flip:

I don't even need to play games anymore to just know what new releases are going to be like. I've been playing them for far to long, saying the same sh*t year after year after year. The games aren't ever enough to justify £40 every new release, one or two features, but fundamentally it is the same broken game. Yet as long as zombies keep saying stuff like it "feels the same as last year", but still go out and buy it in its millions, NEVER expect games to get better, its about time people start taking actions as a way to get a reaction from developers.

I put the Xbox back in its box 1 or 2 months ago and haven't dug it out since, zero intention of doing it either. This is somebody who spent quite a lot of time playing computer games for many years, who made a conscious decision to make a change. I didnt buy a single game for it in a whole year, and stopped playing it full stop a month or so ago.

Mark my words, FIFA will be no different, it will be more of the same of FIFA 12 and every other game, still the same old sh*t problems breaking the games every single year that never get fixed, because they don't give a f*ck as long as you keep spending your money.

When will people wake up and realize? :brickwall:

Are people buying these games out of habit? Addiction? Because other people buy them? What is the reason for keep buying them when forums are filled with people complaining about the same issues every year?

Society has been dumbed down so much, you will buy when they tell you to.

That is a great feature, I hadn't thought of that one. I can't quite believe I am going to say this but well done Konami for that one :D it has been so long since I said that about one of there new ideas lol That is one thing which always annoyed me. The opposition would be pushing and pushing there would be space for your player on the half way line, you see him and you want to throw it to him only for your keeper to then throw it to a defender 2 yards in front of himself with about 4 attackers pressing him  not impressed! This feature will allow for much better counter attacks.

It seems I have been playing a different PES from you because 9/10 the keeper would do nothing with a ball floating just inside his 6 yard box. That is something I have always insisted that they do, make a skill card or attirbute. Something like commanding GK or command. What I mean by this is a goalkeeper who commands his 18 yard box, a goalkeeper who can claim a ball crossed into the box. I am sick of my keeper sticking to the line when you know they could have claimed it. The other one which annoyed me was when a cross was deflected and the ball spins up in the air for a couple of seconds. The goalkeeper will line himself up with it (usually behind a player for some reason) and when it drops completly flapping at it punching it too an opposing player, who has an easy goal scoring opportunity.

From what I am gathering you seem to think keepers are rooted to there line even more than what they have been?

Society has been dumbed down so much, you will buy when they tell you to.

People continue to buy the games because guess what? They have a different opinion to you. I'm not sure why you typed all of that in a tone as if it was fact.

Your opinion is that every time the game is the same old thing with a few different additions. My opinion is that I don't agree with that one bit. Now that's not to say this doesn't happen with games or hasn't ever happened with PES for example, but not so much in the last two years. They changed things quite a bit, they've got the basics there and it's a matter of continuing to add and improve them.

Guess what? Some people love the game. Games like COD and Halo are regarded highly, but guess what? Some people think they're sh*t. It's a matter of opinion. You don't like the game, so suddenly people are supposed to stop buying it? Because a few hundred people come on some forums, that accounts for the opinions of the millions that buy these games? Okay, makes sense.
