Xbox version is Crap!

I am really considering trading PES 6 for the 360 for that of the PS2!
The most dissapointing game in the series yet, a major backwards step.
I don't know if it is just me, but it is really dull, even on a usually heated competitive 2 player game. They say it every year that you'll hate the subtle differences to begin with but learn to love it eventually, but not with this one I'm afraid. I might just be splitting hairs but the following grind my gears:
PS: this is without even going into the whole No Edit Mode or Replay save farce!!

1. All the pitches (even the usually lush Nou Camp) look like they are dry African pitches, with little difference no matter which of the 8 stadiums you play.
2. The team that doesn't win is usually the team that fails to take most of their 20 or so one-on-ones during a game. One through ball or turned defender is all it takes. This may not seem dull but really is when it happens time after time without really working for it.
3. Pressing the player with the ball (RB+A) does jack shit to stop or even hamper opponent any more, even with Paddy Vieria or John Terry.
4. Nothing in terms of animations that has not been seen before on PS2.
ie; Pushing, complaining to the ref....
5. What is the point of working it down the wings and crossing the ball, cause sure as shit your attacker won't win a cross with any end product.
6. Build up play is slow and laboured, almost FIFA like at times as players slip into pre set animations for passes ect..
7. No PES shop=No incentive to play tournaments like Asia Cup to get points.
8. Not a great improvement on graphics and smoothness for next gen. (When compared to Fight Night, Call of Duty 2..ect)
9. Konami are lazy and need a slap.

Don't know if these 'flaws' are consistant with the PS2 version (I know that the PS2 version has 34 stadiums, full edit mode and replay save feature).

Try playing on 'Top Player' level then and not against your mum! Mediocre... oh dear dear!!

Wot do u take me for?

Of course i play on 'Top Player' although that is mostly online against human opposition...trust me...the goals fly in FAR TOO EASY. The game has only been out 2 days and already everyone is saying that. Just wait until everyone masters the glitch moves.......the game will turn into pure repetitive boring nonsense with everyone trying the exact same thing time after time after time. earlier on today, I ran with Roberto Carlos the length of the park, zigzagged my way into the 18 yard area, and slot the ball under the keeper from a diagonal angle.....GOAL!!!!! UTTER BULLSHIT MORE LIKE!!!!

This game is going to be leakier than PES4, and that title was ruined as a competitive game by sheer folly of the defensive AI.

This is 'coin-op' style arcade football folks, not the highly realistic soccer simulation that has been going a bit of the rails since PES4 was released.

Unfortunately, I can't really answer the poll since I have bought the PC version. But overall I am happy with the PC version, will be getting the PS2 version soon.

I'm glad I haven't got an Xbox 360, coz I'd be more likely to buy FIFA than PES6 on there (I'm not a FIFA fan by the way). PES6 on the 360 looks rushed and pretty crap to be honest; for a gaming system with that much power, the graphics are bloody awful.

I went into my local independent gaming store with my mate on Wednesday, he went to pick up the game early, and while I wasn't really paying attention to the TV, it's still pretty bad that I didn't notice they had the 360 version on display instead of the PS2 version until he pointed it out.

I just wonder what Konami have been doing with their time, if they can't release a version of PES6 that isn't much more than a slightly disabled, high-res version of its PS2 equivalent.

All the PC version is, is a High resolution smoother version of its PS2 equivalent and that is cos the game is designed principally for the PS2 and the prgram is ported across to other formates with the minimum of fuss and effort.

I don't like the defence

I have the PS2 version and I'm having real trouble with getting the ball from the opponent, both human and computer. When they rush at you and sidestep I can't catch them and get a red card. But it works both ways, my human opponent is equally frustrated when I dribble through him and score.

The rebounds from the goalkeeper are a bith annoying.

I also recorded a replay with a MAJOR glitch when going head on in a strong tackle. The player who got tackled vanished and then reappeared and floated really fast all over the pitch and suddenly was clean through on goal! I saved the replay and have a Xport but don't know how to make it into a videoclip.

Other than that the game is f*****g awesome! I especially like the shots that just rises and rises all the way into the top corner.

Half baked and undercooked Pes6 for 360

NO THE GAME DID NOT LIVE UP TO EXPECTATIONS........what a total let down!

Konami have shown their attitude to the xbox360........so here's mine......
I've taken the game straight back to the shop and got FIFA 2007 instead.
and to my suprise it's very good.

so in next genration terms so far it is EA 1 Konami 0 :realmad:

