I was under the impression this was a pes website for people who want to talk about the game but its starting to be overun by fifa lovers.Now if people like fifa and not pes
thats ok with me because its all about taste.For over 10 years konami have been the undisputed kings of football games and after 1 bad game people are going on like its the end of the world.I tried the fifa demo and i did not like it so i will be sticking with pes again.And it really pisses me off the way some people are going on about pes2009 when they decided after a few games its awful.Like anything new you have to give it time and then make your judgements.And imo the more you play the better it gets.So please stop trying to preech the word of fifa all the time because its bloody boring.

If you gave FIFA a chance you would see it's actually a very good game. PES has become too arcadey & hasn't moved on from it's PS2 days.

In part I do agree with you, this is a pes site, however there is no white without black and the same is with PES and FIFA, I doubt we would have BAL if it was not for BAP (yes I know WE started it but it wasn't in PES), Looking at PES2009 it looks like Konami have borrowed a lot from EA this year (yes I know its been the other way around up to now). IMO fifa has a place in this forum, as a comparison nothing more.

The reason FIFA is being discussed at length around here is probably because most of what I would describe as old guard PES fans have pretty much moved over to play FIFA this year. It's probably a combination of FIFA 09 being a great game, and PES being pretty much in reverse for the past 5 years.

People are tired.

Totally agree.

El Nino, FIFA 09 is a great game, I can't see how people can decide on a game from just playing a demo. Give it a chance and you will see that FIFA is a good game. You moan about people saying about PES2009's demo being bad, but, you've practically said the same about FIFA's.

Well maybe its time to change the name of the site then.And to say pes has been in reverse to 5 years is bullshit.Are you saying pes 3,4 and 5 were backward games?

I never said it was a bad game just that i did not like it.And btw pes 4 was a great game are you telling me you think fifa 09 is on that level?

I wasn't that big of a fan of PES4, now, PES5 is where it was, that was the best version they've released, and from there it's gone down hill.

Your still judging FIFA 09 on the demo though, you should rent it and then see what all the fuss is about. Millions of people saying the same thing about the game, are not going to be wrong, and all biased are they?

I didn't used to like FIFA that much, as I was always a PES fan, but, I've realised that it's not like that, it's about the level of quality of the games over the past few years, and for that, FIFA has become much better IMO.

Yes i agree to.And there is very little between 4 and 5.So i ask you the question again would fif09 be on the same level as them???????????

In my opinion, FIFA has a lot of improved a lot than PES. They have added a lot of features while PES have added few and removed a quite a lot of useful features.

I know that you shouldn't judge a game from a demo, but the gameplay of both PES2008 and 2009 makes me feel that I'm still playing on the PS2 but with a better graphics. You might argue that 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' but aren't you tired of having the same gameplay engine every year?

I may buy PES2009 because I skipped last year's version.

Pes 09 is definatley pretty good. And if you play the ps2 version and then pes 09 next gen you'll realize how better the animations, stadiums and shooting is. So are the headers and crosses. Fifa made a bigger improvement because fifa on ps2 was bad, really bad compared to pes on ps2. Still I think that pes 09 is better than fifa 09 but both are very good.

IMO probably.

It's been ages since I've played PES4 and PES5, and FIFA 09 has just improved so much since the earlier releases, and especially FIFA 08, I would stick it on the same level.

Well i will give it a try so because i have no loyalty to any company and there are plenty of people that have been on this forum for years that were pes die-hards that are saying the same.

I think he's saying that PES6 on PS2 and 360, PES08, and PES09 -have- Not progressed at all.

You know, many fans always say that PES5 was the best version -and- How was PES5 the best version?? This version was very annoying, every time you touched someone, that was a Foul and a Free Kick. I think the PES series has never been that "Great" to begin with.

I think it showed a Lot of Potential.. PES5 had very good Ball Physics, Passing, the Pace was Realistic, good Defending, etc, etc.. PES6 had more Fluid Gameplay, the Gameplay was Not continually stopped, etc, etc..

Every PES Title had its Positive and Negative Aspects. One would think Konami would finally release The Best Version; the Defending of PES5, the Fluidness of PES6, etc, etc.. But Konami just isn't interested in doing that, they always release a New Title, with a Few Slight Improvements and a few New Flaws to it.

One would think Konami would Improve on their good things.. maybe take the Ball Physics, Pace, and Defending from PES5 -plus- the Fluid Gameplay of PES6 -and- release it as a Next Gen version of PES.

I have no Idea about how good or how bad PES09 is, haven't even played the Demo -BUT- Honestly, How hard can it be to improve on an already established game?? I think hardcore fans will always end up disappointed by Konami.
