Only in my first proper ML season and it seems conceding corners and freekicks (closer than 35 yds) is a recipe for CPU awesomeness to follow!

So it seems play a perfect defensive game each and every time out and I won't have to suffer the indignities of a Craig Bellamy over the shoulder scissor kick from a clearing header from my CB from 20 yds out, that loops over my keeper ;-) Now if the ML was really realistic Bellamy would have had a court appearance and wouldn't have been able to play in the first place, LOL!

It's all lulz now as I'm not very good and typically take season 2 as the promotion year, but if that's stopping a promotion bid in season 2, then it will be a parade of WTFs!

Champions League final vs Atletico Madrid, first half I'm 2-0 up. They score 3 jammy goals, I get the equaliser late on, it goes to penalties, I lose..... very annoyed!! :realmad:

I've been having a torrid time with my ML. I'm starting to win now but, I can now tell when the CPU is going to score, I just know. they bomb down the line cut across near my box, I tackle (get the ball) foul!
free kick, Its a dead cert they will score, the only time they haven't scored is when they took a free kick, it bounced out form the corner, then from the corner my defender decided not to clear the ball, goal.

I was playing Man U last night, drawing up till the 86th minute, when I conceded a goal that probably wouldn't happen, from a corner, cleared out, comes back in, player shoots, deflects off of a trailing leg.

when all this happens I just try to put it down to luck, things like this happen in football, its not cpu cheating, people are moaning about nothing.. until this happens.

FA Cup, Sunderland v Liverpool. I'm given a free kick inside my half, I shoot it sails over all the players, past their keeper into the back of the net! Yes what a goal!! no?? GOALKICK?? are you having a laugh??

I checked for offside, I checked for fouls, nothing. I even counted the players to make sure an invisible one wasn't offside, I have no clue why it didn't stand!

I will video it on my phone tonight and post it up, as I don't know any other way.

Oh well!

Because it's illegal to score from a free kick in your own half. that's the same in real life too.

Thats not true actually. You are confusing in-direct and direct free-kicks.

Don't forget, Paul Robinson scored a free kick from his own half when he played for Spurs against Watford a few years ago.

Also, you can score directly from a goal kick against an opponent. Konami do not full understand the laws of the game if that is not allowed in PES.

Sorry for the double post but I wanted to chip in with my own rage...

Last week, I had reached the third season with a team that was amazing, Arsenal with Yoann Gourcuff, Marek Hamsik, Cavani, Cristiano Ronaldo, Aguero, and more. It was the closest I had gotten to building a dream team. and then I was a tad annoyed since I had lost to Wigan. So I decided to create a master league with Real and max funds and master negociator for kicks. got a whole lot of players and such, and then i saved to try this epic team i had built(although not using it much since it wasn't really earned)... After I saved, I discovered the horror that I had saved over my old save. So I set my controller aside( I do this when I rage to prevent any real damage ) and threw my remote controller randomly from the anger, and bam, it went right into a clock. **** you PES.

EDIT: My bad, didn't know about that.

"A goal may not be scored directly from an indirect free kick, rather it must be touched by a second player before a goal can be scored. If the ball goes in goal directly from an indirect free kick, a goal kick is awarded to the defending team".

Ha! I never thought about that!

so the opposing side was offside? thus being an indirect freekick? I guess that would make sense.

so if I passed the ball first and then scored it would have been ok.. interesting

so a direct freekick is the result of a foul, and the indirect freekick is a result of resuming play??

Champions league quarter final with OM, against Roma. 1 nil win in the first leg. In the second leg, I batter them throughout the match at their place. There goal came early on. They had a tame shot from inside the box, it one of my defender's legs and somehow managed to magically curl into the net. It was one of 2 shots they had all match. I had about 17. Penalties came, the usual bullshit. My last penalty, I aimed right, it should have gone right, but it went down the middle. Their last penalty, I dived the right way but coudn't save it. It's funny how when they dive the right way, they ALWAYS save it. I hate this fucking game right now. CHEATING BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God, don't get me started on penalties in this game, they are lame beyond belief. AI is like Dino Zoff in his prime. Fooking hate them.

Lost a goal in a crucial ML match last night that was half a yard off side, pretty much put me out the title race. Managed to refrain from using the disc as a Frisbee, just sickening that the usually perfect linesman managed to fuck up in such a crucial match. Really do despise this game sometimes, problem is I'm addicted now, just the inconsistency of the game really fucks me off.

PES does have that unique quality of being very addictive... but the most frustrating game in the universe!! Always has been like that.

Yeah but back then it was acceptable, but after so many years it just becomes offensive to see the lack of progress after all the money we (the consumers) have invested into this product.

It is a blatant scam, and for me it is incredibly offensive that they sell us lie after lie every year and how their lies are exposed after one week of playing their products, which is incredibly offensive and representative of what's happening with the real world.

