PES4 National League Thread

Want to know how you can register for the PES4 National League? First details on how to stake your claim can be found right here...

On Friday 17 September, everyone in the UK will have a chance to qualify for the PES4 National League. To qualify, you need to play the PES4 demo disc, which will be available exclusively from Virgin Megastores across the UK for a mere £1.99 (redeemable from the full price game when it is released). There will also be pods running the demo inside Virgin Megastores if you'd prefer not to take the game home and practice.

Anyone who beats the demo generates a code. You'll need to write this code down on a form that you'll get from the store, or fill out the details at the website address on the form.

Only the best players can qualify for the League, so make sure practice lots! We're adding another eight - as yet to be confirmed - regional leagues this year to accommodate all the numbers. Even so, it places will be hotly contested as ever.

More details will be released soon, meantime hold tight and watch this space!

This is as much notice as you can get. No excuses this time. If you want to be the national PES4 champ, get cracking.

Update Sept 23 2004:

After a well-earned break, the League is back and very soon it will be your chance to get involved in the only Pro Evolution Soccer 4 national competition.

If you think you have got what it takes to battle it out for nine months against the very best players in the UK, then here is what you need to do:
1. Get down to your local Virgin Megastore from 27th September to play the demo.
Demos will be available to play in store
2. Beat the demo and write down your unique code - this will tell us how well you did!
3. Go to REGISTER on www.pesleague.co.uk and enter all of your details. Only one entry per person please - so make sure you record your best score against the demo!
4. Patiently wait until the end of October, which is when we will contact all of the lucky players with a place in the National League!
5. Virgin Megastores will also be giving the league demo to the first customers to buy PES4 on release day!
There are even more venues this year - 18 in total, so there's bound to be one very close by. There have also been some minor changes to the rules to make sure that everyone has a chance to get to the final and that we find the best players! All players have to play 20 games this season, so only the players that have completed all of their games stand a chance of qualifying. Plus you can play the same opponent more than once, just not on the same day.

So don't delay, MONDAY 27th SEPTEMBER is the day that the PES4 league hits Virgin Megastores, so make sure you secure our place in the UK's most exciting league.

So to be entered into the pes4 league you have to beat the demo? Will you be playing the demo at the league or the proper game? Or is the demo a test and only those who complete it or something get to apply for a place?

This is how it worked for PES3:-
Get the demo. Get a good score to get a code. Enter the code to register for a league, depending on certain conditions like number of people wanting to enter that league and their scores. If you qualify, you will be notified by post. Then you have to turn up at the league venue on the correct dates to play your league matches against other league players. Try to win every match to qualify for the national finals.

New news will be posted in this thread so keep checking.

Is there any sites where i can order the demo? Will every virgin store have it. My local one is abit dodgy.

It depends which league you want to get into. Some leagues required a 2-0 win minimum and some you could get into with a draw. Plus this year there will be more interest so it might be tougher to get in.

Why do u guys in England always have the fun

I love PES but there arent any tournaments close to me over here in Holland...

*sigh* guess I'll have to wait a little longer for the online play (really hope that will be in PES 5)

Try the Virgin site. They might have it. These demo discs? Can they only be beaten once so that once the code it displayed no-one can re-enter with the same disc? Or does the code change according to scores and such?

I'm going on holiday on the 18th of September, will I be able to do the demo thing when I get back early October or will I have to rush it on the friday?

And do we get more than one chance on the demo or does it self-destruct or something after the first attempt?

Not sure of the new venues yet. Will post them when they're listed.

The demo gives you a code after each time you play it, even if you lose or draw. So keep trying until you get a good 2-0 or 3-0 (or better) score and write down the codes. Last year, they took your first code when you register on the site so make sure it's a good result as you can't register again. You can play the demo as many times as you like but usually it only lets you play the first half of a 5-min match.

Those who have been playing WE8 will have a big advantage over those who haven't ;)

Some matches you get lucky and win 3-0. Someone claimed to win it 5-0 but he never showed up again so he was probably talking out of his.....
