Player Development and training in Offline Master League

If anyone has played enough of master league offline in this year's edition of PES, please answer these questions. If you haven't played enough let me know your thoughts anyway.

I am in my second season in the master league and none of my players, although young, have developed much (playing with ML original players). Only 3 players OVR has increased (by just 1) and I am pretty sure they are the ones with early peak. I never tinkered with the training settings so every field has three focus points assigned to it.

Have the payers in your team developed much?
What training strategy do you use?

Going by last year I would think that was about normal? Once you hire better coaches and increase your focus points you will see quicker improvement.

I found last year that getting equipment and assigning it to players made a huge difference!

But last year we could like hire new coaches and staff when we had enough quid to pay them. Since we cannot do it this year I suppose this is the only type of development we are going to see. Sadly though this means that I will not be signing any 16 yo with 65 OVR this year and put my money on transfers instead.

I'm guessing the higher rank your team is, the more focus points you get, the quicker your players will go up... Basically, don't buy any youth players until you have a decent amount of focus points lol

Last ML it took me almost 2 season before I could sign a player that wasn't either a youth player or free agent!

Does team ranking only get updated at the end of the season? I thought this was something that should be updated throughout the season? or at least mid way through!?

At the end of my first season I had won the England cup and the PD II league and my ranking went up from 346 to 245 but I did not get any additional focus points. It could be limited because I started with PES United and original lineup I will start with some big team and see if it is any higher.

Yes Team Ranking is still updated once a year when the season ends.
As far as the transfers go there is still that item that shows 'Chances of signing' as a % figure, The better ranked your team the higher the chance to sign higher OVR rating players.

PS You can completely edit the youth team players in the Edit menu this year including ability stats.

I preferred creating my own players and put them in a Created team and build extra players to buy in the game because of this situation. I am waiting after the DLC in November before I start my Master League on PES2014.

im currently building my team real madrid ..this is what i have in mind..a 4-1-4-1 with de gea or neur defenders ramos,varane,david luiz,kompany, marcelo,alaba,lahm. 1 defensive midflieder either buskets or toure (tall guys) 4 attacking midfielders ronaldo,neymar,messi,bale and 1 forward lewandoski,falcao,ibrahimovic,suarez or cavani. what other attacking midfielders should i buy?

It will be better to wait after the patch in November before starting Master League Offline because the Gameplay is presently frustrating and annoying.

Notch one more feature that Konami has added for one iteration and then removed. I got no idea why, buying coaches was a good feature. I guess like someone else said there that Team ranking is the key here.

About the patch what the last person said. Has Konami announced an incoming patch for november?

The only thing confirmed is that there will be an update in November, the actual date is not out yet. It is being said that it will contain gameplay improvements (regarding the lag) and of course the the rectification of all the team lineups (from the off season transfers).

Its been three weeks since the November patch was released. The release notes mentioned "Player development has been made more balanced in [FOOTBALL LIFE]."
Can anyone who is still playing tell me what changes are made and is the development fixed, also would I have to start a new Football Life (ML or BAL) for the changes to be effective or the changes will be visible in the old saves as well.
A big thanks to anyone who does answer because honestly I don't have the heart to be disappointed in the ML again, Its the reason I buy PES.

i notice that a lot of my players change their stats drastically by the end of the season / start of the new season
i had a 71 defender go down to 68! and others went up +1 or +2, or stayed the same
actually very few players developed during the season

I want to add a question here... i read over the internet that you can actually train a player into a position by just making him play in X position for a while (a BIG while)... anyone has done it??
