Good news if it's true but I wouldn't be so sure yet.

Most likely going to include the January transfers. Knowing Konami though, does anybody reckon that this may screw up your option file on downloading and installing it, as it were?

Also, why pay for a roster update when you can just transfer the players yourself? Hmmm. This makes me think that they would then remove this function from the game altogether.

So the downloadable content will require microsoft points for xbox360 users,

id say so, just had a thought maybe the dlc will be everything theyve taken out of the game for the last few years like differnt modes that were on ps2 but didnt make it to next gen

personally id love kit template, balls and boots updates:lol:

The timing of the update, if the source is genuine, would suggest its solely for transfer updates. You never know though I suppose.

Transfers will be useless however if kits and balls are included in the DLC I'll be really happy.

It's useful for online. You don't want to feel outdated when playing the game in February. It's a shame that they will charge us.

@shaun 7.

You are only thinking about the offline mode, but the transfers i'm 100% sure that they will be for the online mode, Konami knows you can edit and transfer players offline mode, they made the game, but the online mode it's uneditable, and the DLC saves a file in the folder "Game Data Utility" on the PS3 which you can't copy just like the DLC for COD4.

Wait, I don't have online. I didn't know that it's usless to update the transfers in offline. So you won't play with updated transfers in online even if you update them in offline mode right?

No, you can't play with your own squads online; otherwise everyone would register the dream team to their favourite side.

Well, i think that for 2009 you will be able to upload your ML team, so, it could be like a dream team, so, that would be cool also to play against other dream team, that way it's like being a Manager, you choose your best players and let the best team win.

@ shaun7, RB14 is right, you can't play with the roster update that you create in the offline in the online mode, so that's why i think that the DLC will be for the online mode.

How would the downloadable content work with regards to having maintained your own option file?

i.e. you've created the kits for the non-licensed teams, updated some player appearances etc and then the update comes out, would this mean you'd have to create this option file all over again?

Well as it's been said before it's most likely only for the online users, but for people who only play the game offline they wouldn't have to worry about this as they could just do the transfers themselves or they could just download an option file.

i despise paying for DLC, especially when most of it should be in the game, like Ninja Gaiden releasing costly DLC costumes which should be awarded for completing the game. i certainly will refuse to pay for anything i think should have been in the original game. saying its a roster update is an unlikley thing, PES has generally been useless online and i doubt they would want to complicate it by having the people who have paid for rosters not been able to play those who havent, and i doubt they will stop you playing online without a roster update.

end of the day the rosters update should be free like in Madden, and i really dont think that will be the content, however it code be another game mode or something and you get a roster update along with it, either way paid for DLC isnt a good thing IMO

If the DLC ends up being a full roster/formation/starting 11 update, along with a couple of new stadiums, balls, boots etc. then I might just buy it.

I won't, however, pay for just a roster update. That said, I find it hard to believe the DLC will be JUST a roster update, as Konami are surely aware that people release free OF's every February for that purpose.