pes6 evaluation

Having played thousands of matches since iss pro 98, I can say that these are the best soccer games ever. Of course the simple iss pro 98 looks very old now. Since the old days many changes were introduced into the game and most of them made it look better. The last two or three versions (pes6, pes5 and pes4) are not very different and I think that each of them has its strong and weak points.
I only write about pes6: the graphics are good and the framerate is ok (in my 1,5GHz P4, GeForce 5200 128MB system) and smooth (in pes5 there were some minor problems even with the low detail low res mode). The structure of the menus is basically the same; I consider the changes minor. The gameplay is a little different in pes6. According to my opinion some of the changes are good and some are not so good.
Let me start from the good changes: the power of the shots is increased and more goals are scored from outside the GK area.
The GKs seem to move better (although I haven't played the game enough to be certain). The players fell much more realistically and the stupid fouls are reduced in number.
And some "bad" changes: perhaps the shot power is too much sometimes - I guess this is a matter of opinion. The defence is less capable to manage even simple situations (for instance a player running with the ball against three opponents). The body contact effect (very evident in pes5) is reduced - I think this is against realism - so that a player can run with the ball even when "sandwiched" by two opponents. The sliding tackles are less predictable now - it was easier in pes5, and more realistic in my opinion.
Overall I think it is a good game, I don't know if it is better than pes5, maybe we just have to get used to the new controls ...
I would underline as the best point of the game the improved shot power and as the "worst" (not really bad but worse than pes5) the new dribbling system which makes it less fulfilling to score after an impressive run with the ball (since it is so much easier) ...

Bought the ps2 version on Wednesday and have had a lot of games since.

The gameplay has been slowed down but thats no bad thing. It's more realistic and does make you change your way of playing. I used to be guilty of just buying anyone with speed (thats in terms of boot speed that is) and bombing down the wing or playing the old over the top through pass. Also being a spurs man Defoe or Lennon only needed to get the ball to feet and turn sharply to be away and in on goal.

Like someone else has said though.....target men are much more usefull now because if their header ability is in the 80s or 90s then you can get flicks or goals if your positioning is better.

Dribbling is easier
Tackling is harder but you can retain the ball if performed right
Keepers are more unpredictable but I love that.....one parried a shot from a deflection from his own defender onto the post and then quickly humped it into the stands to be safe....brilliant!
Shooting is improved...scored some right belters in the last few days..have been playing at the second hardest though....will be moving up to the hardest level after my seaons ends.

Feel sorry for the 360 club....was tempted to go and buy an xbox 360 before reading about the Pro Evo game on it.

Rub your hands in glee though because as good as this PES6 is.....PS3 version is next year and after having a fulkl year to work on that....we can expect something really special.

Some things I expect in a Blu Ray version Pro Evo 7 on the Playstation 3

20-50 stadiums....Bernabeu is a class addition in PES6
As with most of the arguments aginst up to now....space on a disc will no longer curtail multiplying the pitches available.

More Licenced players

The whole team doing a pile up/on their shoulders celebration.

Linesmen running the line.

Realtime option play
ability to retrieve the ball, put it down and play on....without and black screen pause, etc

No black screen loading times.

it all clicked into place lastnight, after i picked inter milan in a friendly game against real madrid, gave figo the ball and he tore r. carlos apart with his dribbling ability, suddenly i was playing proper flowing football and scoring goals for fun!! you should stick with it if you have any doubts it will come good for you id say now that this games is a hell of a lot better than pes5 + when you throw in a up to date option file like cantonas 1 im using(links on pesfan) theres nothing to touch it

my verdict 10/10

This game has selected all the best bits out of all previous versions from 1 to 5 and and created its best incarnation of all. It's a beast of a game!

Thought i'd leave my thoughts on the 360 version

- Commentary rubbish (its just PES5 all over again)
- No editing is a shocker, Can't see why you cant do transfers. It amazes me. Also, why be able to change a players name and not their shirt name. Crazy
- Shooting - getting used to it but its not the best really. They've tried to make it too realistic, i.e you batter the ball and obviously you have less control over where it goes but it still balloons 40ft over the bar. As I said though i will get used to it
- Passing is awesome, helped by clever runs from your players
- Set Pieces against the computer are now reasonably hard to defend rather than just standing on the one spot in the 6 yard box and heading it away
- No save replays isn't ideal really is it. Nothing to show off to your pals when they come round
- I think you can see the licensing is getting there. The Premiership is the illusive one that we all want but damn you Fifa!! I think with the power of the machine more teams for the next one is a must, like the SPL, Championship, maybe more european leagues
- Player likenesses are brilliant (Henry aside, they made him worse for some reason). Fifa may have great graphics but honestly their player likenesses are horrendously bad.
- Like the introduction of the linesmen
- Not enough animations for my liking. (Maybe introduce managers on the sidelines and ability to edit them???)
- I dont know if was just down to frustration but i was a goal down in the last 5 minutes in one game and the other team started passing it around the back 4 to run down the clock. As i said i dunno if this is intended or i just got frustrated chasing them down and thought thats what they were doing
- I bumped into the ref last night during the game... nice
- Tackling is great, no random running straight through players

To sum up the game is amazing and it only lacks editing which for some will be a big loss (me for one) but this is just the start of next gen Pro Evo, it was never going to be the finished article. Cheers for now!

Pro Evo 6 Xbox360 Lag Issue Fixed !

HI all,

just to let u all know...if you feel and have experienced the is lagging or speed of the game is a little too slow, its becuase the xbox360 console is set on WIDESCREEN. Alter this setting back to NORMAL screen and the lag issue is fixed.

the speed of the game then picks up from winning eleven 10, BUT is a fraction slower, and i believe is complete right pace of the game. also skillful players turn faster and better (quick moves)

also if u didnt know all ready manual switching of players is there in SETTINGS and then CURSORS. check it out.
