PES2013 and the Steam version of the game

Hey folks, I haven't stopped by in a while and this is a question I can't seem to find via Google and a quick skim over the forum.

Here goes:

Now that PES2013 is on Steam, I'm thinking of buying it, so I'm wondering for the purposes of editing it via patches, is the CD version easier to use or would the Steam version suffice?

The CD version is easier to use, folks. The Steam version downloads PES2013 to the latest version, making the PESEDIT patch either impossible or at least very difficult. I'm asking for a refund from Steam and I'm going to purchase the CD version instead.

Why would the PESEdit version be difficult on the latest version of the game? I have the latest version and PESEdit works flawlessly.. hmm..

Are you using steam? If so, tell me how you did it

Also I was assuming PESEdit needed a fresh install as someone told me that. Turns out its just a steam issue by the looks of it

I'm not using Steam for PES, no. But I do use it for Football Manager and I patch that with no issues, so I don't see why PES would be any different!

Neither do I, hence my frustration that it isn't. the guys over at PES-Edit have gave me a load of advice, which I have followed to the letter including many fresh installs and downloads (I downloaded 30GB yesterday!) and it just isn't working.

I have the steam version of pes2013. I also downloaded the smoke patch blue because it had all the official kits and licenses. I tried to start my game and i got a "Pes 2013 is not installed " message. How do I fix that?
