Play games and win money!

Anyone else heard of www.worldgaming.com?

They seem to cover quite a few games for players willing to bet money on playing. I just signed up yesterday to play some Fifa10 and it seems very good the way it's organised. You can decide on how much you want to bet and they also hold regular tournaments.

I've banked myself a nice $18.36 on Fifa10 by winning 3 out of 3 so far. I say, if you feel you're good at a game, why not try and earn a bit of cash from it?

It's good fun as well, it makes the games more enjoyable because you're playing for something.

EDIT: Just noticed this thread might be in the wrong section. Please move, thanks.

Well tbh I was worried when I saw this thread title and your name posted in it! You haven't put up your house as collateral for a game yet then?

It "sounds" great, but there's always flaws. I play games in my spare time, for enjoyment, and if money was to be on the line then I've no doubt people will use cheap tricks within games to win. Even online ranking systems seem to bring out the worst in a lot of gamers, god knows what money would do.

The only game I'm probably half-decent at online as well is MW2.

Yeah imagine playing FIFA with a bunch of quitters for money, no thanks.

I doubt anyone would accept losing real money on FIFA, unless their mates were there with them and they lost the money fair and square in a 'friendly' game.

I for one wouldn't want a total stranger taking my money.

This. The whole thing sounds like a pandora's box of all the worst human qualities imaginable, that online gaming has already given us a taste of.
Seems as though it's so easy to cheat at any online game, the notion of being able to play for money in your own home unsupervised is hazelnutty.

Can't wait for the first person to end up in court for cheating on one of these. It'll happen, whether in one year or twenty, it'll happen. Just like the first time we discovered record lable don't like us sharing their music illegally...
