PES 2016 to Feature More Licenses Than Ever Before

This news broke a few days ago so i thought i'd post it in-case anyone is interested...

"Konami's focus for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 will be to gain new licenses more than ever. Erik Bladinieres, Global Director of Konami's Football Division, revealed in an interview with PESaurios that Konami is set to sign new deals to include more licensed teams and leagues in PES 2016.

In the last few weeks there have been rumors that Konami could lose their exclusive UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League license. While Konami secured Europe's best club competitions for the first time in 2008, the deal was extended in 2012. Even though no contract details were disclosed at the time, it's very likely that the current Konami UEFA deal runs for four years until 2016.

Erik Bladinieres disclosed that Konami will put the focus on new licenses for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, while the series will keep most of their current licensed competitions, leagues and clubs. Although the Global Director of Konami's Football Division didn't reveal further details in the interview, he announced that PES will feature never-seen-before licenses, some of them to be announced as soon as June.

There will be no more updates for PES 2015 to improve the licensing situation of the Brazilian league, Erik Bladinieres also revealed. It would anyway be a priority for Konami to include the Brazilian league in PES 2016, even though it would be very complex to sign a deal due to the poor organization of the Brasileirão.

Yesterday, we already reported that Konami will release the first official PES 2016 News at the 2015 UEFA Champions League Final (June 6) and E3 2015 (June 16-18) in June 2016."

Aaaaaaand there comes Indian Super League or some other shit no one cares about (no offence).

Seriously though, they should work on stadium licenses. We can handle the teams, even if more is always better.

Realistically, the best we could hope for is the Turkish or Russian leagues. But who knows what it will be...
But the news may come sooner than we think. 20 minutes ago they announced that new PES news is coming Monday...

I'd love to see Jupiler League, this one, alongside Eredivisie, is a true wonderkid nursery.

And Lörd TH, "Se disser o meu nome errado de novo eu vou te dar um murro". Lopetegui style. :boxing:

Its good that they seek further licensing, but it shouldnt be the top priority, since even with licensed leagues, they leave a lot of work to be done for regular users. Like we got Ligue 2 this year, but im still working on it, fixing wrong numbers, appearances, ratings, formations, lineups. There were many things that went wrong, despite that it is oficially licensed. Who knows if it will or not be the same issue in PES 16? I would rather try to do my best fixing remaining gameplay flaws, bring in as much stadiums as possible, improve main atmosphere, so you could add as much stuff as you could in PES 13 with various ad-boards and so on. Even to include at least some kind of stadium creator version, if stadiums will continue be problematic. Also creating new Master League with more realistic transfers, existing injuries, much more options in almost every aspect, because now its only bare bones. And for once, no more fake teams that appear as ghosts and you cant do a thing or new talents with the name Carrick, Gerrard or Lampard who even look exactly the same. :D There are tons of work to be done in PES 16, waiting for further news. In overall, I take these news about new leagues as a positive thing. Just a bit woried, that no confirmation for ps3 has been made.

Come on fellas quit giving stick to the Indian Super League. Even if they are shit, it'll still bring the likes of Del Piero, Materrazzi, Trezeguet and Elano back on the rosters and you can have them as regen again ;D
I used to love Del Piero in the older versions of PES.

And that announcement will most probably them updating the copa libertadores to the 2015 versions...
who don't worry about ps3 version. PES and FIFA continued to make PS2 versions till 2012 (seven years after the generation switched), so PS3 is not any problem. I guess there could be versions with less features, but you'll get to buy them cheaper...

Parkinfed It was just the first league that came to my head, nothing more. But you have to agree that even the Turkish, Russian or MLS are more attractive, both in gaming and real life.

I totally agree, but being an Indian it just doesn't seem right... :(

PS. MLS and Turkish league ok, not so sure about the Russians though. inb4 people start requesting racist chants for realism sake.

I get you, we as portuguese get mixed feelings when we see our league so well positioned in the UEFA rankings, but people always say it's shit. (and yes, it is)

Russian league, for me, it's useless. I only mentioned it because it's getting increasingly more relevant at european level.

a PS4 edit mode should be their priority. on PS4 the edit mode is poorer than on PS1 days. no kits, no emblems it`s a god damn shame. not able to share option files, if sony don`t allow the old ways konami have to create new ways for us. the gameoplay is king but the edit mode is meh

Yeah. The update i believe will be about an updated Argentinian league. The past few live updates have been updating them teams. First time they have bothered.
If they did it properly, they'd have to add an extra ten teams since the format has since changed...

Also, i do believe 2016 will still come out on the 360/ps3. I did hear is sold pretty well. I guess people brought it over the next gen versions for editing reasons? I believe the PS2 got PES2014. It never had new moves/leagues. It was just an update...
