if you turn off pes shop players, do hidden youth players still show up?
Yes, they do.
They still appear even if you turn off the 'Hidden/Classic Players' option before starting an ML game.

Are the hidden players real players or what? Does anyone have som kind of information?
I totally agree with Ko_nami about Alan Smith, he's a bit too good in the game for someone who can't even make the BENCH of a club with a serious lack of strikers at the moment (if Saha or Rooney get injured Utd are screwed). Although they did just buy Larson till mid march??
You mean the newcomers, right? The newcomers are just players that the CPU has made up.
It works a lot like how it used to work in the Champ Manager games. Once the current generation of players start to age and decline, a new set of young players with enormous potential emerge. This happens in real life aswell except here, these new young players have random names and appearances etc, etc.
newcomers are not randomly computer generated, they are simply players that is pre-wrote into the game. with special editing tools you can find these premade youngsters.
For example, some players always shows up and become superstars:
Palmieri
Jean
Kaiser
etc.,
Good Italians:
Pazzini
Piccolo
Palmieri
Donadel
Motta
That should keep your percentages up for a bit.

pazzini is decent but not >90, Im not sure what you mean by target-man type, do you mean post player?
it seems like italians lack good strikers, I might have to use foreign strikers after gilardino get past 30years old. At least my backline is pretty much italian, which is good because thats what they are good at.
Maldini - Nesta - Cannavaro - Matheiu (exception)
The target-man type of striker is big, tall and very strong. He can hold the ball up well and his heading and jumping ability is one of his strengths coupled with his good finishing ability.
Not sure why holding the ball up is called 'Post Player' in PES/WE. They should've called it 'Target Man' which would make a whole lot of sense in my opinion.
