Omg I just played it! It is absolutely amazing! Much more fun and challenging than FIFA/PES 12. The defending system in PES 13 is brilliant as well, you can really capitalise on a heavy touch or mis-control from the CPU. For the first time, I'm really considering making my BaL a defender or defensive mid. The only worrying had was that the Manual Controls wouldn't feel as good as in FIFA, but they feel really really nice. -3 Konami, the throne is yours.

I'm liking the defending. From what I've played of last years which seemed a bit of hope rather than intentional tackling this year is very good. Hold rb/r1 and A(whatever that is on PS3) to pressurise or just hold A to control your distance to the player if you got too close or to hold up the play, but crucially you have to tap A twice to make the tackle. This is the most important part for me. Fifa introduced that last year and its far more satisfying and proper that you should control and time when to tackle the attacker, not some AI.
Correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't played all that much of 2012 compared to the rest of ye but I don't think you could defend like that in 2012 with such real control. It seemed very awkward with not that much control when you made the tackle. I think you needed to time when you pressed A to run in and make the tackle, which was rubbish and more luck than anything if you made the tackle and got the ball because the attacker could see you coming. I'm finding the defensive system this year quite good so far, need more games to be sure of how good it is, though.

If the demo is up on the Jap store, can only be a matter of time before its available in the UK. I'll check again around 3pm.

Freaking love it!! Played it on xbox and ps3. Love the shooting love the passing love the 1-2 thing love the first touch love the balance in the game and freaking oove r2 dribbing. Few thing i hope konami tweeks. Theref give to many yellow card its almost like every foul is yellow.

I like the R2(RT for me) too. Its very well done and intuitive to use. You can do rolls from side to side and back steps really easy in what direction you want while facing the defender. You can use it to let a defender get in close then release RT and hold the dash button to push the ball past the defender and get by them. Its probably the best dribbling system I have played in a footy game so far, I need more time to probably give a final verdict on it though. You don't need a mulitude of tricks to beat players, just dribbling skills which I think is far more realistic.
I noticed I gave away quite a few kicks also but thats because you control and time when you tackle now, which is far better.

I played the Japanese demo for 5 hours straight last night (I'm in America) and for those who said this is the same old thing, surely you haven't played more than a couple of matches. At first I thought the same, but then it hit me that the player movement is more fluid (despite very few new animations), dribbles work better (Neymar is a monster!), passing feels really good (even long passes, which I've always avoided using because they were so imprecise), etc.
HOWEVER... TRY PLAYING USING MANUAL! Whether you use L2 (PS3) or the full manual shooting, this changes EVERYTHING about the gameplay drastically!!! I used the full manual passing (with L2) to make some spectacular passes and a couple of goals I never thought I could in PES 2012 (those that resemble Iniesta looping a ball over the last line of defenders for a running Messi). It's incredible. After a few games I could not put it down.

So basically, you're saying that it's crap if you don't play manual? This is a sign of a badly programmed game. It should be fun, challenging and interesting to play right out of the box. You shouldn't have to spend 30mins before you even get started altering crap like game speed, control settings, player stats etc etc to make the game remotely playable.
These people that say stuff like:
"OMG u guyz suk. Ur not playin it corectly. U need to [lists about 30 different settings changes] den its awsum!" This annoys me.
