I thought I couldn't facepalm any harder after seeing Bale and Parker in the Team of the Year, then I saw that Walker had won Young Player of the Year...

Glad to see Van Persie winning the Player of the Year award.

Regardless of Aguero's age, he met the criteria and is twice the player Walker is and has had a brilliant season.

RvP richly deserves his award though.

Team of the year should've been:

Hart, Walker, Kompany, Koscielny, Baines, David Silva, Ben Arfa, Dempsey, Mata, RVP, Rooney

This should've been the team of the year:

Krul, Coloccini, Santon, Simpson, Williamson, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Gutierrez, Tiote, Cisse, Ba

Koscielny been pretty awesome this season. Easily our best player after Van Persie.

Exactly, definitely have him ahead of Song in our top 3 players of the year.

Apart from Kompany and Coloccini, what other centre back has been as impressive and consistent as Koscielny this season? Seriously. Add the fact that he's been surrounded by a different players in defence all season. We've had 18 different back four combinations this season, and he's looked good with all of them (apart from a few games).

Coloccini's been excellent, certainly, but having Koscielny there instead is hardly laughable, as he's been terrific too. It's a tough choice between the two tbh.

The only reason Coloccini is on there is because of Newcastles season. If they weren't in the position now I doubt he'd be on the list. Saying that Koscielny deserves to be on there considering our season too.

But one of the reasons that Newcastle have had such a good season is because Coloccini's been superb.

It's laughable when it's an Arsenal fan suggesting he should have made the team. It's like me suggesting Evans should have been in ahead of Coloccini; yes he's been one of our best players this season, but Coloccini still walks it.

I'd disagree. Koscielny's been fantastic and has shown tremendous consistency for us. He's only really had 3 poor games all season, off the top of my head - Man Utd and Blackburn away, when we were falling to pieces, and Liverpool away when Suarez turned him inside out. Apart from those three, he's been top draw in pretty much every single game.

ThierryHenry14 stop being a womb. I'm not running down Koscielny as I haven't seen enough of him this season to judge, but your arguments re. Colo are ridiculous.

Plus you can't begrude is one player in there, especially our most consistent (Ba has dropped off a bit, Cabaye has actually been somewhat inconsistent, and Cisse and Ben Arfa have only really come into his own in the second half of the season). You could argue for Krul but apparently not.

Good team Jonno. Throw in Shola somewhere and we're away.

It's not just Arsenal fans that have been praising Koscielny this season. Parts of the media have as well, even Gary Neville. He doesn't automatically deserve a place in the team but completely disregarding him from it is laughable.

Neville has really impressed me on Sky. His analysis of our failings away, and Aguero and Tevez's partnership was spot on. Its a breath of fresh air from hearing "What he's done right, is he's hit it, and its gone straight into the top corner" inane bollocks, or inserting a tired cliche and soundbite in to try and sound intelligent.