We have seen how the company itself admits to lying about the most important selling points, after they have the money in their hands:

------------------------------------------------------
Konami: "The PES Production team has enhanced the 360-degree passing ratio, offering unprecedented levels of control over every pass, shot, headed ball, throw-in and through ball. This allows users to pass the ball into space, and move their play with total freedom. Players must precisely weight their passes and second-guess the runs of their teammates and exploit their movement, while lofted through-balls have an all-new level of accuracy."
------------------------------------------------------

After a week of playing their product I already knew for a fact that they had lied about the "offering unprecedented levels of control over every pass" -- bullshit.

I can already imagine Seabass and Co selling PES12,

Konami: "last year we promised an engineered for freedom video game.... well.... it wasn't, the passing system was in reality a highly assisted system with little freedom, nonetheless, it was a definite step in the right direction; with Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 we look to expand on the foundation that was established with Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, offering unprecedented levels of freedom over every aspect of the game"

And then, after they sell PES12, they go on to admit that they lied once again in order to sell their product; the most worrying thing of it all, is how at the end of the day, both the company and the consumer, act like $60 on a yearly basis is nothing, act like lying to your face is nothing.

Konami and other corporations/companies are stealing money, PES11 does not cost $60 on a yearly basis: we are paying over $180 for a product that really costs about $60.

A friend of mine went to buy a new game the other game, and he was going to use PES11 as a means of covering part of the payment, but then found out that after three to four months of use, the brand new Blu-ray Disc which was originally worth $60, is now a brand new Blu-ray Disc which is worth exactly $15.

We are paying over $60 for a product that does not last more than three months, and that after three months, costs less than 30% of the original price.

However, if you return Gran Turismo today, which costed the very same amount that PES11 costed as a new product, Gran Turismo is more valuable than PES11 as a used Blu-ray Disk.

PES And FIFA have not really improved over the years, and being a long time fan of footy sims, I just had about enough of them, I refuse to pay $60 on a yearly basis for a product that never improves and for a company that is practically stealing my money.

Konami and other companies, should be more respectful towards the people who finance their business.

Ah man! That is a brutal example of user error
I guess at least it was only* the third season and not the 10th. Do you have any older saves maybe from season two to prevent you from starting over?

Cesc - On PES 2010, I wrote over a ML accidently. I actually made a thread about it, it was my very first post... but it got 0 responses :crymore:. So I got disheartened and didn't return to this site until PES 2011 came out!

Amateur - I get what you're saying, but companies will alwyas try to sell there product by telling little fibs. Movie companies do it. "A non stop thrill ride" and all that crap.

I think Seabass has got it in his head that the only way for the game to work is to cheat. He needs to change his old fashioned ways, or step down and let someone else have a go at the franchise.

Yet another example of how naive or careless people are, you are comparing PES with a movie....

I have never paid over $240 on the same movie, not ever; on the other hand, I have invested over $240 on the same video game.

And when you have invested more than $240 on a video game, over the course of five or ten years, you expect that video game to improve; and when you see that it has not really improved, you know that the company is stealing your money.

A movie is a "non stop thrill ride" and it has a rigid script and a one-time budget, you do not donate $60 on a yearly basis for a great movie in particular.

That is, in my opinion, the very great difference between films and video games, very different animals. However, seeing as PES is more a movie than it is a video game, your comparison does make sense.

The video game industry is making dumber and dumber products with each passing year, quite possibly the most user friendly video games to date, they are targeting young kids, young kids then become addicted to the drug and continue paying for the drug for years to come.

They know that young kids who own PS3 consoles have parents who can afford to give away $60 on a yearly basis no questions asked; the problem is, that at the end of the day, as a parent or as a kid or as a young adult, you end up paying $60 on a yearly basis for a video game that has not enjoyed any fundamental changes in the last 5 years, so you end up paying a total of $300 for a product that was worth around $60.

That's great business for the company, but is a scam for the consumer.

Wow, wow, wow... don't start again, Amateur!

I'm not comparing games to films. I'm just saying that companies of any kind will always do the best to sell their products. Whether it be films, games, cleaning products... whatever.

I know there is a difference in how much money we spend on video games and films.

You have a really negative view on everything. Konami are not trying to scam, I just believe that Seabass is too stubborn to move on. PES is still a good game, despite it's MANY flaws. It's not like they're saying it's a football game, when it's actually a golf game! You know they release demo's of games, don't you? This allowes you to try before you buy. If you've played PES for years, you should know what to expect each time. Nobody is forcing you to buy the game!
In my opinion, the game has improved on the last one. Not massively, but it has.

Don't things like the loosing at the last minute to an goal scored from offsied just make it a bit more realistic though? Have you never seen your real life football team loose in the last minute due to a poor decision by the referee/4th Official?
Yes a bad referee decision is frustrating but as long as it doesn't happen in the majority of your matches, then surely its more realistic?

I have to agree with Ali the game has improved, and I think people bitch about PES (self included) more than any other game in the world. On the other hand this is the PES rage thread!! ;)

The referees are so biased in this game, it's untrue! It's not realistic at all. Sometimes it's so obvious that you're not gonna score no matter how hard you try. I know that in real football you can have 18 shots on target and still lose 1-0, but the way PES does it makes it so obvious, there's literally nothing you can do about it.
