Hi,

Recently purchased PES2010 for PC, Running it on Windows 7
However i am getting contant slowdowns in the game, sometimes its pretty smooth on other occasions its really slow.
I'm running the game on HIGH 1024x768 at Moment, however it still happens on Medium
No antvirus running all background apps closed, all latest geforce drivers, all other games run fine Street Fighter 4
Mem usage before game 29%

My Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 32
AMD ATHLON X2 5000+
2GB Corsair XMS RAM
BFG Geforce 7950GT 256MB

Can you please help me? Let me know if their is a fix for this

Has to be the graphics card as your other specs are beyond fine and Windows 7 isn't a problem.

Konami are absolutely awful at optimising the game. What happens at high settings on a lower resolution? Have you tried switching the v-sync and/or frame skipping boxes in the Settings program?

i disagree
im playing the game on medium using an onboard gpu (AMD780g) while my gpu card is getting replaced
and it runs flawlessley

i think the game is optimized very well

Er you've just proved my point haven't you? It doesn't work properly on his specs but it does on yours so it isn't optimised well at all.

Doesnt make sence as I can play Street Fighter 4 fine without slowdowns
PES 2009 also ran fine!

On medium it says DX9 (128MB Pixel Shader 3.0) still get the same prob on that
My card is actually a 256MB so should run on HIGH settings

Like sometimes it runs fine for like 7 mins, then suddenly it starts slowing down
Im so disappointted after waiting alomost a year for this game

PLZ KONAMI come out with some hotfixes PLZ
Another thing that doesnt make sense is the game is not offically compatible with Windows 7 ? duh

Personally I don't think PES 10 was designed for Windows 7, my case in point being that under XP(service pack 2) I had flawless performance at High detail and the max resolution albeit with PES 9, as soon as I went to Windows 7 PES 9 had massive issues and slowdowns. I would not give the duh to Konami on this as much as I would Microsoft, lets just say that like many whom have been dooped into Win 7 are regretting it big time. I will qualify the statement by saying that Win 7 is a nice OS but not atm for games.

Windows 7 is perfectly fine for all games I've tried. Not tons but given That it includes the likes of Borderlands, Fallout 3 and Dragon Age its not bad. By contrast, my Vista experience pretty much started and ended with Unreal Tournament 3 and BioShock - both would crash randomly on Vista but were perfect under XP.

If PES isn't designed for Windows 7, that isn't the fault of the OS.

Make sure there are no background processes that chew IO resources or CPU time. Vista was guilty of that - it had lots of services to get around the fact it was a dog and you had to shut off to get decent performance. Load up a few applications (browser/word etc) and watch CPU usage and disk IO. If you see a spike try and find out what's causing it - it might be background services you can turn off.

I agree fully with that, atm win7 is what Vista was 4 years ago, by the second quarter of 2010 they would have ironed out the defects.

I think the point that I am trying to convey here is that XP is the most stable OS for games while Win7 has a few compatibility related issues. Vista atm is probably the best OS for the DX10 compatibility albeit that PES only uses DX9.

Fallout is a Bethesda game so it is likely to be well programmed and hence the reason why on any OS it runs well, Bioshock problems are mainly attibuted to drivers on the newer OS's but runs better on XP inho, dragon age I want to play but haven't forced myself to buy it yet so I won't comment, but on the specs it is a vary moddest demanding game.

Bestheda does not produce bug free software - they're no worse or better than most developers. That might be because they produce sandbox games, which makes it harder to debug all possible code paths. I haven't used Win7 but it is still quite new and I think i'll prove to be a stable platform, on par with WinXP.
