I agree. PES 2013 is great

if what it says in that article is correct. and PES has done worse in sales than last year. then that really is very very sad.

LIKE BEYOND BELIEF SAD

like what sort of people do we have in society sad.

oh look theirs a great football game over their YES BUT IT DOES NOT SAY FIFA ON THE CASE DOES IT oh yes you are right what action do we take?

lets make believe it does not exist and just buy fifa anyway

Sales of a regular sports sim series are largely based on the reputation of the previous games.

PES was thee gamers football game of choice for years, but they dropped the ball really badly with PES 2008. Not only was the game shockingingly bad, but the online function was a train wreck. FIFA 08 wasn't even that good, but hey, it was playable and the online worked brilliantly. Then the following year, PES 2009 was the game that PES 2008 should have been, but otherwise no great steps forward were made, but once again the online experience was a lag infested nightmare. Meanwhile, FIFA 09 had improved much and the online was once again, excellent. FIFA had become the only sensible choice for the mainstream gamer wanting a slice of video soccer action. Konami was literlly chasing its fanbase away with a big shit covered stick.

Once individuals and groups of friends have made a jump over to another competing football game, it is going to be very hard to win them back. What would need to happend for a dramatic turn around in the games fortunes would be for FIFA to totally alienate thier fanbase the same way that PES 2008 alienated its fanbase. Even if Konami proceed to release the most amazing soccer sim known to man with ultra advanced AI, the majority of people are going to pick it up, and because its not FIFA and they are not used to it, are going to find 101 reasons to reject it within the first ten minutes of gameplay, if they even last that long. (much as I do with FIFA tbh).

and even if the gameplay is groundbraking better than the previous years a game without offline league mode / community mode is not worth supporting :realmad:

alls anybody has to do is play PES 13 demo 2 for half hour and they realise how great of a game it actually is.

FIFA 2002 - 2006 were complete crap but still sold very well

iv seen videos on youtube of FIFa fanboys playing the PES 2013 demo saying stuff like its a terrible game i advise everybody not to go near it.

and of people making a vid rating the game 4/10. then setting the comments to approval only and only accepting hate comments towards PES

basically what it all comes down to is narrowmindedness

konami can do whatever they want with PES. they could make it a million times better than PES 5. all these FIFA players are not interested because it says PES on the case. ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT

you have fifa 13 selling more than fifa 12 when it basically is fifa 12 with a allmost no improvements.

then you have PES 13 a massive improvement on last years PES doing worse in the sales than last years PES 12.

is this really what the games industry is coming to

it makes no sense at all

Sup Steve,

At the end of the day...it is really your own preference.

If you like PES 2013 ...it is not a problem for most.

But if you like Fifa then you get flamed with insults of "fan boy" and trolling.

For me PES is nowhere near Fifa's class ..hands down. PES only offers dissapointment after disappointment.

Did you read the article? Did you see where Dan pointed out that Fifa was class..?

Do this for me one thing for me .....check the names of the first ten threads in this forum and let me know if they are pointing out positives or negative attributes of PES 2013.

You can love PES all you want ....but don't hate on Fifa for PES's continuous demise.

peace

I think PES 2013 is improved on Game play, passing and other aspects, certainlly it has old unsolved issues like AI cheating etc, but when i
play pes 2013, i can feel the positives and effort konami put in the game attempting to bring PES back on the right track, BUT... Where is
the RIGHT TRACK, What is it? does it really exist? or maybe there has never been a Perfect soccer sim(RIGHT TRACK STANDARD) like PES 6(not perfect at all), hopefully there will be one coming out in my life time, i doubt that though. I am optimistic about PES but not blindly.

IMO PES 2013 is best PES game since PS3 platform was out. Yes, the
game has tons of problems or weakness big and small, yet I d rather
get 2 red cards, lose like 3:1, and score a fantasic goal(on topplayer LV) which i ll remember along with its build up process for the rest of 2012 and 2013 than doing nothing or playing other shitty video games.

If KONAMI can make right decisions, solve old issues, further more--
listen to what PES fans really want, obviously it is easy to say than
done, but who knows, maybe PES 2014 will turn out to be legendary....... or like usual tradition, one step forward, two steps backwards or worse.

I spent past 5 months playing Skyrim or Dark souls(not on daily basis) until my fingers hurt, both are good games, but both have some shortcomings..... so just like in PES 2013. I want to play PES 2013 for
a change, have not finished Dark souls yet, but can be bothered to
farm souls in Darkroot garden at the ledge corner next to stair way slope, too bloody boring.

By the way, you just can not score goals in Dark souls with Drake sword.

I do hope one day a British video game developing company can make a
great soccer sim which can surpass both EA's FIFA and KONAMI's, at
least give them some pressure of industry competitions to drive things
forward which is significant for any soccer sims game developing. Because SOCCER was originated from UK and introduced to the world
in modern era, Brits know what soccer really is all about by heart, they
should produce solid good soccer video games.

good luck to all PES gamers.

^leads to big questions when Seabass comes back again for 2014. 2013 probably benefited from his year off.

fingers hurting is a sign of repetitive strain injury

Thanks for telling me the medical term, i know the cure for that is to
quit playing PS3 games which is impossble for me.

I think overuse my fingers playing nice video games in exchange for spiritual or mental pleasure and entertainment is a fine deal.

Carry on playing ML on topplayer LV with my Default team will get me
Repetitive Frustration Injury soon, wondering the best way to heal it, LOL.

I really hope that Konami will bring back the PES series back to it's root which is simulation not arcade , what do you guys think ? is it start from PES 2008 until now that PES changes into arcade soccer game ?

PES 2013's ML online is bloody terrible! It takes forever to find an opponent. I have been loyal to PES since 2010; this year however has changed my mind. Irregardless of whether PES has better game-play, FIFA's online actually works. Sorry Konami, you have lost another loyal gamer, gg.

Gameplay should be the #1 factor is sports games, the rest is irrelevant IMO . Without good gameplay a sports game is dead in the water and PES 2013 has superb gameplay!

You have a staggering amount of ignorance OCKRASS...

Complaints threads about PES is mainly towards the lack of league mode, or the new boots feature in FL. The raw gameplay is a clear winner to PES, where basically everything else is won by FIFA.

Don't make it sound like you say it's OK to like an inferior game, because from a technical point of view, the inferior game is not decided. You also praised FIFA12 up in the skies, a game that is so flawed that it makes PES2012 shine like the Betlehem star.

I wish you no ill, I just wish you would develop a sense of reflection around your opinions. It would make you sound less underdeveloped when you reply as well, just a friendly suggestion.

You are blaming Konami for people not playing MLO at the same time as you? Just because you can't find a match, doesn't mean the online is broke.

No.

Whilst the gameplay itself is as smooth as it has ever been and sometimes seems every bit as smooth as the offline game is (on PC btw), the online functionality is overall pretty f-ing bad.

Aside from the long waits in the match making, when I want to play with a friend, we cannot use the game to communicate or contact each other in any way shape or form. Instead, we have to phone or text each other to organise games which have to be 'Friendlies' as Konami have taken ranked match rooms away.

In my opinion, PES gameplay is miles better than FIFA gameplay and always has been (with exception of PES 2008). but with FIFA, not only have they always had smooth online gameplay but they also practically have thier own social networking system built into the game.

No matter how good PES becomes (and this years version is excellent), Konami can never expect to compete with FIFA on the pitch alone.
